Agate

"Agate" refers to biological fungicides for plants. It acts not only as a protector of plants from diseases, but also helps to increase the level of productivity. The composition has a beneficial effect on the development of plant roots and significantly increases the germination of seeds. It is usually used in gardening, but indoor plants can also be treated with this drug as a preventive measure.

The active substance of the composition is bacteria and bioactive creatures of microbial and plant origin. The release form is a paste of fluid consistency, packaged in jars of 10 g. For processing, 1 spoonful of the product is dissolved in three liters. Plants should be sprayed every 20 days about 3-4 times per season.

Abigp Peak

"Abiga-Peak" is a contact type of fungicide containing copper oxychloride in its composition. The latter, interacting with pathogenic spores, has the ability to secrete active copper, which just inhibits their growth and respiration, which suppresses the predominant amount of proteins important for life in pathogen spores.

It effectively fights bacterial and fungal diseases on technical, ornamental, vegetable, flower and fruit crops. medicinal plants, grape vine and forest plantations can also be treated with this drug.

To determine the level of acidity of the mixture, an iron nail is lowered into it for 3-4 minutes. If, after this time, a red coating of copper appeared on the rod, the proportions were not observed correctly.

It is necessary to process plant crops during the absence of wind or at its low speed. It is mandatory to use a respirator or at least a gauze bandage. Rubber gloves, goggles and tight clothing are mandatory attributes when working with Abiga.

Alirin

Alirin is a biological drug that suppresses fungal diseases of garden and indoor plants. It has a detrimental effect on powdery mildew, white and gray rot, septoria, rust fungi.

For a ten-liter bucket of water, it is worth using 2 tablets of the drug. This solution is used to irrigate diseased plants. If you need to spray, then the concentrate should be more saturated - 2 Alirin tablets per 1 liter of water. It is recommended to carry out no more than three treatments, while observing the time interval of 5-7 days.

The drug is not dangerous, both for people and for animals, bees, fish.

Albite

Albit is a contact-type biological fungicide. The substance is not hazardous to environment. It destroys viruses that cause plant diseases, and can also be used as a stimulator for the development and growth of horticultural crops. Additionally, it can increase the level of productivity.

The main advantages of the drug:

  • Approximately 10-35% increases the yield of cereals, sugar beet, sunflower, vegetables, legumes, fruit crops, forage grasses.
  • It has a pronounced growth-stimulating effect, promotes the formation and enhanced growth of a powerful root system, the formation of additional productive stems.
  • It has a protective effect, inhibiting the development of a wide range of pathogens of the main diseases of agricultural crops (root rot, leaf rust, powdery mildew, spots, white and gray rot, bacterioses, etc.) by increasing the natural resistance (immunity) of plants to the disease. The biological effectiveness of the drug against diseases is, according to manufacturers, an average of 50-80%.
  • Relieves plant stress from pesticides, temperature extremes and drought. This is especially important when using chemical pesticides, because each treatment of plants with pesticides causes stress and temporary inhibition of plants, which negatively affects the yield and its quality.
  • Increases germination and removes growth retardation of seeds treated with disinfectants, removes growth inhibition in case of overdose of herbicides.
  • It increases the efficiency of the use of mineral nutrition elements by plants due to the reproduction of nitrogen fixers and other beneficial bacteria in the soil, and reduces the consumption of mineral fertilizers.
  • It reduces the number of phytopathogenic fungi in the soil, reduces soil toxicity, and increases soil fertility by stimulating the activity of beneficial microorganisms.

fungal diseases- this is a fairly serious problem for any gardener. If you find that your plant is affected by a fungus, you need to take urgent measures, otherwise it will be extremely difficult to save the plant. This may indicate gray coating on the leaves of the plant. In this case, special preparations come to the aid of all gardeners - fungicides. What are fungicides, what they are, how to use them - we will tell in this article.

Traces of leaf damage by a fungal disease

What is a "fungicide"?

First you need to figure out what it is. Fungicides- These are chemical preparations for the treatment of plants, belong to a large group of pesticides. Translated from Latin, "fungicide" means "killing mushrooms." They inhibit the development and destroy fungi harmful to plants.

How fungicides work is still not exactly known. The vast majority of these drugs act directly on fungi and their spores, disrupting their normal life processes. Some fungicides disrupt the reproduction of fungi, some block the synthesis of proteins and other substances necessary for the life of the fungus, and some disrupt the normal process of fungal cell division.

What are fungicides?

There are many different classifications of fungicides. All drugs according to the method of production are divided into chemical and biological. The first are produced artificially from chemical compounds. And the second group is made on the basis of live bacteria pathogenic for fungi. The advantage of biological ones is that they are less harmful and toxic compared to chemical ones. It is because of this advantage that natural fungicides are often used by gardeners.

Another one fungicide classification- according to the mechanism of action. There are two groups of fungicides:

- preventive (they protect plants from harmful fungi);

medicinal (diseased plants are treated).

Leaves affected by the fungus

Depending on the active ingredients, the composition includes organic and inorganic fungicides.

Inorganic fungicides contain salts of sulfur, copper, iron, potassium, manganese and other substances.

Organic fungicides are made from organic substances. They have a number of advantages: such preparations do not contain heavy metals and other harmful chemicals, are easily decomposed by soil inhabitants and are well combined with other pesticides. But organic fungicides also have negative sides - they are not resistant and are washed out of the soil very quickly. Also, they are not very effective and sometimes they are not enough to cure a diseased plant. On the contrary, their inorganic "brothers" act for quite a long time, are characterized by fast action and efficiency.

Fungicidal preparations are used for various purposes. They can directly process the plants themselves (during the growing season or dormancy), treat the seeds before planting for prevention, and you can also cultivate the soil. But there are also combined preparations, which are suitable for complex processing: seeds, adult plants, as well as soil.

Different fungicides have different localization on the plant. Those fungicides that remain on the surface and act in direct contact with the fungus are called contact, or local. But the effect of such fungicides depends on the amount of the drug, on chemical resistance, and also on the weather, because the drug is easily washed off from the surface of plants by rain.

Another group of fungicides are systemic (or intraplant), they spread inside the plant, destroying pathogenic fungi from the inside. These fungicides are no longer dependent on the weather, their effectiveness is determined only by how quickly the drug penetrates the plant.

Mode of application

Fungicides can be applied in three different ways.

The first is seed dressing before planting. This is done either with a dry powder or with a solution of a fungicide in water.

The second way is spraying adult plants. In this case, the treatment is carried out with a fungicide solution, usually done in spring and autumn (as a preventive measure), and also when the plant is infected with a fungus and needs to be cured.

You can also apply a dry preparation or its solution directly to the soil before planting. Such treatment will destroy fungi that may be in the ground and prevent infection of plants.

All fungicides must be used strictly according to the instructions so as not to harm the plant. You also need to remember that many fungicides are classified as substances of medium danger. But you should not worry if you handle fungicides correctly, they can only harm fungi.

That is why it is very important to observe safety precautions when working with fungicides: protect your hands with gloves, wear protective clothing, wash your hands thoroughly after work. Also be sure to isolate children and pets from the premises.

On the basis of "Green Soap" at home, various solutions for treating plants are made.

Green soap should be used only for spraying plants, it is not recommended to apply it to the soil.

Kurzat

The effectiveness of the action is provided by the main substances - copper oxychloride and cymoxanil.

Copper oxychloride works from the inside, covering the plant with a protective layer, preventing infection by fungi and pests. And cymoxanil, on the contrary, acts from the inside of the plant, quickly spreading through the plant and destroying the fungus.

Together, these two components provide effective treatment and protection of plants. The drug inhibits the reproduction of the fungus, disrupts its vital activity, and also has an antibacterial effect.

"Kurzat" is mainly used to combat late blight and powdery mildew.

Sold as a water-soluble powder.

Maxim

This drug is from the group of contact fungicides. Gardeners use it to treat bulbs and tubers before planting, and it also helps keep bulbs from rotting in storage.

The active substance of this fungicide - fludioxonil - is very similar in composition to antibiotics. It kills pathogenic fungi and soil microorganisms, while not affecting the beneficial soil microflora.

Protects crops from scab, various rot, black leg and other diseases.

Oksikhom

Fungicide of contact-systemic action. Sold in powder form, used for spraying plants. Made on the basis of copper oxychloride and oxadixyl. It is used to successfully combat late blight, macrosporiosis, peronosporiasis on plants both in the garden and in the apartment.

It has a very fast action, the effect is visible after a couple of hours. That is why it is recommended to use it for the treatment of advanced cases of fungal diseases.

It is important to remember that "Oxyx" is not combined with other fungicidal preparations. It is a toxic drug, so the treatment of plants should be carried out at least 20 days before harvest.

Ordan

A complex drug that has both systemic and contact effects. It is based on copper oxychloride and cymoxanil. Due to the combination of these components, "Ordan" performs several tasks at once: copper oxychloride is responsible for the eradication of the fungus, and also has a bactericidal effect; cymoxanil treats the plant and also protects them from reinfection.

One of distinctive features of this remedy is that it is not addictive in fungi. Pathogenic organisms cannot adapt to this drug, which is why it is always effective.

Previcour

The spectrum of action of "Previkur" is quite large. It helps to cope with peronosporiosis, various types root rot, and other fungal diseases. Its main difference from other fungicides is its ability to act as a plant growth stimulator. It acts on the immune system of plants, protects against subsequent infections. It is used for both garden crops and indoor flowers.

Profit gold

Fungicide with a systemic mechanism of action. The two active ingredients in its base, cymoxanil and famoxadone, provide effective treatment for various fungal infections. Cymoxanil penetrates inside the plant and acts on the fungus from the inside, blocking its development. And the second component is responsible for the impact on the fungus from the outside. Famoxadone kills the fungus and its spores and forms a thin film over the plant. It is this systemic action that helps to quickly and effectively overcome the fungus on plants, even in difficult cases. The action of the drug is long.

Gardeners use "Profit Gold" to combat late blight, powdery mildew, anthracnose and other fungal diseases. Also, this fungicide is used to treat and protect indoor flowers.

Rayok

This drug is similar in action to the drug "Skor". "Rayok" is absorbed by plants, so it facilitates the fight against diseases. Also, the advantages of this drug include the fact that it begins to act very quickly, literally in a few hours. It is also rain resistant.

The basis of this fungicide is difenoconazole. This substance directly affects the synthesis of the genetic material of the fungus and disrupts it. Because of this, the fungus gradually dies.

Heals garden trees and other plants from scab, Alternaria and powdery mildew.

It is sold as an emulsion.

Fairly effective contact fungicide. Two active ingredients, mefenoxam and mancozeb, effectively fight the fungus, protecting the plant both from the outside and from the inside.

Mefenoxam penetrates the plant tissue, reaches the lesion and destroys the fungus. To help him comes mancozeb, which acts outside the plant, enhancing the effect of the first active substance. Together they quickly help get rid of the disease.

This fungicide is effective in combating late blight, peronosporosis, and also copes well with downy mildew. Decomposes quickly in the soil without harming beneficial organisms.

This drug is produced in granules, they are dissolved in water and a solution for spraying plants is obtained.

Rovral

It is a contact fungicide intended for the local treatment of fungal diseases. The affected areas are lubricated with a solution of the drug. They can also be used to water the ground before planting.

Mechanism of action: the active substance iprodione stops the reproduction and germination of spores, and also negatively affects the development of the fungus.

This fungicide is effective against verticillosis, fucariosis, late blight, powdery mildew in various garden and horticultural crops.

"Rovral" can be used in small doses for preventive treatment of plants. It is also recommended to treat seeds before long-term storage.

Speed

"Skor" is used for the treatment and prevention of scab, powdery mildew, various kinds of spotting, moniliosis, coccomycosis.

Plants in all phases of development can be treated with this fungicide.

The big advantage of this drug is its speed.

It is commercially available in the form of an emulsion.

Topsin-M

The active ingredient of this fungicide is thiophanate-methyl. Spreading throughout the plant, this component stops the growth of the fungus, and also blocks the processes of sporulation.

Penetration into the plant occurs through the root system.

In addition to fungi, it also destroys insect pests (for example, aphids), as it also has an insecticidal effect.

The positive aspects of this drug also include: speed of action; the ability to use this drug for both treatment and prevention of fungal diseases; profitability; safety for people and plants.

This drug will work better and faster if it has already been used previously as a prophylactic.

Available in the form of an emulsion, as well as a water-soluble powder.

Trichodermin

It is a biological fungicide made on the basis of natural ingredients. He became great alternative chemical pesticides.

The basis of this drug is a strain of saprophytic fungi Trichoderma lignorium. This fungus, when it hits the substrate, begins to actively grow and multiply. In the course of its life, it releases special substances - natural antibiotics. These substances negatively affect the harmful fungus, leading to its death.

To others positive qualities The drug can also be attributed to the fact that it is completely safe for people and animals, does not accumulate in fruits, and is also able to increase the amount of yield. In addition to fighting fungi, it has a beneficial effect on the soil, and also accelerates plant growth.

The effect of the drug is quite long - it lasts about a month.

"Trichodermin" is effective against more than fifty different pathogens of fungal diseases.

Available in powder and suspension form.

Fitosporin-M

This natural fungicide is based on the bacteria Bacillus subtilis. The antibiotics secreted by these bacteria have a detrimental effect on pathogenic fungi that have infected your plants.

Effective against many diseases of a fungal nature, including black rot, rust, root rot, late blight and many others.

It is practically non-toxic, which allows it to be used for the treatment of indoor flowers. Its additional action is to stimulate plant growth.

Available in three forms - powder, paste, solution.

Hom

This fungicide is produced on the basis of copper oxychloride.

It can act as an analogue of the Bordeaux mixture. But the main difference from it (unfortunately, negative) is that “Khom” is very easily washed off with water from plants, so it does not differ in durability.

It is used to combat late blight, peronosporosis, spotting.

The mechanism of action of the drug: after the treatment of the plant, the drug, falling on the foci of infection with the fungus, penetrates into their cells. There, the fungicide acts on the synthesis of substances important for the fungus, and this causes the death of the fungus.

This fungicide is not addictive in pathogenic organisms, so it is always effective in combating them.

Horus

"Horus" is a fungicide with a systemic type of action. It is based on cyprodinil.

It is intended for spraying crops; after treatment, it forms a thin layer on plants that protects them from infection.

It is used for the treatment and prevention of diseases such as scab, coccomycosis, moniliosis, leaf curl and some others.

The advantages of the drug can also be attributed to the fact that it is active and low temperatures, non-phytotoxic, economical, convenient to use.

Content

Fungi are the causative agents of many diseases in plants. For their destruction, special chemical, biological substances are used. Fungicides are one of the varieties of pesticides - products designed to destroy pests and diseases of different crops.

What is the fungicidal effect of drugs on plants

The name of the substances - fungicides - comes from the merger of two Latin words "fungus" and "caedo", which mean "mushroom", "I kill". The compositions are directed against pathogenic fungi that cause plant diseases. Study the effects of fungicides:

  • fungicidal - responsible for the destruction of the fungus;
  • fungistatic - partially suppresses the development of unwanted organisms;
  • prophylactic - prevents the formation of fungus.

Fungicides belong to the category of pesticides: they are included in the group consisting of insecticides, bactericides, nematicides, acaricides. Protective and preventive properties are manifested due to the content:

  • sulfur and its compounds: barium polysulfides, calcium;
  • metal salts: especially copper, mercury, cadmium;
  • salts of dithiocarbamic acids;
  • phenol derivatives;
  • derivatives of triazole, imidazole;

For a detailed acquaintance with the action of fungicides, study their main varieties. Each type is different individual characteristics:

Classification features

Examples of drugs

According to the action on the pathogen: protective, therapeutic.

  • protective - used to treat healthy plants in order to prevent diseases;
  • therapeutic - destroy the existing disease.

According to the purpose of application: standard, for dressing seeds, processing greenhouse and greenhouse land, for perennials during their hibernation.

By the nature of distribution within plant tissues: contact and systematic.

  • contact - active in that part of the vegetation, soil where they were introduced;
  • systematic or systemic - penetrate into the vascular system of the culture, move through its tissues, act for 30 days;
  • system-contact - consist of components of contact and systemic action, this combination is considered the most effective.

According to the active substance: organic, chemical.

  • organic - contain microorganisms that, after exposure to crops, soil, decompose;
  • chemical or inorganic - consist of chemical compounds: rich in copper, iron, mercury, sulfur, nickel, manganese.

Prevention and protection against diseases are carried out with the help of watering, spraying, seed dressing. Methods for using fungicides:

  • dressing seeds, bulbs, tubers - disinfection of planting material is carried out, further infection with a fungus is prevented, the death of seeds, plants;
  • spraying and pollination - contact fungicides are used, the formulations are sprayed onto the affected crops with a spray gun, if necessary, the procedure is repeated, start pollination in the spring, finish in the fall;
  • application to the soil - systemic fungicides are used, which not only effectively destroy fungal spores, pathogenic microorganisms, but are also well absorbed by the root system of plants.

Like any other chemical compositions, fungicides should be applied subject to certain safety rules. Use the following guidelines:

  1. Wear protective clothing before work: gloves, goggles, apron, respirator.
  2. Read the instructions on the package.

In the world there is a huge variety of categories of medicinal preparations for plants, each of which has its own characteristics, principle of action and purpose. Given this fact, today we will consider in detail one of these categories, representing fungicides for plants, and talk about all their features, purposes and indications that will be relevant for all gardeners and gardeners.

Fungicides belong to the category of chemical (rarely biological) drugs, the main purpose of which lies in the prevention and treatment of various fungal invasions in the vast majority of plants that exist on our planet.

In addition, the therapeutic effect of fungicides also has a beneficial effect on the treatment and prevention of several other diseases, which is a kind of pleasant side effect.

How do they act?

Fungicides for plants are divided into two categories, each of which has its own principle of action.

So, contact fungicides are not absorbed and do not spread inside the plant, but only envelop it with a thin film, which both protects and also adversely affects existing fungal invasions, causing their death quite quickly.

Systemic fungicides are absorbed and absorbed by plants, and are also effective against both outdoor and indoor fungal diseases, but are not weathered (fungicide cannot wash away rain).

Regardless of which group fungicides belong to, they all have a similar detrimental effect on the fungus, which is expressed in the following points:

  1. Disrupt the process of fungal respiration.
  2. They neutralize the ability of the nucleus of fungal cells to divide, which is more important for systemic fungicides.
  3. Stimulate the formation in the plants themselves of substances that adversely affect fungi. The resulting substances are harmless to humans and plants.
  4. When applied externally, they can destroy the outer parts of the plant affected by the fungus, simultaneously causing necrosis in them. This measure is necessary to prevent the possible spread of fungal spores into healthy plant tissues after the drug is discontinued.
  5. It removes and breaks down pathogenic toxins in the body of the plant, which can provoke the development of both fungal and other diseases, as well as weaken the immune system.
  6. They prevent the production of ergosterol in fungal cells, the suppression of which also leads to the death of fungal invasions.
  7. Suppresses the formation of nucleic acids in the cells of the fungus, which makes their development impossible.
  8. It inhibits energy metabolism in fungal cells, which finally reduces their vital activity to nothing!

Also, there are biological fungicides, the effect on the fungus of which is in the following points:

As mentioned above, fungicides are of chemical and biological origin, and are divided into:

  1. Contact drugs.
  2. Systemic drugs.

In turn, in each group of fungicides there are preparations aimed at treatment, prevention, or treatment and prevention at the same time, which should be taken into account when choosing each individual agent.

When buying a fungicide, remember that the drugs are great at fighting any fungal invasion, but to increase their effectiveness, purchase fungicides that target exactly one of the above fungi, depending on which one appeared on your plants.

In general, today there are more than 14 chemical classes of fungicides, the list of which is presented below:

  • fungal fungicides;
  • childrenocarbamates;
  • imidazoles;
  • carabamates;
  • morpholines;
  • pyrimidines;
  • triazoles;
  • organophosphate pesticides, etc.

Instructions for use

Often, fungicides are used in three main ways, such as:

  1. Etching.
  2. Spraying and dusting.
  3. Incorporation into the soil.

Dressing consists in treating seeds or tubers with a fungicide for dressing before planting in order to protect the seeds from fungal infection and prevent their death.

Spraying and dusting consists in treating plants mainly with contact fungicides, which are sprayed onto healthy or damaged plants using a spray bottle. As a rule, several such pollinations are carried out per season, starting in spring and ending in autumn.

Application to the soil allows you to rid it of fungal spores and pathogenic microorganisms. Systemic fungicides are used for tillage, so that in addition to disinfecting the soil, they can be absorbed by the root system of the plant.

Fungicides for treating indoor plants are also very popular among the masses, the most effective and safe of which we have presented below:

  1. Fundazol. The fungicide has a systemic effect, and is both a therapeutic and prophylactic antifungal agent that can be treated with most houseplants. Fundazol solution is prepared at the rate of 1 gram of the drug per 1 liter of water. Fundazol can both be watered and sprayed on plants, but when sprayed, it can leave light spots on the leaves that are not dangerous, but spoil the appearance;
  2. Agat-25K. A preventative fungicide that can be used as a light fertilizer. The fungicide is a biological type preparation, and its solution is used at the rate of 1 scoop of the preparation per 3 liters of water. The plant should be sprayed with a solution of about 3-4 times, at intervals of 20 days. The preparation is also suitable for dressing seeds;
  3. Vectra. The drug is effective against powdery mildew, septoria and gray rot. The drug is diluted at the rate of 0.3 ml of the active substance per 1 liter of water. After completion of the treatment, the drug retains its effect for about 2 weeks;
  4. Oksikh. A fungicide that has both contact and systemic action and is great for both garden and houseplants. The drug shows the most pronounced qualities in the fight against diseases such as late blight, macrosporia, black bacterial spot, septoria, powdery and downy mildew. Oxychoma solution is diluted at the rate of 4 grams of the substance per 2 liters of water. The diseased plant is sprayed about 3 times, at intervals of 14 days.

Fungicides for plants growing in conditions open ground, especially as agricultural crops, can be successfully treated with the above preparations, as well as some other fungicides listed below:

  1. Sulfur is colloidal. The drug has proven itself in the fight against powdery mildew, anthracnose, ascochitosis and even mites. A solution of this sulfur is made at the rate of 10 liters of water per 100 grams of the drug. Plants are treated in 5 approaches, at intervals of 2 weeks;

Conclusion

Today we learned the names of the main groups of fungicides presented on the markets of the CIS countries, which will be useful to all summer residents and plant lovers. Remember, when buying a fungicide, be sure to read the instructions, otherwise you risk ruining your plant with an inept selection of dosages.

Fungicides for plants are drugs that are often used for soil treatment to cure flowers or other crops from various fungal diseases. They are also used for prevention.

The word "fungicide" is translated from Latin as "the one that kills the fungus." Such drugs inhibit the development of fungi. The latter are considered the causative agents of various diseases, including powdery mildew, which affects green spaces.

Main types

There are several classifications for fungicides. Depending on their chemical properties distinguish the following:

  1. 1. Inorganic. Usually contain copper, sulfur, manganese, mercury and other substances. You can not combine them with many drugs of other groups.
  2. 2. Organic. Gradually decompose. Heavy metals are not included. This is their main advantage. It is very easy to prepare the solution - you need to dissolve the product in a small amount of water. Such preparations can be combined with various pesticides. They are unstable, so they will remain in the soil from several days to several weeks, after which they are destroyed.

There is another classification of fungicides - according to their effect on pathogens of fungal diseases:

  1. 1. Preventive. Also called protective. They are used to prevent the development of fungal diseases.
  2. 2. Medical. Also known as eradicators. Destroy the fungus that infects the plants.

Depending on the purpose of use, fungicides are divided into those that serve for:

  • tillage;
  • seed treatment;
  • processing plants during dormancy;
  • processing crops during the growing season;
  • spraying rooms where vegetables and grains are located.

More convenient is another group - universal fungicides. Such compounds are used for various purposes, they are suitable for both indoor plants and various garden crops, trees and other things.

Depending on how the components are distributed in plant tissues, fungicides are isolated:

  1. 1. Contact. They are also called local. Substances remain on the surface of the plant and provoke the death of fungal cultures in contact with them. The effectiveness of the treatment depends on several factors: the duration of exposure, the amount of solution used, chemical resistance, weather, and others.
  2. 2. Systemic. They spread inside vascular system plants and suppress pathogens. The effectiveness of drugs depends on the rate of penetration of substances into tissues and their distribution over parts of the plant. Weather conditions have almost no effect.

Some contact preparations also have a deep effect: they will penetrate into the inner layers of the seeds.

There is another classification of drugs:

  1. 1. Chemical. Their main active components are chemical compounds.
  2. 2. Biological. The main active ingredients are beneficial bacteria that provoke the death of fungal cultures. Their advantage is that they have a low toxicity index. As a result, they are becoming more and more popular.

How to apply

Drugs that have a fungicidal effect are used in different ways:
