How to connect compact dishwashers. How to install a dishwasher - the necessary tools and connection procedure. Communications to connect

After buying a dishwasher, one step remains until the moment of delight from clean dishes - this is the connection dishwasher to drain, water and electricity. Many, without hesitation, call the master, completely trusting him with this work. Others, on the contrary, having decided to save money, begin to study this issue in order to connect the equipment with their own hands. And rightly so, having studied the nuances, you can definitely understand how complicated or simple everything is. If you have the time and desire, then this article is for you, we will tell you in detail how to connect the dishwasher yourself.

Work order

Let's start by deciding where to start connecting the dishwasher, which is better to connect the drain or water first? Why such a question arises, yes, because in some instructions it is first proposed to install built-in appliances, then connect it to the drain. But imagine how you have to contrive to crawl up to back wall dishwasher when it is already installed. Therefore, the only correct sequence can be:

  1. connecting the machine to the drain;
  2. water connection;
  3. connection to the electrical network;
  4. trial testing;
  5. installation in a niche or in a designated place.

All these stages are preceded by small preparatory work unpacking the machine, preparing the necessary tools and components.

Important! After the machine is delivered to the room where it will be installed, you need to wait for it to stand for a while, you do not need to immediately turn it on.

Necessary tool and possible difficulties

In order to properly connect the dishwasher, in addition to a screwdriver and pliers, you may need a drill, a level, and also:

  • clamps;
  • siphon with an additional branch;
  • tee tap brass or bronze, but not silumin;
  • wrench;
  • wire cutters;
  • earthed socket.

In addition, it is worth warning you that when installing dishwashers of different brands, nuances and some difficulties may appear. So, for example, a short inlet or drain hose, a short electrical cord. In this case, you will have to purchase components separately. Very often, the gaskets included in the kit are also not suitable, so many specialists use a fumka to isolate threaded connections. Here are some more features of connecting dishwashers:

  • At Bosch, it is necessary to correctly, strictly according to the instructions, position the sealing gasket. If you turn it on the wrong side, then after 2-3 washing cycles, a leak will occur. Bosch has a very sensitive valve on the water supply, so when installing, you need to immediately take care of connecting the flow filter.
  • As for the well-known dishwashers from Siemens, they are one of the most unpretentious when connected, but demanding on niche sizes and fasteners.
  • Electrolux dishwashers are tilt sensitive. The inclination should not exceed 2 degrees, so a level may be required when leveling the machine on the floor.

Drain and water connection

to connect to the sewer, you will have to change the usual siphon to one that has a fitting, if you also connect a washing machine with a dishwasher, then there should be two fittings. When installing a compact dishwasher under the sink, you will need a special siphon, we wrote about this in the article.

After the siphon is reinstalled, you can connect the drain hose of the machine. To do this, the end of the drain hose of the dishwasher is put on the “nose” of the siphon and tightened with a clamp. Such a connection will be reliable.

When connecting the dishwasher to the drain, you need to remember:

Note! If possible, do not lengthen the drain hose, this will lead to excessive loading of the pump, its rapid failure.

Some instead of connecting drain hose to the siphon, throw the hose through the sink. It's one thing if you have a compact dishwasher standing on the table. And then, we would not recommend this method. But if the dishwasher is floor-mounted, then you will have to pump water high, the pump will quickly fail. In addition, this method is not safe, the hose can come off the sink and the flood in the kitchen cannot be avoided.

Most best option- connect the water to the dishwasher through the mixer. For this you need:

  • shut off the water going to the mixer;
  • disconnect the hose cold water from the mixer, removing the old insulation;
  • connect a tee with a tap to a pipe with cold water;
  • connect the mixer hose to one outlet of the tee, and the coarse filter to the other, the dishwasher inlet hose is connected directly to the filter, while all connections are insulated with a funnel.
    You need to manually tighten the inlet hose tightly enough; in this case, keys are not required.

Electrical connection

The dishwasher must only be connected to the mains through a separate, grounded socket. Tees and extension cords are not allowed, in addition, a refrigerator and a stove cannot be connected to the same outlet at the same time as the dishwasher. Therefore, the socket for the car must be taken care of at the stage of installation of electrical communications. Otherwise, it is better to call a specialist who will remove the wires from the electrical panel and make a grounded socket.

trial testing

The final step in connecting the dishwasher should be testing it. To do this, you can run a test wash without dishes using salt and powder. This makes it possible to check how correctly the installation of communications was carried out. Particular attention should be paid to how water is collected, whether there are any water leaks at the joints. If everything went well, .

Where to place the dishwasher in the kitchen

Before you connect the dishwasher with your own hands, you will have to spend a little time choosing a place to install the kitchen unit. There are a few simple rules that will help make the task much easier.

When choosing a place for a dishwasher, you should be guided by the following rules:

  • Observe the distance between the dishwasher and other household appliances, the minimum indent is 15 cm. It is even better to leave a gap of 40-50 cm and place a cabinet between the units.
  • Optimally position the dishwasher between two cabinets - this will ensure maximum stability.
  • If possible, install a dishwasher near the kitchen sink, which will greatly simplify the connection process - it will be enough to purchase a regular splitter.
  • The individual characteristics of the hostess should be taken into account - for a left-hander it will be more convenient to have the device near the left hand, for a right-hander the location of the device on the right will provide comfort.
  • Make sure that the kitchen unit is near the cabinet with household chemicals - you don’t have to move around the whole kitchen, the necessary tools will always be at hand.
  • The kitchen appliance must be located near the socket, which must certainly be grounded.

Make sure that the length of the drain hose is no more than one and a half meters. Otherwise, the load on the pump will be too high, the risk of breakdown increases several times.

Features of installing a dishwasher

Before connecting the dishwasher, it is recommended to carefully study the installation features of the kitchen appliance. Each unit, regardless of the brand, has its own technical documentation, which is better to familiarize yourself with in advance - usually the installation features of this particular device model are detailed here.

Connection takes place in several stages:

  1. Choosing a place, ensuring a horizontal stable position (if necessary, it is attached to the wall chipboard, ensuring the reliability of the installation).
  2. Preliminary preparation of all systems necessary for the smooth operation of the device.
  3. Connection to the energy carrier, drainage system, water supply.

Inattention, mistakes made when connecting, threaten an imminent breakdown of the unit, termination of the warranty. Liquid leakage, short circuit - only a small part of the problems that can occur if the device is installed incorrectly.

How to install a dishwasher yourself

A careful study of the instructions for the kitchen unit, ingenuity and a little experience will help you quickly and without any problems install the dishwasher. Even a novice owner will be able to cope with the task - regardless of the model, installation is carried out according to the same dishwasher connection scheme.

The first step is a careful inspection of the unpacked unit. If external damage is found, it is recommended to immediately contact the store and replace it, otherwise there is a risk of an early breakdown. If there are no visible chips, scratches, you can proceed with the installation.

Installation of built-in dishwasher

Having decided on the most suitable place for a fully built-in dishwasher, having previously assembled all the tools and accessories, you can get to work. When installing a dishwasher in furniture, dimensions are of no small importance. It is recommended to carefully measure all surfaces several times - an error of a few millimeters will force you to change the unit or spend a lot of time, be creative to carry out the installation.

The installation of the kitchen unit consists of several stages:

  1. Remove the shelves from the selected cabinet, you can install a small dishwasher under the sink, remove the door (it is advisable to choose a model with adjustable wheels for the built-in dishwasher, it will be easy to twist them to the required height).
  2. Put a tee on the pipe with cold water (if there is no stopcock, install it immediately, then it will be quite difficult to do this).
  3. Wrap all joints with fum tape, which will serve as an excellent sealant.
  4. Install a siphon.
  5. Run the hose, make sure that it is at a height of at least half a meter from the floor, attach it to the wall, the walls of the nightstand, use special clamps.
  6. Connect the hose installed siphon, bend to the required angle. If the length of the hose is insufficient, it is not recommended to grind it - a flood cannot be avoided later.
  7. Move the built-in compact dishwasher to the bedside table, if possible, immediately install it in the right place.
  8. Connect intake and drain hoses.

The last step in integrating the dishwasher into the finished kitchen is to check the reliability of all joints, fully push the unit into the nightstand, and wash the dishes for the first time.

Installing a Tabletop Dishwasher

If there is not enough space for a kitchen assistant, it is recommended to purchase a compact unit that is installed on the table. The dimensions of the dishwasher do not affect the quality of washing dishes; there will also be no problem in installation. The Bosch dishwasher is especially easy to install (it is this brand that is most popular with housewives due to its quality and ease of connection). It will be possible to cope with the work even in the absence of experience, the main thing is to carefully read the technical instructions.

Step-by-step installation of the desktop unit:

  1. Choose a suitable countertop, the place should be convenient and accessible so that the loading of dishes occurs without difficulty. If possible, it is recommended to install a solid shelf that will save space, most conveniently position the unit.
  2. The place should be located in close proximity to the sewer, electrical outlet, water pipe.
  3. Shut off cold water.
  4. Install a special tee crane that allows you to leave the outlet on which the crane is installed free.
  5. Screw the filter to the left free outlet. Do not forget about the sealant - the winding must be carried out against the thread.
  6. Mount the siphon (connect the hose to the fitting, secure the connection with a clamp), screw the inlet hose to the flow filter.

Carefully check all connections, correct errors if a leak is detected, otherwise the dishwasher will end up with unpleasant consequences, including even a breakdown of the unit.

It is easy to do all the work in just half an hour, but it is better not to rush, because it is not the deadlines that are important, but the quality. After each completed step, it is recommended to carry out a check - this will avoid annoying mistakes.

Connecting the dishwasher to the water supply and sewerage

Particular difficulties for novice owners usually arise with the connection of the dishwasher to the water supply or sewerage. The results of mistakes are a spoiled mood, a reproachful look from his wife, a dishwasher failure. In order to prevent such problems, it is recommended to carefully study all the features, nuances and tricks of installing a kitchen device.

If there are doubts about the correctness of the actions and even the instructions do not explain how to carry out the installation, it is recommended to first consult with a specialist. A professional will explain in detail how to carry out the installation step by step, to avoid mistakes. It should be remembered that the life of the kitchen appliance depends entirely on the correct connection.

How to connect a dishwasher to the water supply

It will be possible to independently connect the dishwasher correctly without any problems if you have already had to deal with the installation of the washing unit. Step by step processes are no different, so it will be possible to cope with the work in the shortest possible time. The devices are identical even with hoses with the same diameter, cap nut, sealing gasket, which has a filter in the form of a metal fine mesh grid. It is first recommended to make sure that the dishwasher hose is the correct length, lengthening will not help here in any way - even the most reliable joint will not help to avoid leakage. It is better to take care in advance and purchase a hose of the required length.

The easiest way to connect the dishwasher hose is to install a shut-off valve at the point where the water supply is connected to the kitchen faucet. In this case, there will be no difficulties - just disconnect on a cold pipe flexible eyeliner and install a tee tap (in everyday life it is called a through tap). Dock the previously disconnected mixer hose to one of the ends (where there is no tap). To the end on which the tap is located, it remains to connect the hose that supplies water to the kitchen unit.

If it is not possible to mount a kitchen appliance near a water supply, the task becomes more complicated. You will have to do soldering of polypropylene or metal-plastic, which is far from being possible for everyone - you will need the necessary skills, tools, and devices. In this case, it is better to let professionals act, it is easy to make unwanted mistakes on your own.

How to properly connect the dishwasher to the sewer

The easiest step in installing a Bosch dishwasher or another model is connecting to the sewer. It is important to take care of the length of the flexible outlet in advance - if necessary, you will have to build up or purchase a hose of the right size. If there is no opportunity or time to go to a hardware store and make a purchase, it is recommended to use a special connector made of durable rubber (usually goes already on a purchased flexible bend). The extended hose is attached to the sewer outlet - just insert a tight rubber seal (a simple cuff).

Difficulties will have to be faced if there is no outlet on the sewer pipe. The optimal place to organize the desired node is the junction kitchen sink and drain siphon. It is recommended to go the simplest way - to disconnect, install an additional tee. As a result, instead of one outlet, you get two, to one of which it remains to connect the drain of the dishwasher. Connect the sink siphon to the second.

Another option for connecting the unit to the sewer is a stationary supply. Usually faced with a similar installation method with a large distance of the dishwasher from sewer pipe. It is important to consider that too much depends on the length of the hose - an increased load on the device will lead to rapid wear of the nodes. Carrying out a special supply will allow the water to drain on its own. The hose from the dishwasher must be lowered at an obtuse angle, any sagging is unacceptable, otherwise the pump can cope even with a small amount liquids will be too difficult.

What socket is needed for the dishwasher

Of no small importance in the installation of the dishwasher is the choice of outlet. It is strongly not recommended to use an extension cord - if moisture gets in, the consequences are quite difficult to predict. Use the extension cord only if necessary, without leaving the kitchen unit turned on when the owners are not at home.

Do not place an extension cord between plastic pipes, near the tap, near gas appliances. If it breaks, it can damage the plastic, provoke a leak, even cause a fire.

To avoid trouble, it is better to take care of the convenient location of the dishwasher near electrical outlet. Choose an adapter made of durable plastic, with a smooth surface, without chips, scratches. Poor fixation of the components of the device, fragility, a thin wire and a plug poured out of low-quality rubber are a reason to refuse to buy. It is better not to save money and buy a reliable adapter well-known brand which will last for a long time.

If possible, it is better to bring a separate electrical wiring to the dishwasher, especially with a built-in oven with a dishwasher - the load during the operation of both appliances will be too high. Laying a new line is best left to professionals. Inexperience or carelessness in work can lead to an accident. The socket should be placed low from the floor, the recommended height is from 15 to 40 cm. It should be borne in mind that combustible materials (material, linoleum, laminate) may be on the floor, so make sure that between the socket and flooring there was enough distance.

How to install the facade on the dishwasher

Another question that often arises when installing a kitchen appliance is how to install the facade on a dishwasher. You should not immediately tune in to complexity - it will be easy and simple to carry out installation even in the absence of experience. For work you will need:

  • screwdriver with several nozzles;
  • several furniture panels;
  • countertop in the color of the kitchen set;
  • roulette.

First, a handle is attached to the facade, which will open the device, fasteners are installed that connect to the door of the unit. Carefully inspect the surface of the facade in advance - usually markings have already been applied here indicating where to make holes. Do not engage in experiments - drill in strictly indicated places.

Finish fastening the facade to the dishwasher by inserting the fasteners into the grooves that are located on the surface of the device. It is also necessary to remove the short bolts located on the inside, replace them with longer ones. At the same time, it is recommended to adjust the springs (just turn the screws).

How to arrange dishes in the dishwasher

Having installed a kitchen device, it is recommended to take into account the rules for washing dishes using the unit, otherwise even compliance with all installation requirements will not help to avoid trouble. The first thing to do is to remove all large pieces of food with a special brush. Pay special attention to remove particles that have dried to the surface, which can damage fragile and delicate kitchen appliances (decorative cups, plates, crystal, ceramics) during the washing process.

Basic rules for the location of kitchen appliances, dishes in the unit:

  • place the plates below, slightly at an angle (tilt forward), make sure that the surfaces do not touch, otherwise pieces of food, foam will remain on the products;
  • deep containers (cups, bowls, glasses) should be placed in the upper part, preferably upside down (with minor contamination, a slight slope is sufficient);
  • plastic, regardless of size, should be placed at the top (at the bottom the temperature is quite high, it is easy to damage demanding temperature regime products);
  • stewpans, pots, pans should be placed only from below, make sure that all items are upside down or at an angle;
  • cutlery should occupy a special tray, always down with handles.

It is important to ensure that even spoons or forks do not touch each other, otherwise the washing results will not please you too much - you will have to additionally rinse in the sink.

Types of dishwashers

Dishwashers are divided into three types: built-in, desktop and freestanding.

  1. Desktop machines are the smallest models that are installed directly on the countertop.
  2. Freestanding machines can be mounted in kitchen set or as a separate module. It is enough to connect them to communications and electricity.
  3. Built-in models are suitable for a small kitchen, as they save space. Despite the fact that they are much more difficult to install and connect to communications than previous devices, they have a great advantage. The overall aesthetics of the interior of the room is not violated, since the dishwasher is hidden by part of the kitchen set box.

Where is the dishwasher installed in the finished kitchen?

Before installing the machine, you need to find a suitable place for it. The main thing is that the water supply and sewerage should be located next to the equipment, and the heating system should be further away, since exposure to heat can harm it. Usually the built-in dishwasher is installed under the countertop. The device is made with standard and non-standard type of fastening.
  • When installing appliances with non-standard fasteners in a finished kitchen, you should carefully study the passport. The passport indicates which type of fastening is suitable for this box design.
  • Niches in modern kitchen furniture equipped for built-in appliances with standard mounting.

How to install a freestanding under counter dishwasher? We select the section where the equipment will be installed, remove the shelves and disassemble it. If there is a need, then with the help of a screwdriver, the strips for fastening inside the box can be rearranged to another place.

Basic installation rules

A standard built-in dishwasher has a depth of 550 mm, a width of 450 to 600 mm, and a height of 820 mm. Simple instruction on the installation of equipment with your own hands is attached to each model. But you still need to know the basic rules:

  1. Behind the rear wall of the device must be a space for air - at least 50 mm.
  2. Manufacturers of built-in dishwashers subtract a few millimeters from the standard dimensions of furniture so that it does not have to change its size and shape. Boxes are made with a small margin, which are designed for built-in appliances.
  3. You can find out in which places holes for decorative doors of the box should be made using special templates that are indicated in the installation diagrams.
  4. It should be borne in mind that the control panel is located on the side of the machine.
  5. The height-adjusting legs will help to correctly install the built-in dishwasher to the desired level and fit it tightly to the box.
  6. Using the mounting brackets included in the kit, the device is rigidly fixed to the box with screws.

Installation in a finished kitchen is a laborious process. Not everyone knows all the subtleties and installation rules. But by doing the installation yourself, without involving a specialist, you can save money. To do this, the installation instructions for the equipment, which is attached to each model, will help. The dishwasher is selected according to the depth and width of the kitchen unit.

For installation, you will need the following materials and tools:

  • A set of screwdrivers, a gas wrench and pliers.
  • Roulette and building level.
  • Hose for draining and supplying cold water (usually supplied).
  • Sewer tee and tie-in for drainage.
  • Euro socket and cable with a cross section of 1.5 mm (three-core).
  • Corrugation, nipple, corner valve and adapter.
  • Angle, metal clamp, three-pass valve.
  • Siphon, water filter, aquastop system - if not in the machine.
  • Tow and fastenings.

Electrical connection

The first thing to do is to ground the sockets in the apartment if they are not grounded. For this work call a specialist. Usually in multi-storey houses, the ground wire is connected to a dead neutral line. It is impossible to connect the machine to a simple outlet, so another one is installed at a height of 250–350 mm from the floor. To connect equipment, only euro sockets are used. They are equipped with a safety earth wire. With the help of a 16 ampere machine, a socket for equipment is removed from the main contact connection.

To ensure that the appliance is safe during operation and guarantee period has not disappeared, it is impossible to independently replace the standard plug with another model on the wire.

Connecting the device to the water supply is easy. This can be done in several ways. The simplest and fast option- it is in the kitchen to connect the inlet hose directly to the sink faucet. The disadvantage of such a connection: outwardly, a faucet with a hose look ugly and the faucet cannot be used while the machine is running. Despite the fact that this connection method is not very convenient, it can be used as a temporary one. The second option is more complicated, but much better:

  1. To connect the machine, you need to install a branch with a tap. To do this, use a plastic or metal tee with an angle valve. It is installed on a water pipe. Well, if the tee is equipped with a built-in ball valve.
  2. The dishwasher is supplied with a tidal hose, which is connected to a branch. If rigid pipes are used instead of a hose, then a filter is installed in front of the stopcock. Otherwise, a blockage will form on the heating part of the machine, which will lead to its breakdown.

How is a dishwasher built into the kitchen if several devices (washing machine, filters and taps) are connected to the water supply? In this case, a collector must be installed. With one collector, the number of tie-ins in the main pipe will become less.

Trying to save money, some consumers connect the dishwasher to the system hot water. You should not do this, since 5 to 10 liters of water is consumed per cycle of the machine, which is much more expensive. In addition, hot water can cause damage. check valve because it contains many different impurities.

Connection to the sewer system

    Save

So that the dishwasher does not fail due to improper connection to the sewer, you need to know some subtleties. Sometimes, if the connection is incorrect, all the water from the machine goes into the sewer and the equipment breaks down. Either they get inside the camera of the device unpleasant odors from the sewer. To prevent all this from happening, you need to know how to properly connect the equipment. There are two ways: with the installation of a siphon or using an oblique tee.

  1. The most reliable and safe way to connect is with the installation of a siphon. It is he who protects the device from the ingress of sewer odors into it and eliminates the occurrence of the siphon effect. The usual siphon installed under the kitchen sink is replaced with another siphon model, which has one or two additional nozzles. Next, the drain hose is connected to an additional outlet so that there are no kinks. Otherwise, the pump of the device may break down. A metal clamp strengthens the connecting place.
  2. Connection using an oblique tee is not the best the best way. But sometimes he becomes the only one. This method is used if the sink is far from the connected equipment. To prevent additional load on the drain pump, the drain hose must not be extended. Therefore, a tee is cut into the sewer pipe (choose the nearest place to the equipment). Then a drain hose is connected to the tee. To prevent sewer contents from entering the working chamber of the machine, the hose is made with an ascent and descent. An additionally installed anti-siphon valve will protect the equipment from the siphon effect.

Installing the case in the kitchen countertop

When the connection work is completed, the machine must be leveled. The adjustable feet help you to adjust the position. Then, detergent is poured into the apparatus without loading dishes and a test run is carried out. The check will show: Save

In case of leakage, the nuts must be tightened or additionally wound with FUM tape. If everything works well, the dishwasher is built into the furniture set. Attached to the device door decorative facade, which will hide the machine externally. The facade is attached according to the scheme, which is indicated on the special templates supplied with the machine. A decorative door or panel is attached to the machine body with fasteners.

The dishwasher will last a long time and reliably without emergencies, given some recommendations from experts:

  1. The dishwasher and countertop must be on the same level.
  2. In order for the kitchen set to serve for a long time, the walls inside the furniture case are pasted over with a vapor barrier.
  3. The furniture case must be strong if its bottom is a support for the apparatus.
  4. The dishwasher is installed away from the electric oven, and it should not be installed under the hob.
  5. The metal plate will well protect the countertop from steam.
  6. With a heavy load, the pressure pump will not work well, so the length of the drain hose should be no more than 2.5 m.
  7. Do not connect equipment through extension cords.
  8. It is necessary to install and connect the equipment with all responsibility, since it is powered by electricity and there is water. And it's not safe!
  9. To avoid being hit electric current must be grounded.

Connection order

Despite the small size difference various kinds dishwashers, their connection to all communications occurs according to the same principle with slight differences.

Consider general rules how to install a dishwasher of any kind:

  1. First you need to decide on the place where the PMM will be located. If it is built-in, then of course, in the place provided by the kitchen furniture, if it is portable, then close to the sink. A stationary model can be installed anywhere, but most often it is a work area in the kitchen.
  2. Another important point is the connection to the power grid. It is important that the unit is close to the outlet, this will avoid the need for extension cords. It is safer to have a separate and grounded outlet for the dishwasher, especially if the device is powerful.
  3. To bring and install a separate outlet, it is better to use wiring with a cross section of 2.5 mm and protection in the form of a 16 A machine. The most reliable option is to also connect a 30 mA RCD.
  4. Then you need to choose a pipe to connect the device to water. Most often, this is a cold water supply pipe, but some units provide for the possibility of connecting directly to hot water.
  5. Connection to the water supply is carried out using a special hose high pressure, at the end of which is a union nut with a ¾ inch thread. Therefore, a shut-off valve and a tee of the same size must first be installed on the water supply pipe. All fittings are connected using a waterproofing FUM tape (you need to make 8-12 turns).
  6. The PPM drain is connected to the internal sewerage, and it is better to do this through a separate siphon tee, combining, for example, with a kitchen sink drain. To do this, you need to unscrew the plug of the kitchen siphon and screw the dishwasher siphon onto it, into which you connect the drain hose. At the same time, a hose for draining dirty water from the dishwasher in such a way that a small half-ring forms below the siphon.
  7. Finally, the dishwashing machine is connected to electricity, leveled and checked for performance. Check threaded connections for leaks and hoses for kinks.

Now, you know how to connect the dishwasher yourself. If the unit has been tested for operability, then it is worth sealing all the holes in the walls that have arisen when laying the power supply cable, water supply and sewage outlet, and you can start operating the dishwasher.

In order to complete all the stages with high quality, you need to know their correct sequence, have all the tools, materials and stop valves. The order of installation of the dishwasher is as follows:

  • Connecting the dishwasher to the sewer.
  • Connecting the water hose.
  • Inclusion in the euro socket with grounding.
  • Test run.
  • Installation in a prepared place.

In the instructions, you can find the option when the water supply is connected first, and then the tie-in to the sewer - but this order is extremely inconvenient.

A stock of all the necessary materials for connection is a guarantee of the correct work. Among the tools to properly install, you need:

  • Screwdriver.
  • Pliers.
  • Wrench.
  • Consumables - fum-tape.

Plumbing fittings:

  • Waste siphon for dishwasher connection.
  • ¾ inch tee. You need to use metal-plastic, bronze, brass. There are cheap silumin ones on sale, but they break very quickly, literally fly to pieces.
  • Coarse filter. You can connect the machine without it, but it is unlikely to work for a long time, since the device depends on the quality of the water. If it breaks down during the warranty period, you still have to pay for the repair, because all the installation rules were not followed.
  • Ball shut-off valve.
  • Hank connecting pipe.

Possible difficulties

The presented installation instructions are suitable for most dishwashers, but some instances, including well-known brands, have their own process specifics. Namely:

  • The Bosch dishwasher must be carefully connected to the water supply, as it is demanding on the location of the seals. If you install them incorrectly (on the wrong side), then after a few cycles the dishwasher will begin to flow. This is because Bosch has a rather sensitive valve responsible for the water supply, a flow filter is definitely needed here.
  • Siemens is the most unpretentious in connection, but an important aspect is proper preparation niches for installation. The option of how to connect the dishwasher to the sewerage and water supply is described in detail in the instructions, you don’t need to invent anything.
  • As for the Electrolux brand, their dishwashers are very sensitive to the angle of inclination. When setting the level of the device, a difference of more than 2% should not be allowed. To achieve such accuracy, a building level is needed.

Let's start by deciding where to start connecting the dishwasher, which is better to connect the drain or water first? Why such a question arises, yes, because in some instructions it is first proposed to install built-in appliances, then connect it to the drain. But imagine how you have to contrive to crawl to the back of the dishwasher when it is already installed. Therefore, the only correct sequence can be:

  1. connecting the machine to the drain;
  2. water connection;
  3. connection to the electrical network;
  4. trial testing;
  5. installation in a niche or in a designated place.

All these stages are preceded by small preparatory work on unpacking the machine, preparing the necessary tools and components.

Important! After the machine is delivered to the room where it will be installed, you need to wait for it to stand for a while, you do not need to immediately turn it on. . Necessary tool and possible difficulties

In order to properly connect the dishwasher, in addition to a screwdriver and pliers, you may need a drill, a level, and also:

  • clamps;
  • siphon with an additional branch;
  • tee tap brass or bronze, but not silumin;
  • wrench;
  • wire cutters;

Before connecting the dishwasher, you should prepare the tools necessary for mounting the unit to communications. During the execution of the work, you may need some expendable materials, the number of which must be determined in advance.

To connect the dishwasher, you will need long hoses for draining and supplying water from the pipes

To install the dishwasher yourself, you will need a standard set of the following parts and materials:

  • siphon for water flow. If you need to install a dishwasher together with a washing machine, then the siphon must be taken with two fittings;
  • ¾ inch ball-type shut-off valve;
  • ¾" brass or bronze tee. It is not recommended to purchase a silumin product, since this material is subject to crystalline corrosion, which causes brittleness;
  • FUM tape;
  • additional handle made of metal-plastic;
  • works;
  • filter for deep water purification;
  • grounded socket;
  • additional electrical wire if the outlet is located far away and you need to conduct a new power line from the switchboard.

To install a dishwasher, you may need long hoses to drain and get water out of the pipes. Sometimes the manufacturer completes the unit with short hoses that are not suitable for the size of a particular room and are missing from the junction with the water supply and sewerage system. Before, you need to measure the distance from the installation site of the unit to the installation point.

1. curly screwdriver;

3. electric drill;

4. pliers;

5. screwdriver with a set of bits;

6. scissors for cutting metal;

8. silicone gun;

9. clamps;

10. adjustable wrenches;

11. level for construction work;

12. rags for cleaning pipes;

13. indicator screwdriver for determining the phase of the current.

Picking up necessary tools, parts and supplies, the owners move on to choosing a suitable place to connect the dishwasher.

The main stage is considered to be preparatory work. It is worth taking a very responsible approach to preparation before connecting the dishwasher with your own hands, so as not to stretch this work for long time. Problems that arise are best addressed as they are discovered, because there will be few of them. First you need to check the integrity of the dishwasher

You should also pay attention to the presence of damage to the device that may have occurred during its delivery.

Then it is worth preparing a place for installing the machine. However, before that, you need to consider the manufactured modifications of the devices. Experts divide dishwashers into the following types:

  • desktop machines that can be placed on the table, like electric oven or microwave;
  • free-standing machines that are placed on the floor;
  • built-in machines that are built into kitchen furniture.

It is very easy to connect a small tabletop dishwasher yourself, as it is connected to faucet or a separate outlet, and the drain hose is located inside the sink. Then the device is plugged into an outlet and starts washing dishes.

Choosing a place for equipment

Before buying an assistant in the kitchen, you should evaluate the possibilities of the room and find a place to place a new household appliance. There are desktop and floor models, built-in, built-in and freestanding types of machines, respectively, you can choose the most suitable option. We reviewed the best models of Bosch brand dishwashers in the following material.

You need to completely abandon the purchase only if the kitchen is small-sized, and every centimeter of usable area is already occupied.

Usually the dishwasher is placed in the lower tier of furniture, not far from the sink. The connection point is dictated by the location of sewer and water supply communications. The closer the machine is to the pipes, the less problems with installing and connecting a Bosch dishwasher, regardless of its technical characteristics.

It is believed that desktop version takes up little space. But keep in mind that the dishwasher is placed on a useful area of the countertop, so there may be a shortage of a working surface for cooking.

A stand-alone household appliance can only be afforded by owners of a spacious kitchen. The machine can be placed freely among the furniture modules, but also be sure to be near the water and sewer pipes

Appliances located “inside” the furniture set are the most preferred for small kitchen spaces, besides, they are successfully decorated with a front panel and do not stand out for their “technicality”

You can save as much as 15 cm by installing a narrow one instead of the traditional model. The reduced dimensions of the equipment do not affect functional features: units cope with washing 9-10 sets of dishes

Do not forget that any savings is a concession. Suppose narrow built-in dishwashers easily process serving sets - plates, cutlery, cups, provided they are properly loaded, but some models are not suitable for washing pots, baking sheets, baking dishes, pans. And housewives in large families are well aware of how much time and effort it takes to clean just large-sized dishes.

In modern kitchen furniture, manufacturers make special niches for the dishwasher. These niches are provided with standard fastenings. This is convenient, but not always, some models of dishwashers are attached in a different way, and you have to rework the niche. In order not to be mistaken, you need to study the furniture documents, they most likely indicate the models of dishwashers that the mounts are suitable for. If such data could not be found, then you will have to measure the fasteners on furniture and appliances in stores.

But it is not difficult to reinstall the fasteners, but if the equipment is larger in size than the niche itself, then it is almost impossible to solve the problem. Of course, furniture recycling is a task that specialists can handle, but it is expensive, so it’s better to choose more suitable model dishwasher.

If the kitchen area is large enough, then you can install the dishwasher directly on the table, this will bring many positive aspects:

  • Stock will now be extremely simple. It is enough to simply lead the pipe into the sink, and there will be no risk of flooding or miasma penetration into the technique;
  • You do not have to do the replacement of the siphon and other manipulations with plumbing;
  • It is possible to connect the machine to a wall outlet (necessarily euro with grounding), while there will be no silting of the wires. And the functions of the emergency disconnector, if necessary, can be performed by a plug-machine;
  • The main advantage of this installation option is that the drain will occur by gravity. This will reduce the load on the drain pump (a very sensitive element) and, accordingly, extend the life of household appliances.

Before connecting the dishwasher, you need to prepare a place for it. Its location depends on the type, model - built-in or portable. Often in kitchen sets there is a special niche for this appliance, which greatly facilitates the installation process.

If there is no data on the niche in the kitchen passport or there is none at all, then in order for the installation of the dishwasher to be successful, it is necessary to measure the space for future installation and the dimensions of the appliance. The problem will arise if the dimensions of the dishwasher are larger than free space to install it.

In order for the dishwasher to function flawlessly in the long run, it must be properly connected. Dishwashers are available in a built-in (for example, in a kitchen set) version or in a separate version.

Rice. 1. Appearance of the dishwasher Bosch SRV55T13EU

Using the Bosch dishwasher model SRV55T13EU as an example (Fig. 1), we will consider a simple connection method that can be used universally - in the city and the countryside, taking into account some of the features of a particular connection discussed in the article.

You can also connect the machines with your own hands, following the recommended path; performing work operations in the following sequence:

  • the control appearance upon receipt (delivery);
  • installation of a dishwasher in a selected location (near the water supply and drain points);
  • connection to the sewerage system (drainage) using a drain hose;
  • connection to the hydraulic circuit of a centralized water supply system (in the village to the water supply circuit);
  • connection from a 220 V lighting network (with a ground loop) and a separate 10-13 A automatic fuse.

Since the power of the dishwasher consumed from the network during operation is high - up to 2.3 kW, electrical connection produced to a specially grounded outlet (see Fig. 3 and 4).

Rice. 3. Correct (left) and incorrect (right) connection of the dishwasher to the 220 V lighting network

Rice. 4. Practical socket connection

Rice. 5. If your apartment does not have such sockets, the ground wire (according to electrical safety rules, it must be yellow-green in color and with a cross section of at least 2.5 mm²) is carried out independently. A wiring option in a house under construction is presented.

Rice. 6. Additional ground wire wiring

Bosch SRV55T13EU has an automatic solenoid valve, which is programmatically controlled by the central processor of the machine, passing water from the water supply to the working chamber and to the heating element (heater).

Rice. 7. Solenoid valve of the Aqua-Stop Bitron system

Rice. 8. Illustration for connecting the incoming water hose to the solenoid valve

The counterpart to it must have an external thread with a diameter of 26.4 mm (see Fig. 8).

This valve has its own characteristics: inside the supply hose (2.5 m behind the dishwasher) there are connecting wires.

As a rule, an underwater hose with a solenoid valve is connected to a cold water supply. However, it is useful to know that this solenoid valve is designed for water temperatures of +25 ... + 70º C, moreover, at an inlet temperature of +60º C, the operating time washing machine will be less (for one wash) - due to the fact that there is no time spent on heating water with a heating element in the working chamber, and at a temperature of less than +60º C - more (see Table 1 at the end of the article).

The internal heater (heater) of the dishwasher provides the water temperature in the working chamber up to +65º С (depending on the installed program).

The dishwasher can also work in semi-automatic mode if it is not equipped with an Aqua-Stop solenoid valve, if the pressure in the hydraulic circuit is low (less than 0.5 bar), if water enters the machine by gravity (rustic version). In the last considered case, the water supply is controlled manually by opening/closing the water tap.

If the water pressure is insufficient or it does not flow at all, the segment “Check the water supply” lights up on the indicator. This may be in the following cases:

  • the water tap is closed;
  • turned off the water to the apartment;
  • the flexible inlet hose of the hydraulic circuit is strongly bent;
  • the filter in the solenoid valve is clogged (Fig. 9).

Rice. 9. View of the built-in filter in the solenoid valve

To localize the malfunction, you will need to turn off the power supply of the dishwasher, stop the water supply, unscrew the solenoid valve at the junction with the water supply hose from the apartment (house) hydraulic circuit, remove the filter from the Aqua-Stop solenoid valve and clean it. Then put everything back in place in reverse order, connect the water and power to the dishwasher.

Attention important!

Never cut this hose or immerse the plastic body of the solenoid valve in water.

To avoid power failures and leaks, lay the inlet and drain communications so that the hoses do not kink and are not adjacent to the heating elements. It is best to mask these technical communications with hard plastic "false panels" to prevent even the unlikely impact of children or pets on them.

If the dishwasher is installed in the country house and operates in conditions of temperature differences, make sure that after operation there is no water left inside the working chamber and in the hoses (both inlet and drain) (so that it does not freeze in winter).

To drain the remaining water - close the water tap (turn off the inlet circuit), disconnect the supply hose and let the water drain. So you will protect yourself and your dishwasher for a long time.

Some specifications and installation requirements

  • supply voltage of the solenoid valve 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz;
  • power consumption 2.3 kW;
  • minimum water pressure in the inlet circuit 0.5 bar (0.05 MPa);
  • maximum water pressure 10 bar (1 MPa);
  • with increased hydraulic pressure, an additional pressure reducing valve is installed in front of the tap or solenoid valve;
  • the minimum volume of water supplied is 10 l/min.

We will sequentially consider connecting the underwater (inlet) and outlet (drain) hoses to the dishwasher.

From the side water pipe threaded connection, using a transition hose; it is shown in fig. ten.

Rice. 10. Threaded connection of the inlet hydraulic circuit with an adapter hose

On fig. 11 illustrates the types of connections and dimensions of some connectors for inlet and drain hoses.

Using the parts supplied, connect and secure the supply hose to the water tap; make sure that the fresh water supply hose is not kinked or crushed.

Connecting a drain hose to sewer communications

The drain valve (adapter connected with a crimping collar) has an outer diameter of 22 mm (see Fig. 11); dimensions are similar to the output of all types of dishwashers and automatic washing machines manufactured after 2000.

To connect the water outlet of the dishwasher, install a standard siphon with a drain pipe and outlet under the sink (see fig. 12 and 13).

Attention important!

To find out the duration (in minutes - in minutes) of the selected program, press the on / off button of the dishwasher once.

In the same way, turn it off after the indication “0” appears on the display. There is another important nuance of program management.

If, during the program control, both buttons with the Reset designation are simultaneously pressed and held for 3 seconds, the washing program will stop, the “0” symbol will appear on the information display, and a minute after the program is paused, you can completely turn off the dishwasher.

This method is suitable for an emergency stop of the program, adding dishes, in the event of a power failure and the need to change the program parameters.

The table knows everything

There is a specific, empirically established and manufacturer-recommended consumption detergent and electricity - depending on the installed (programmed) dishwashing program. This information is included in Table. one.

Table 1. Relationship between program type, water and electricity consumption

Despite the apparent complexity of the description, any diligent owner can perform all these sequential steps - to give pleasure to the operation of the dishwasher to their loved ones.
