Siding near the window. Decoration of windows and doors with siding. Decoration of windows with slopes

Siding is used to decorate the facade of buildings. This material gives aesthetics and protects all the constituent elements. They can sheathe not only the facade, but also other parts of it, for example, window openings.

Finishing the window with siding can be done independently, but this process has a number of nuances. It is worth studying them before starting work.

For finishing windows and facades of residential structures, it is used different material. Masters recommend giving preference to vinyl or steel base material. These panels are highly durable and have a long service life.

Benefits of window siding:

  • moisture resistance;
  • resistance to frost and high temperatures;
  • aesthetics;
  • ease of care;
  • service life of 45–50 years.

On the surface of the siding for a metal window, a special protective coating with a polymer composition is applied, which prevents corrosion.

The metal material is quite heavy, so it should not be used for sheathing old houses with dilapidated walls, as they can collapse along with the sheathing.

Fittings for installation work

It is important to choose the necessary and high-quality fittings for fasteners. These elements will provide reliable fastening of the siding of all windows. It is worth acquiring these elements from the same company as the sheathing itself.

Calculation of fittings for fasteners

It is necessary to perform a preliminary calculation of material consumption. To do this, measure all window and door openings around the perimeter.

It is not necessary to take into account the distance under the windows, because in this area window sills and ebbs will be installed in the future. As soon as the necessary measurements are made, it is required to add the finished values. It is also recommended to take a margin of 10%.

You can first draw up a plan-drawing, it will help you understand which elements of the cladding can be replaced with cheaper ones.

To prevent sellers from selling you unnecessary parts, it is worth making a list and sticking to it strictly.

To finish the window openings you will need:

  • H-profile;
  • J-profile, this element is considered universal, it can be used instead of the window trim and other components;
  • corners with an external and internal structure to cover the joint of panels;
  • finish line;
  • chamfer;
  • near-window siding strip;
  • ebbs - usually come with plastic windows.

It is better to choose all the fittings so that they match the color characteristics and texture of the sheathing panels.

Required Tools

For siding you will need:

  • screwdriver;
  • scissors for cutting metal products;
  • knife-cutter for marking the cutting area;
  • hacksaws for metal and wooden products, electric jigsaw;
  • punch for making holes;
  • a hammer;
  • rulers with different size range;
  • roulette;
  • building level;
  • simple pencil for notes.

Installation rules for finishing profiles

Finishing windows and facades with siding on the outside may differ depending on the appearance of the house, but the entire process of cladding depends on the chosen material for cladding and the overall style of the building.

It is worth studying a few important rules:

  1. Self-tapping screws for fastening panels to wall surfaces and frames must have a stainless base or galvanized coating.
  2. Screws are screwed in at a 90 degree angle. Even if there is even a small level of inclination, this can reduce the degree of reliability of fastening profiles.
  3. Do not tighten the screws to the very limit. It's important to leave some space. This will ensure movement during the expansion of the material under temperature phenomena, otherwise deformation is possible.
  4. Notching on panels to make bends on the sides is performed at an angle of 45 degrees. This will prevent the formation of gaps when joining individual components at the corner area.
  5. If the tide will be installed, then you need to fix the element at the very beginning. This will ensure that the fasteners overlap with the vertical side slope components.
  6. The cladding panels should be firmly pressed to the area of the slopes around the windows.

Russian window finishing standards offer slopes with a width of 19–20 cm. In these cases, during the finishing of slopes with siding, panels are used that are placed in a J-profile fixed near the window frame.

crate

It is necessary to ensure even sheathing, especially if the slopes of the structure are made of cement or stone material.

Features of the crate:

  • it is better to pre-allocate the fixation zones of the rack components;
  • parts can be vertical or horizontal, it all depends on the position of the siding;
  • the size of the crate is calculated taking into account the thickness of the siding.

Window decoration without slopes

In the absence of a slope, special fittings are used - a near-window profile for siding.

Step by step installation instructions:

  1. To begin with, measurements are taken in the lower frame.
  2. The casing is indented a short distance, the dimensions of which are the same as the width of the casing. Then a segment is measured, which is equal to the lower part of the window and one more equal to the width of the casing recedes.
  3. At the resulting part, an angle of 45 degrees is measured on each side. A cut is made according to the received mark front side panels. Wherein inner corner should be intact, like the top bar.
  4. The element is glued with liquid nails, the bottom panel is fixed.
  5. Side platbands are alternately screwed, while their edges are placed in the inner area of \u200b\u200bthe bar, which is placed at the bottom of the window. This will prevent gaps between individual panels.
  6. The top panel before fixing is removed in the area of the side parts of the platbands and twisted.

Decoration of windows with slopes

To begin with, the installation of the ebb is performed. The installation of this element should be carried out according to the following scheme:

  • It is important that the tide sits exactly on the bottom of the window, it is necessary to adjust this element. The indicators are taken from the lower region of the frame and from the edge of the window sill between the wall partitions. It also turns out the width of the slope under the window.
  • Based on the parameters obtained, a mark is placed on the ebb, according to which the metal is bent or the vinyl element is cut off.
  • Ready ebb is fixed to the window frame. It is also fixed to vertical wall surfaces through bends.

Then you can start covering the window slopes with plastic:

  1. To begin with, measure top part as well as at low tide, but at the same time its width is equal to the width of the slope.
  2. The length of one side is equal to the side of the frame, and the other is the outer part of the slope.
  3. When arranging the panels for the side and upper slopes, the installation of a window siding strip is used.
  4. A corner is attached outside, which will allow you to close the joint between the siding, the near-window strip and the slope.

Finishing arched and lancet windows

Facing a window with an arched or lancet structure is carried out using additional elements. In the process, you will need a window siding strip or a J-profile with a flexible structure. It needs to be cut a little and inserted around the window opening.

To finish the window with siding, it is necessary to make a profile incision every 20 cm, due to this, cracking of the fittings is prevented.

In the future, the siding around the window is finished in the same way as in cases with windows with or without slopes.

Finishing the facade of the building with siding allows you to protect the building from negative impact external factors. This finishing material has a large list of advantages:

The installation process is relatively simple and consists in creating a supporting frame, on which the panels are subsequently mounted. finishing material. A smooth solid wall is sheathed in just a few days, but you will have to tinker with window and door openings.

Finishing the siding of windows and doors is not particularly different from each other. The only difference is the presence of a low tide to remove precipitation when sheathing windows. When sheathing doorways the ebb function is performed by the threshold or seizure.

Material calculation

Before installing siding around windows and doors, it is necessary to calculate the number of necessary components, which include near-window strips, J-profile, ebbs, trim, corner rails and finishing strips.

The use of certain components depends on the configuration of the window or door opening. If they have wide slopes, then it is necessary to use near-window strips. If the doors and windows are flush with the wall, trims are used.

As a rule, the length of the components for siding is 3 meters. When calculating the required amount of material, the total perimeter of all doors and windows should be divided by 3. The length of the components may vary depending on the manufacturer, this feature should also be taken into account when making calculations.

Accessories

In order to sheathe window and door openings with siding, you will need special component materials and galvanized profiles.

For installation, J-profiles are used, which must be installed around the perimeter of the entire opening. When finishing windows with slopes, double-sided corner profiles are used.

If the windows of the building do not belong to the European standard (they are not equipped with ebbs), ebbs and visors should be mounted separately.

Near-window strips are used for sheathing slopes, and platbands are used to frame openings that run flush with the wall of the building.

If finishing the slopes of windows and doors is carried out with the help of a near-window strip, then it is important to use a finishing profile - it will fasten the near-window strip.

How to siding a window

The installation of siding around the window differs depending on the depth of their planting:

  • depth is up to 20 cm;
  • the window is flush with the plane of the wall;
  • arched window;
  • depth over 20 cm;

This division is associated with the use of various standard elements. The industry offers several options depending on the linear dimensions of the mounting profiles: external corner profiles and starting profiles (you can see the name J-profile or universal profile).

Before framing windows with siding, you must create. It is best to use metal profiles as a material, since wood does not have sufficient durability and resistance to external destructive factors.

If the frame is nevertheless chosen wooden slats, then before installation it is necessary to treat them with special protective compounds that increase moisture resistance, fire resistance, chemical and biological resistance of wood.

It is necessary to mount the frame at an angle of 90 degrees, regardless of the direction of the slopes of the window opening.

Sloped siding window trim

If the planting depth of the window or doors is up to 20 cm, then a standard J-bar can be used for sheathing, which can be up to 22 cm wide. Taking into account the overlap of the structural elements, this method can block the opening up to 20 cm. A finishing strip is attached to the plane of the window frame , into the groove of which the J-profile is inserted.

It is also possible to replace the near-window plank with a system for fastening the outer corner, a universal bar and cutting siding strips that fit horizontally into the grooves of the universal bar, and the outer edge is closed with an outer corner overlay. This method can also be used if the window seat depth exceeds the allowable J-bevel dimensions (20 cm).

Mounting sequence

Mounted outer corner and J-profile, and the space between them is filled with siding panels cut to the required length.

Window trim without slope

If the doorway coincides with the plane of the wall, then when sheathing the building with siding, you can use standard elements in the form of platbands. The platbands come in several sizes, which differ depending on the width and shape: narrow (about 4 cm) or wide (about 6 cm), a flexible platband is also used to frame arched openings.

At the same time, all elements can be matched in color with the siding, or vice versa, highlight the door or window opening, using platbands that differ in color from the main color of the siding.

The sequence of finishing windows with siding with your own hands: first, platbands are installed, then the gap is filled with siding.

Arched window trim

For sheathing arched windows with siding, a standard flexible J-profile is used, but due to its high cost, many resort to using a standard rigid J-profile, the base of which is cut with the necessary step. The trimming step is chosen depending on the rounding radius, the smaller the turning radius, the trimming should be more often.

When bending an arched profile, care must be taken not to break the profile at the rounding point. Even if it was possible to align the inflection, then, most likely, a noticeable mark will remain in its place.

Finishing a window with a slope of more than 20 cm

When finishing a window opening, the recess of which is more than 20 cm, external corners, J-profile and siding panels are used, cut to the required size.

On the initial stage finishes to be installed outer corner and J-profile, then siding panels cut to the required size should be laid in the gap between them.

To finish the slope, you can use both the siding itself and the soffit. It is advisable to use a soffit, since the panel itself has a shape designed to drain water, and the soffit looks more aesthetically pleasing.

Particular attention should be paid to the methods of trimming and connecting the corners of the window or door frame. The corners must be connected in such a way that there are no gaps and gaps through which water could penetrate under the finishing material.

You can also cut straight, but a 45-degree cut looks more attractive and has more functionality.

It is worth noting that the use of metal fittings will allow you to close the slopes of more than 20 cm. This is due to the fact that it can be ordered in size to your home, i.e. if you have a slope of 25 cm, then it will be made for you and there will be a single part in the window area, and not an “assembled constructor”. Another plus of metal fittings is that it looks more attractive when decorating the facade of a house than plastic.

Video instruction for finishing window and door openings with siding

It is no longer possible to surprise anyone in our time with a house that is finished with siding. It is convenient, cheap and aesthetically pleasing. Wall installation can be performed by any non-professional, guided by the instructions for the material, as well as video and photo master classes on the Internet. When window siding begins, many are at a standstill. Indeed, finishing this facade element is a little more difficult, not to mention the fact that window decorative elements are the most expensive additional parts in the kit. Nobody wants to ruin them just like that. In our article, we will try to teach how to decorate window openings with and without slopes using a siding profile.

The finishing market today is dominated by the demand for two types of material - vinyl and metal. Each of them has its pros and cons for window decoration. The features of these siding coatings manifest themselves in different climatic zones and modes of operation in their own way.

Window decoration with a window profile looks very attractive.

Vinyl

This material is made from polyvinyl chloride with the addition of additives for strength and elasticity. To date, the production of PVC coatings has reached a high quality level, and the cost has remained quite affordable for the average buyer. Companies from the USA, Canada, Germany and other countries are working on the production of vinyl siding. In Russia, vinyl products are produced by such manufacturers as Deke, Alta-Profil, Grand Line and others. The cost of products and vinyl starts from 170 rubles. for one element. Window parts cost a little more than Wall panels. Why is vinyl trim preferred in the world?

  1. It can be used in almost any region: from hot cities to cold remote areas. quality material copes well with both heat and cold.
  2. Wear resistance indicators of PVC good producers allow you to give them a guarantee of up to 30 years.
  3. The material almost does not fade under the ultraviolet of solar radiation. In the first year, the color may change slightly in hue, but subsequently its intensity does not suffer, regardless of the number of sunny days in a year.
  4. Vinyl siding is easy to care for. Simply wipe the surface with a cloth or clean with detergent: vinyl is not afraid of exposure chemical substances, the main thing is not to use coarse abrasive pastes and powders. If the house is in an area with high humidity, then mold may appear on the surface of the skin. It is easily removed with 5% chlorine solution. It is better not to do a large concentration, as the colors of the panels can be damaged.
  5. The material is produced in spectacular performance. Vinyl coatings can have dozens of types of shades and textures, including imitating natural materials- wood or natural stone.
  6. It's easy to fasten it. It is elastic and easy to cut, which is important for the design of the window opening.
  7. And finally, this is the most inexpensive look finishes, from all facade materials offered on the market.

Metal

Metal siding has significant advantages over vinyl, despite the higher cost of coating. Experts believe that the price pays off performance.

  1. Metal stronger than PVC and has a minimum service life of 50 years. During this time, it will not undergo any changes.
  2. The heat resistance of metal finishes is valued in the design of buildings with increased fire safety requirements. Metal does not burn while vinyl melts.
  3. Metal siding is covered with a layer of polymer, which gives it an additional ability to resist corrosion. The polymer is dyed using powder dyes and can be given any shade and texture.
  4. The metal profile has more flexibility than vinyl, which can break if strongly bent, and it is simply not possible to bend the edges. Because of this valuable quality of metal siding, they are preferred by professional window dressers.

Siding fittings and its calculation

Despite the opinion of some experts, you can pick up additional metal elements for vinyl siding for walls and vice versa. The main thing is to choose accessories from the same manufacturer whose material is selected. Different companies have different fasteners and you can get into trouble when joining profiles. Buy all the necessary finishing elements at once. If you have to buy in addition, the required color or texture may not be available.

Additional elements that may be needed to finish the window

It is better to calculate the required number of profiles on your own, without trusting this crucial moment to anyone:

  • The size of the flashing is measured directly under the frame, according to the old or intended flashing.
  • The width and height of the window is measured along the outer part of the slopes and applied to the drawing, reduced several times.
  • You need to add 10% to the sum of the dimensions of the slopes, be sure to do this, since there will be bends and undercuts during installation.
  • For work, you will need to purchase: J - bar, H-profile, corners for finishing parts inside and out, ebb, window bar, finishing bar may be needed to complete the edging of the opening. The photo shows the installation of a window, where you can study the details and think about a possible replacement for expensive elements.

Study this window opening installation scheme and it will be easier for you to imagine the number required material and how to make your own drawing

Tools and fasteners

Of the tools you will need:

  • A cutter knife can be useful for making basting folds on vinyl or acrylic.
  • Screwdriver or screwdriver for mounting self-tapping screws.
  • Metal shears for cutting the profile and fitting to the desired size.
  • An electric jigsaw with a set of fine-toothed files or a hacksaw for working with metal and wood.
  • You will need a punch for the missing holes in the siding.
  • Hammer if you will be using nails.
  • Rulers and square.
  • Building level.
  • Self-tapping screws.
  • Glue "Liquid nails"

crate

The crate is needed to decorate the slopes of a stone or brick building. It is rarely installed, since it is quite possible to do without it. Nevertheless, the crate is made so as not to disturb the general installation of the ventilation facade and install heaters. For the construction of the frame, a wooden or metal profile is used. Wooden bars are attached directly to the wall, and metal slats are mounted using special brackets. The arrangement of rails can be vertical, horizontal or mixed. In the photo you see an example of a metal crate for a window opening.

Most often, siding is attached directly to the wall with liquid nails or self-tapping screws, if the walls of the house are made of wood.

Trim for window trim

Mounting

  • The first step is to install the tide. If this is not done, then rain moisture will remain on the slopes, and in winter they will freeze. The width of the tide bar should be slightly larger than the slope itself, protruding no more than 4 cm. We mark the distance on both sides and cut it off, but not completely. Vertical folds are made along the lines outlined in advance. Where the part will be attached to the frame, “liquid nails” glue is applied, and the ebb is attached to it with self-tapping screws. The ebb is also fixed through the bent sections to the verticals.
  • After that, a J-bar is attached to the upper horizontal and side parts of the frame. Segments of siding are inserted into the profile and trimmed from the sides. The upper part is cut to the dimensions of the slope, and the lower part along the side of the frame.
  • After all the actions, close the corners decorative element"outer or outer corner", to hide the connection of the slope and wall panel.

Sequential stages of finishing a window with siding slopes

Window trim without slopes

Finishing a window opening without slopes can be overlapped or at an angle.

overlap

  • Prepare four J-strips, which will be used in place of the architraves.
  • Make an incision on the top rail and bend to the width of the profile. This is done to drain moisture along it into the side profile.
  • Insert the side profile into the top profile so that the folded part of the part enters there. Do not forget to make a temperature gap of 3-5 mm.
  • Insert the side piece into the bottom profile in the same way.
  • Next, a near-window bar is attached to give the appearance of completeness.

Installing J-Strap Window Siding

At the corner

If you design a window opening in this way, then do everything exactly the same as in the first case, but on the upper profile cut off the ends at 45 degree angles, as shown in the figure, given the size of the temperature gap.

Installing the J-profile in the "corner" way

platband

  • Finishing with a platband must begin with measuring the details. Mark on the platband itself a segment that is equal to its width, and then measure a segment equal to the lower length of the window.
  • Now cut a 45 degree corner along the outside of the panel, leaving the inside untouched.
  • The side panels are cut in exactly the same way, and the top part remains untouched.
  • Now glue and fasten the bottom bar.
  • The side planks are glued and inserted with undamaged edges inside the bottom plank.
  • The top panel is inserted into the side parts and screwed with self-tapping screws.

Today's choice of finishing materials is incredibly diverse. One of them is siding - window slopes with such sheathing will acquire a magnificent appearance and excellent performance. Therefore, we will discuss how to implement this option on our own.

Why cover window slopes with trim?

Sooner or later, we may be faced with the replacement of windows - mostly a forced necessity, but sometimes just our whim. In general, the reasons are completely unimportant, most importantly, the result is the same - the decorative finish of the slopes is broken. Many may believe that it is not necessary to restore it immediately, because it is only a matter of aesthetics. However, it is worth considering that the appearance of both the window and the entire facade of the building as a whole is certainly changing.

But besides this, finishing slopes is mandatory for a number of reasons. For example, their integrity is as important for the thermal insulation of the house as the quality of the windows themselves. After all, if it is violated, then cold air will penetrate the room, drafts will appear. In addition, do not forget that the mounting foam, which is blown between the window frame and the opening, collapses under the influence of the sun's rays. Therefore, additional protection is needed, for this purpose they use various materials including siding.

Is siding suitable for window slopes?

So, what exactly is this facing material? The translation of the name sounds like "outer skin". On the territory of Russia, they first started talking about him not so long ago, about twenty years ago. It is a solid type-setting panels of a certain shape. In addition, the process of facing a building with the same material is also called siding.

Siding can be wood, vinyl, ceramic, aluminum, steel, and cement. Each of them has advantages in relation to other types and, of course, disadvantages. The same variety awaits you in the choice of color, its palette simply amazes with the number of shades - even the most picky client will be able to choose the option to their liking.

However, in addition to a rather extensive colors this material has a number of other advantages - for example, you will appreciate the excellent resistance to various chemicals and weather conditions. Also, the siding is fireproof, does not emit toxic fumes, does not fade and is not afraid of temperature changes. After such a finish, the sheathed surface still “breathes”. It is very unpretentious in operation, and the installation of such facing material it cannot be attributed to complex ones, which is why the decoration of window slopes with siding is so relevant today.

Its indisputable advantage is its strength, so that it can withstand moderate mechanical loads quite adequately. Rodents and termites are indifferent to it, so there is no need for additional processing. As the manufacturers promise, this sheathing material is able to maintain its original shape and color for as long as fifty years. In addition, it can be attributed to dielectrics.

There are also disadvantages. Firstly, some types, for example, the same vinyl siding, are prone to thermal expansion. Usually it is only a few millimeters, but if mistakes were made during installation, the coating may wave or even crack. Secondly, he is still afraid of significant shock loads. And thirdly, the highest quality products have a relatively high cost.

Finishing slopes with siding - instructions

So, we have considered how important it is to monitor the condition of window openings, we learned a little about the sheathing material. Now let's get acquainted with how to make external slopes from siding with your own hands.

How to finish window slopes with siding - a step-by-step diagram

Step 1: Material calculation

So, in addition to the panels themselves, there are also a variety of components that will greatly facilitate the work. For example, a special profile is attached around the perimeter of window slopes. Its length is 3 meters. Please note that it is very problematic to join the trimmings of this element, the seam will be obvious, which will greatly spoil the appearance of the entire building, and not just the window opening. You will also need a finishing bar, which is attached to the top and sides of the window frame. Ebbs and a J-profile are also purchased, with the help of which the corners are installed, if any are needed. In general, we make the necessary measurements (length, width and depth of the opening) and, in accordance with them, we purchase material.

To all the figures obtained, take a margin of 10%, sometimes in the course of work something deteriorates, breaks, and trimming may also be needed.

Step 2: Picking a Tool

This issue is solved quite easily, since each owner has the necessary things in stock. We will need a screwdriver, a hammer, a square, a level, a jigsaw or a circular saw (if neither is available, then you can use an ordinary hacksaw or metal shears, only in this case the cut quality will be much worse). You'll also need a tape measure and a pencil, and don't forget to stock up on enough self-tapping screws.

Step 3: Surface preparation

In general, there is nothing new at this stage either - slopes for siding are prepared in the same way as for another decorative trim. It is necessary to cut off excess foam, remove dust, dirt and other debris.

Step 4: Installing the Drains

It is these elements that should be fixed first, it is quite difficult to underestimate their importance, since they protect mounting seam, plus everything else and play the role of soundproofing. So, fixing them is carried out as follows. As with, these elements should protrude slightly from the wall (no more than 10 cm) and from the ends, so their edges are cut and bent in such a way as to make small borders. Next, the ledge is applied a small amount of polyurethane foam, the ebb itself slides close under the frame and is fastened with self-tapping screws. At the same time, keep in mind that it is necessary to observe the slope from the window so that the water flows, as expected, to the ground, and not to the window. To prevent the foam from lifting it, you should put some heavy object on its surface and leave it there until the foam dries completely.

We start the side profiles under the top bar, this will provide more reliable protection. In order for the docking to have an aesthetic appearance, the protrusions of the upper bar should be cut at an angle of 45 °. The lower tongues of the sides can be joined either close to the tide, or lowered a little lower. The siding strips themselves are strung from the bottom up on top of each other according to the thorn-groove system. If the latter does not fit on top, it must be cut off.

The work is done. Thus, if you choose siding as a finishing material, the installation of window slopes is not difficult, and even an amateur can cope with such a task.

Installation of such facing building material as siding is a fairly simple matter. However, many are frightened by the very thought that, while performing the specified work on their own, you will inevitably stumble upon an obstacle in the form of an opening called a window. Indeed, there are windows in residential buildings, but this does not mean that the installation of facing material will be difficult.

In fact, installing siding around a window is as easy as the whole process. Let's see what the assembly of this product is.

Training

First of all, it is necessary to prepare all the construction tools that may be needed for an hour of work. Do not underestimate the significance of this moment, because it determines the convenience and ease of all subsequent manipulations.

So, the installation of such a facing building material as siding requires the use of the following working tools:

  1. Metal scissors. The material is cut with precise movements from the top edge of the sheet. Be sure to ensure that the mounting holes are located in the right place. In addition to the specified tool, scissors are also useful, with which curly cutting is performed. Without them, the assembly of building materials in arched openings is impossible. When using these items, safety measures must be strictly observed so that the installation of the siding does not cause injury.
  2. A hacksaw with fine teeth, designed for woodworking and the same for working with metal.
  3. Knife cutter. With the help of this device, the siding is “notched”. The material is then folded several times at the “notch”, causing the panel to break exactly along the strip mentioned above.
  4. Hammer and screwdriver.
  5. Square. Installing siding around where the window is located requires care. This tool is designed to mark mounting angles directly near windows and on slopes.
  6. The level is one and a half meters long, as well as the water level.
  7. Chalk, with which all the necessary lines will be marked.
  8. Self-tapping screws, with which the siding will be screwed to the wall.

In the following photos you can see which tools are commonly used in these jobs.

The installation of siding around the place where the window is located is also associated with the use of special components.

Accessories

Finishing the wall with siding around the opening in which the window is located is a process of assembling load-bearing profiles made of galvanized metal, as well as installing components for facing work. These elements are special rails that are attached around the entire perimeter of the opening in which the window is located. All of these details are shown in these photos.

In the case when the siding will be installed on the slopes around the window, it is necessary to use double-sided corner profiles.

Mounting

Before the siding is attached to the facade of the building, it is necessary to assemble the crate. What the frame looks like can be seen in these photos.

First, preparation is carried out before the frame is attached. The window is prepared for cladding by removing platbands and other elements protruding above the plane of the walls of the building.

After it is precisely determined that the surface of the structure on which the siding is to be mounted is dry, you can begin work.

If there are irregularities on the surface of the wall, they must be covered with plaster. And in the case when the window has rather large slopes, the installation of an angular profile is required. However, it is more profitable to level the slopes with plaster, and then apply a special primer. How it looks is shown in the available photos.

Before you begin to mount the siding, you need to apply markings to the crate. This requires the following tools:

  1. A square that determines the size of the corner in the opening where the window is located. It should be 90 degrees.
  2. Chalk for marking.
  3. A level that serves as a determinant of the presence of irregularities. This is necessary so that you can align the frame, if necessary. Siding is mounted exclusively on a flat surface.
  4. Water level (water level). It is intended in this case to determine the level of attachment of the supporting profiles that are located around the window opening.

The installation of building materials around the opening in which the window without slopes is located is carried out in this way:

First you need to determine the distance under the window. On all sides of the opening where the window is located, it is necessary to leave a margin that does not exceed six millimeters.
