Check what

First check:

A01 - The burner did not ignite

Why and what to do:

  • Gas is not supplied. Check if the gas supply is interrupted by air trapped in the pipes.

A02 - False flame

Indicator: The green light is on or flashing.

A03 - Overheating

Indicator: Red light flashes quickly.

Why and what to do:

  • Poor water circulation in the system ( normal pressure- 1.2 bar). This may be due to a malfunction circulation pump, getting into the pipes of air or blockage.
  • The circulation pump could fail due to voltage drops if a stabilizer is not installed. Check the resistance on the pump stator.
  • If there is damage on the impeller, the pump will work, but not give the desired voltage.

  • If the pump does not receive electricity, the problem is in the control board. Need to change it.
  • If the pump is working properly, the air has been bled from the system, the pipes have been cleaned, and the boiler is still heating up, replace the temperature sensor.

F04 - Smoke thermostat

Indicator: flashing green quickly. Purpose of the sensor flue gases– turn off the boiler in case of overheating.

In this case, the boiler is automatically blocked for 20 minutes.

Just be patient and after unlocking, start the boiler again. There may not be anything else to do.

Otherwise, you need to check the chimney:

  • whether it is polluted;
  • whether there are ice and other problems that could lead to a violation of traction;
  • Is the length of the pipe sufficient?
  • could there have been a “overturning” of thrust due to strong winds.

If the chimney is in order, it is possible that the sensor itself or the control board is junk.

F11 - Incorrect operation of the DHW sensor

Indicator: Green and yellow lights flash quickly.

Why and what to do:

It could be a short circuit or a broken wire. It is necessary to check the resistance of the sensor, the correct connection of the wires. If the problem cannot be fixed, the sensor will have to be replaced.

F37 - The pressure in the heating has dropped

Indicator: Fast blinking yellow.

Why and what to do:

Most likely, you just need to add water to the system to the desired level. If the problem is due to a water leak, the leak must be found and repaired.

F43 - Heat exchanger protection

Indicator: red and yellow flash alternately.

The boiler will not turn on until the temperature of the sensor drops to 45 0 C.

Perhaps the circulation of water is disturbed due to the fact that the pipeline is clogged (or overgrown with scale). Air could have entered the system. If all this is not there, look for a breakdown in the sensor itself or the circulation pump (see error A03).

F50 - Defective gas valve modulation coil

Triggered when the coil current drops or the circuit is open.

The coil needs to ring for a short circuit between the turns and a break. Normal resistance is 24 ohms.

After restarting the boiler, check the operation. If the error repeats, the problem is in the control board.

A51 - The flame goes out due to problems with smoke removal

With such an error, after restarting the boiler will be blocked for 5 minutes (the fan will continue to work).

What to do:

  • It is necessary to check the pipe and the boiler draft interrupter for dirt, for possible turbulence and overturning of the draft due to wind.
  • Check the operation of the fan: for damage, measure the voltage (normal - 220V). Check the connection of the connectors to the fan.
  • Check the gas valve: if there is a short circuit in the coil, if there are any breaks. Measure the resistance: in the modulating valve it should be 24 ohms. If damaged, replace the valve.
  • Check the ionization electrode: check the gap between it and the burner (the norm is 3 mm), whether the cable is in good condition, if there is a lot of dirt, clean it.
  • Check grounding.
  • If everything is already done, restart the boiler. If the problem persists, change the control board.

Ignition sequence First attempt: voltage is applied to the gas valve and the ignition transformer (the ignition force corresponds to the value P01).

If a flame is detected, further modulation is controlled by the boiler automation. If the flame is not detected, then after the pause "d03" a 2nd ignition attempt is made.

With each subsequent attempt, the sequence of automation is the same as described above. In the event that after all ignition attempts the flame is not detected, the automation generates a malfunction signal, the display shows error A01.

If the ignition of the burner was successful, but then the flame went out, then before starting the re-ignition of the boiler automatics, Ferroli waits 50 seconds, the display lights up "d03".

If one of the ignition attempts was successful (the torch was detected), and then the power supply to the gas valve was lost, then the ignition is repeated according to the scenario described above.

If there is excess moisture in the combustion chamber, then the ignition transformer electrode closes to the ground.

Gas does not flow to the burner

1. Shut-off valve closed. Open all shut-off devices installed on the gas pipe.

2. In case of initial start-up, make sure that air has been bled from the piping.

3. Check the gas inlet pressure upstream of the gas valve. The nominal pressure value is 20 mbar.

4. Check that the Min. and Mach. gas pressure on the nozzles to the recommended nominal values. If necessary, adjust the boiler for gas pressure. Faulty gas fittings (gas valve)

If fault 1 is found, replace the gas valve.

The ionization ignition electrode is faulty or does not work correctly:

1 - Check the ionisation ignition electrode for dirt.

2. - Make sure that the nominal gap (3.0 + 0.5 mm) is set between the burner and the I ignition/ionisation electrode.

3. - Check the electrode cable for mechanical damage.

Error A02

False flame warning

If, with the burner off, the flame control system, within 20 seconds, detects an ionization current, the Ferroli boiler automation generates an error.

In this case, if there are no current requests for ignition of the burner, the torch symbol flashes, if there is a request, the symbol is on.

2. Make sure that there is a nominal (3.0 ±0.5 mm) gap between the burner and the ignition/ionization electrode.

3. Check the electrode cable for mechanical damage.

Too much low power ignition

Adjust the ignition power in the service parameters menu (parameter P01).

1. Faulty ignition transformer

2. Check the quality of the ground. There should be no potential on the case.

Blockage in the presence of excess condensate. Remove excess condensate from the combustion chamber, ignition/ionization electrode and burner.

Ferroli boiler overheating

1. The temperature of the emergency thermostat has exceeded 105 C (if at this moment there is no request for ignition, the error is not registered).

2. The burner went out due to the temperature exceeding in the heating system (90 ° C - in heating mode; 95 C - in test mode and hot water), but the heat exchanger continued to heat up, the automation blocks the boiler if the temperature on the safety sensor exceeds 105 within 10 seconds WITH.

3. If in the heating or frost protection modes the safety sensor detects a temperature above 105C, the boiler automatics starts counting the 30 second interval. If during this time the temperature of 2 sensors (heating temperature, emergency thermostat) does not fall below 100 C, the automation generates an error.

4. Boiler blocking when the burner is requested to be ignited. If at the moment the flame appears, the temperature of the emergency thermostat exceeds 100 C, the automation waits 10 seconds, then generates an error signal.

Circulation pump not working

1. The circulation pump does not gain nominal speed. Check the power supply parameters, the voltage should be 230 ± 23 6.50 Hz. In case of increased or decreased supply voltage, it is recommended to connect the boiler to the mains through an autotransformer-voltage stabilizer. Check the resistance of the stator winding of the pump motor for an open or short circuit

2. The pump is operating normally, but the pressure is not sufficient. Check the pump impeller for mechanical damage. If a malfunction is found, replace the pump

3. Power is supplied to the circulation pump, but it does not rotate. Check the pump for blockage. To do this, unscrew the plug on the front side of the pump and use a slotted screwdriver to turn the rotor shaft of the pump motor several times. If a malfunction is found, replace the pump.

4. The circulation pump is not powered. Malfunction of the control board.

Error F04

Flue gas thermostat overheating (only in Ferroli boilers Domiproject DC)

If the flue gas thermostat contacts open during boiler operation, the burner immediately goes out and an error signal is generated. After 20 minutes, the microprocessor checks the status of the flue gas thermostat. If the contact is closed, then the burner can start, if the contact is open, the boiler will continue to be in a blocked state.

Error F05

Fan not connected (only in Ferroli Domiproject DF boilers) When the burner is requested to be ignited, the control equipment checks the fan load.

If the load is not detected, then after 15 seconds the automation generates an error. During operation and the presence of ionization, the absence of fan load leads to an immediate shutdown of the discharges for ignition of the burner. If the connection is not restored within 15 seconds, a fault signal is generated.

Error A06

Extinguishing the flame 6 times within 10 minutes

The condition under which the flame is considered extinguished is that the burner has been operating for at least 10 seconds and the flame signal suddenly disappears. If this situation is repeated 6 times within 10 minutes of operation, the boiler automation generates an error A06.

Check inlet gas pressure.

1. Nominal gas inlet pressure must be 20 mbar.

2. Check whether the Min. and Mach. gas pressure on the nozzles to the recommended nominal values. If necessary, adjust the boiler for gas pressure.

The ignition / ionization electrode does not work correctly or is faulty

If necessary, replace the ignition/ionization electrode.

The fan blows out the flame on the burner

1. The diaphragm of the smoke exhaust system is incorrectly selected. Replace diaphragm.

2. The fan is not working properly. Check the voltage supplied to the fan (the voltage should be 220 V).

Error F08

Overheating of the heat exchanger

When the temperature in the heating circuit exceeds 99 C (for 5 seconds), the temperature sensor of the extract air is activated. The error disappears when the coolant temperature drops to 90°C

The control is carried out by an overheating sensor and an RH temperature sensor.

The error is stored in the error history menu. It is not displayed on the display and Ferroli does not block the boiler.

Error F10/F14

Short circuit or break in the target of the heating water temperature sensor

If there is a short circuit or a break in the target of the RH temperature sensor (the signal disappears for 3 seconds), a command is sent from the control board to turn off the burner.

Malfunction of the safety NTC sensor of the heating circuit

The combined extract air temperature sensor consists of 2 identical sensors, both sensors have an overheating protection function. Failure of one of the sensors (short circuit or target break for 3 seconds) entails the shutdown of the burner ignition commands.

Faulty semiconductor NTC temperature sensor OB

1. Check the resistance of the semiconductor sensor. Nominal sensor resistance at room temperature-10 KΩ

Short circuit or open circuit of the DHW sensor

Gas valve malfunction

Error F34

Low voltage in the network (alternating current) has dropped below 180 V, the boiler automation generates an error. The error is eliminated as soon as the voltage rises above 185 V.

Low voltage in the power supply network

Check the power supply settings. If the network parameters do not correspond to the nominal values ​​(2206/50 Hz), install an autotransformer-voltage stabilizer.

Error F35

Current frequency error

The control board operates on AC 50Hz/60Hz. If there is a discrepancy between the selected frequency and the current frequency in the network, the boiler automation generates an error.

Selected frequency of non-consumed current

In case of initial start-up or replacement of the control board, the value of parameter b06 must be selected.

Error F37

Pressure drop in the heating system

The pressure switch contacts have opened for more than 5 seconds.

The pressure in the heating circuit has dropped below 0.8 bar.

1. Coolant leakage in the heating system. Check the heating system for leaks. Repair leaks and energize the system.

2. Faulty pressure switch RH. Replace the RH pressure switch if necessary.

Error F39

Short circuit or open sensor outdoor temperature

The error occurs if an outdoor temperature sensor is connected and the weather-compensated control function is active. A sensor failure does not result in the shutdown of the burner ignition commands.

1.Check the resistance of the semiconductor sensor.

If the difference in readings between the emergency thermostat and the RH temperature sensor in absolute value exceeds 12°C, the boiler automation generates an error.

1. Check the resistance of the semiconductor sensor. The nominal resistance of the sensor is 10 kOhm.

In addition, if a negative result is obtained, and the boiler automation determines that the measured parameters do not correspond to high-quality combustion, then an attempt will be made to restore the correct parameters by changing the modulation current: this is accompanied by a flashing torch symbol. If the adjustment is successful, the burner can continue to work.

Otherwise, the flame will go out, the display will show error message F20 and the fan will turn on. After about 50 seconds the error is canceled and the boiler automatics ignites the burner.

F41 - Lack of temperature change dynamics (heat carrier or DHW water) in a given time interval

Heating mode

With each new request for heating power, the temperature determined by the sensor in the pressure circuit is monitored. If this temperature changes by ± 1 C during the first 20 seconds after the request is received, and the burner has been turned off, then the system takes this as a positive test result.

If the temperature, determined by the pressure circuit sensor, does not change by ± 1 C during the first 20 seconds after the request arrived when the burner was turned off, then the system perceives this as a negative result of the test and performs a second test, until which no alarms are generated. generated. Otherwise, the control system extinguishes the burner and after 40 seconds starts the third ignition attempt, which lasts no more than 25 seconds from the moment the gas valve opened.

If during this time the temperature detected by the pressure circuit sensor changes by ±1C. then for the control system this means that the check has given a positive result and the start-up cycle can continue, and, accordingly, there will be no more checks during this heating power request cycle. Otherwise, the burner goes out and the flame control equipment generates a fault message no. 41 and blocks the boiler (restart).

The pump continues to be commanded for the programmed overrun time. In frost protection or test modes, the boiler automation behaves in the same way as described above, but with a different duration of the waiting intervals of 15 and 20 instead of 35 and 40 seconds.

Flue gas thermostat overheating - wait for the sensor to cool down and restart it.

Error F05 - The fan is not connected (only in Ferroli Domiproject DF boilers).

When a burner ignition is requested, the control equipment checks the fan load. If the load is not detected, then after 15-20 seconds the automation generates an error. During operation and the presence of ionization, the absence of fan load leads to an immediate shutdown of the discharges for ignition of the burner. If the connection is not restored within 15-20 seconds, a fault signal is generated.

If the error occurred during the initial start-up of the boiler, the chimney may not have been installed correctly.

  1. Check the polarity of connecting the connectors to the contacts of the air pressure switch.
  2. The diaphragm is incorrectly matched to the boiler (the diaphragm allows narrowing the cross section of the smoke exhaust channel). Replace diaphragm. When choosing a diaphragm, be guided by the instructions for the boiler.

Error F08 - Overheating of the OB heat exchanger.

When the temperature in the heating circuit exceeds 99 C (for 5 seconds), the temperature sensor of the extract air is activated. The error disappears when the coolant temperature drops to 90°C.

The control is carried out by an overheating sensor and an RH temperature sensor. The error is stored in the error history menu. It is not displayed on the display and Ferroli does not block the boiler. The error is registered by the OB temperature sensor.

Error F10 / F14 - Short circuit or break in the target of the heating water temperature sensor.

If there is a short circuit or a break in the target of the RH temperature sensor (the signal disappears for 3 seconds), a command is sent from the control board to turn off the burner.

Check the resistance of the semiconductor sensor. The nominal resistance of the sensor at room temperature is ~10 kOhm.

Error F20 - Combustion control.

Low voltage in the network (alternating current) has dropped below 180 V, the boiler automation generates an error. The error is eliminated as soon as the voltage rises above 185 V.

Error F35 - Current frequency error.

The control board operates on AC 50Hz/60Hz. If there is a discrepancy between the selected frequency and the current frequency in the network, the boiler automation generates an error.

Error F37 - Pressure drop in the heating system

The pressure switch contacts have opened for more than 5 seconds. The pressure in the heating circuit has dropped below 0.8 bar.

Coolant leakage in the heating system. Check the heating system for leaks. Repair leaks and energize the system.

Faulty pressure switch OB. Replace the RH pressure switch if necessary.

Error F39 - Short circuit or open circuit of the outdoor temperature sensor

The error occurs if an outdoor temperature sensor is connected and the weather-compensated control function is active. A sensor failure does not result in the shutdown of the burner ignition commands.

Error F43 / F41 - Operation of the heat exchanger protection.

The fault occurs in both heating and DHW mode. If, when the burner is switched on, the heating intensity of the heat exchanger is higher than that set by parameter (P15), the extract air temperature sensor signals a fault. The burner is turned off with a delay, (12 s. - in heating mode; 20 s. - in DHW mode, 0 s. - in Comfort mode. The error resolves itself as soon as the temperature of the heating circuit sensor drops to 45 ° C.

  • There is no coolant circulation (the pipeline is clogged, the pump is faulty);

Error F50 - Malfunction of the gas valve modulation coil

Ignition sequence

No gas flow to burner

  1. Shut-off valve cover. Open all shut-off elements that are installed on the gas pipe.
  2. If a first start-up is being carried out, check that the air has been bled from the piping.
  3. Check the incoming gas pressure in front of the gas fittings. The standard pressure is 20 mbar.
  4. Check whether the set min. and max. gas pressure on the nozzles to the required standard values. And if necessary, adjust the boiler for gas pressure.

No flame on burner

Insufficient gas pressure in the gas pipeline or its absence.

Codes with the symbol "f" are reset automatically, after the malfunction has been eliminated. The most common malfunctions on the Ferroli gas boiler are: lack of ignition (a01), smoke thermostat operation (f04).

Error 01 - no ignition of the burner, the boiler does not turn on. Possible causes and how to fix them are described below.

Error 02, blocking - a false signal about the presence of a flame when the burner is off on the Ferroli, Domina and Domiproject models, the reasons for its occurrence:

Faulty ignition electrode:

  • Inspect the wires connecting the electrode and the board, measure the circuit between them for a short circuit.
  • Check gap between electrode and burner, adjust if necessary.

The control board may be defective. in this case, it must be replaced. On Domina boilers, when this code occurs, one indicator is off, yellow is on, red is flashing.

Error 03 means boiler overheating, appears if the thermostat has overheated. The code will not appear if the burner was not working at the time of overheating. The safety device is activated when the temperature in the heating circuit exceeds 90 degrees, and the temperature of the hot water supply is more than 95 degrees.

Ferroli boiler thermostat

In the Ferroli Domiproject C24 mounted models, the sensor is triggered at a temperature of 105 degrees. If the unit does not start after cooling down, the following malfunctions are possible.

Sensor failure:

  • Wait for the unit to cool down and restart it.
  • Inspect the mechanical connections of the sensor, troubleshoot.
  • Check the sensor for a short circuit and open circuit, if defective, replace.

Error 04 appears when the smoke exhaust thermostat is triggered, the burner goes out, the boiler is blocked. After 20 minutes, the automation checks the thermostat, if its contact is closed, the boiler remains in a blocked state.

Error 8 or error f08 appears when the heat exchanger overheats, when the coolant temperature exceeds 99 degrees and disappears at a temperature of 90 degrees. This code appears before code 03, is not fixed on the display, can only be seen in the code history. Causes and remedies are the same as when code 03 appears.

Error 51 indicates problems with smoke removal. The causes and remedies are similar when code 04 appears.

Error a01 - no ignition of the burner on models with a display, the boiler does not turn on. Why it appears and how to eliminate it is described in code 01.

The reasons for the appearance of error a03 are the same as for code 03 on boilers with light indication, it is eliminated in the same way.

Boiler temperature control

Error a06 lights up in the absence of a flame some time after ignition, when the flame goes out 6 times within 10 minutes.

Error a21 means a malfunction of the combustion control system on Ferroli Domiproject boilers. With this error, the boiler may periodically light up and fade.

Error a51 warns of problems in the smoke exhaust system. See the description of error 04 for the reasons for its appearance and ways to solve the problem.

d1

Error d1 is not a malfunction of the boiler, the code means a delay before the next start.

d2

Error d2 is not caused by any malfunction, this parameter means the waiting time before the next heating cycle of the heating system.

d3

The parameter d3 is not an error, it means a waiting time, about 50 seconds, before the next ignition.

d4

Before restarting the boiler, the display shows the code d4, which is not an error, it means a pause between starts of 5 minutes.

f04

Error f04 appears in Ferroli Domiproject DC devices if the exhaust gas removal thermostat is overheated.

Exhaust thermostat

  • Broken chimney draft. Clean out the chimney.
  • Chimney installed incorrectly. During installation, it is necessary to take into account the design features that exclude air turbulence and reverse flow.
  • Sensor failure. Check the mechanical connection of the sensor wires to the control board. Check the sensor with a multimeter, if necessary, replace it.
  • Faulty board. If all of the above is in good condition and after restarting the boiler gives the same error, check the board, in case of a malfunction, replace it.

f05

When the boiler is started, the fan does not turn on, the system generates an error f05 (f05).


f10

Error f10 indicates a sensor malfunction in the supply circuit.

  • Sensor damage. Ring the sensor contacts, if it is faulty, replace it with a new one.
  • Short circuit or open circuit in connecting wires. Check with a multimeter for a short circuit, check the reliability of the connections.
