Step by step instructions for making a swan

Despite the fact that a do-it-yourself swan made of plastic bottles is quite easy to do, nevertheless, you must carefully follow the entire sequence of actions. Manufacturing process plastic construction takes place in several stages.

Manufacturing of blanks

All elements that are required for manufacturing must be prepared very carefully and carefully.

Preparation of liter bottles

The stage consists in carefully removing caps and rings from the bottle necks, as well as removing all stickers and labels.

Open liter bottles

Cut the bottle along the marked lines

To perform a smooth cut, it is necessary to apply a preliminary markup.

The bottom marking line should recede one centimeter from the uppermost corrugated part and run parallel to it around the circumference of the entire bottle. The top line should recede two centimeters down from the bottle neck and run parallel to it along the circumference of the entire bottle.

Both parallel marks are connected by a third straight line. Then the most accurate cut of the plastic is performed in accordance with the markings made. The result should be three parts.

Preparing parts for the neck

To make the neck, it is necessary to cut the neck part of the blanks to the thread into six identical fragments. The cutting of the conical part is performed into eight fragments.

All corners formed as a result of the cut must be rounded off, and three paired holes must be made at the base of the resulting “petals”.

Preparing parts for the head

From a half-liter bottle, cut off the neck with the cork. Next, parallel cuts are made on the cylindrical part of the bottle until it passes into the cone-shaped part. The guideline for the first cut is the injection seam, and all subsequent cuts come in increments of five millimeters.

We straighten the ends of the clothespins for the swan's beak

In order for the clothespin-beak to lie as tightly and evenly as possible, it is necessary to slightly melt its ends and pierce a pair of holes with an awl.

Through the holes of the clothespin attached to the bottle neck, it is required to make similar holes in the plastic. In addition, it is necessary to make holes for the buttons-eyes, choosing the most optimal place.

Preparing parts for the body

For the manufacture of the body of a swan, a five-liter bottle is ideal, in the bottom and lid of which a pair of holes should be made to secure the frame of the wire neck. A small "window" is cut out in the sidewall of the bottle, which will allow the hand to pass freely into the bottle.

Assembling a swan from blanks

Finished elements must be assembled in a certain sequence.

head making

We fix the eyes and insert the beak. The resulting voids are filled with foam

To fasten the eyes, buttons and a piece of thin wire are used, which are twisted inside the bottle with pliers. By means of synthetic threads, a clothespin-beak is sewn on, from which the metal ring is removed.

To fasten the two halves of the clothespin, you need to use adhesive tape. Free space in the beak it is filled with a piece of foam and isolon, on top of which a double-sided adhesive tape and a piece of red cloth are glued.

Neck making

We string the prepared six-petal details on the neck

A strong and thick wire bent in half should be passed through the wire fastening in the head of the swan. A synthetic winterizer is laid inside the head, and corks are strung on the wire, which alternate with six petal details.

The fringe, made on the head, should be tightened with fishing line at the neck.

Making a torso

Initially, the neck wire is passed through the bottom of a five-liter bottle, and then exits from the holes in the cap. The wire is guided by hand through the cut "window".

To stabilize the position of the finished swan, fill the bottle with small stones, which will give weight to the body. The ends of the wire are fixed at the outlet of the cover in the form of a tail. Elastic tights are stretched over the frame of the entire body in a double layer.

Fletching performance

Sew on feathers

Cut out "petals" of feathers must be fixed on the body, starting from the tail section. Each subsequent row of feathers should slightly overlap the previous one, which allows you to hide the attachment points.

Strong synthetic threads are used for fastening. The plumage of the ends is carried out by attaching single plastic "petals".

Content

Making a swan from plastic bottles is hard work. But, after completion, you put it in a conspicuous place and it will look very beautiful and natural. It takes about 30 hours to make, but if you have someone to help you, you can do it in half the time. Basically, you will need junk material to work.

Making a case for a swan from bottles

The basis of the case will be an old car tire with a diameter of 50 - 55 centimeters.

Be careful not to injure yourself when working with the tire, steel bars can protrude from it.

After selecting the appropriate tire, cut it in half, then cut off 10 centimeters from one side of the tire. Twist both halves of the tire so that it looks like an egg shape and a diameter of 45 centimeters. Our body is ready and waiting for all other parts.

swan head

To make the head, you will need foam, putty and paint. First, take a large piece of foam, 20x12x10 in size. From it we will cut out the very head and beak. We process the finished parts with sandpaper until all roughness and irregularities disappear. On the back of the head, we make a small hole 5 centimeters deep for attaching the neck. After completing the work with sandpaper, we take the putty and apply it evenly over the entire head. After the putty dries, we bring the surface to the ideal one with the help of finer sandpaper. After that, we start painting. We need paint of three colors: white, blue and black. We cover the corresponding parts of the head with paint, leave to dry. Our head is ready. The head is more difficult to make than all the details, but with the desire and a little skill, this is not a problem.

Neck

To make the neck, we need a rod and a corrugation. Corrugation can be taken from an old unnecessary vacuum cleaner or, if one is not available, bought in a store. Length 70 - 80 centimeters. Since we will paint the corrugation white, it must first be cleaned. As for the rod, we do not recommend taking a steel one - it is very difficult to bend it and it can burst. The length of the rod is 2 meters. On one side of the corrugation, we make cuts, the head will join these cuts. Using self-tapping screws, we fasten the corrugation to the body and head, thereby covering the rod.

The next stage is the wings and tail of a swan made of plastic bottles

To make wings, you will need 35 - 40 white plastic bottles, mesh for construction works and tools. It is desirable to paint the mesh white so that it does not rust. Tools: pliers, wire cutters, screwdriver, copper wire, knife. You can buy plastic bottles in stores that sell packaging. 4-6 feathers will come out of one bottle. We cut the bottle into pieces and form a feather. On one side of the pen we make four holes into which the wire is inserted.

It is better to take copper wire, as it will bend easily.

Construction mesh can be bought at a country goods store. We carefully connect the feathers with wire, laying one feather on top of the other so as to hide the junctions. One wing takes approximately 2-3 hours.

Tail

To make the tail of the swan, you will need the same mesh that we used to make the wings. It will take up to one hour to make. You need a mesh of 45 by 20, with pointed tips. The process of making a tail is no different from making wings: we take feathers pre-cut from plastic bottles and fasten them to the grid.

When you close the feathers, they will not give in well and stick out in different directions. Try to align them to one side.

Connection and installation of the finished swan

After all the details are ready, you can start connecting. First, choose a place where you will put the swan and install a board, bricks or an old car tire on which it will then be installed. Connect the body to the neck with self-tapping screws. Bend one end of the rod so that it can be fixed into the ground. Then attach the wings and tail, connect the wing in front with wire, and in the back with a rod. Then fasten the tail. And finally, screw the head to the corrugation with screws.

For example, flowers from plastic bottles are a great opportunity to demonstrate your taste and skills. In fact, making them is not difficult - you will need imagination and a little time. Believe me, hours fly by for such creativity, and the end result always brings pleasure.

To create such a beautiful decorative necklace, we need the following materials:

  • green plastic bottle
  • clear plastic bottles of various sizes
  • paints
  • yellow bottle caps
  • colorful buttons
  • scissors
  • threads
  • wire
Manufacturing process
  1. To begin with, we take transparent bottles and cut off their lower part, we get the basis of each flower - its petals. Next, cut out the middle in several blanks, and leave some of the blanks intact.
  2. We paint our petals in different colors and let dry.
  3. Next, we insert yellow covers, pre-lubricated with glue, into the flowers with cut out centers - these are the cores of the flowers.
  4. In integral petals in the middle we make two holes with an awl, attach buttons and tie them with threads.
  5. Cut out petals from a green plastic bottle. If you do not have such a container, then you can use an ordinary transparent bottle, and simply paint the finished petals green.
  6. Next, we connect the flowers from plastic bottles with the petals using a wire. To do this, we pierce small holes, form a circle of wire and string alternately either a flower or a petal.
As you can see, it will not take much time to create such beauty, and the end result will be excellent.

Swans from plastic containers, a master class with a photo

A fairly simple and affordable way to decorate a summer cottage are swans from plastic bottles. They can be decorated in different ways - as an interior figurine or as a flower bed.

Making a swan from plastic bottles is a creative process that needs preliminary preparation. To create a composition, you need to stock up on all the necessary materials.

For work we need:

  • white plastic bottles
  • one clear bottle
  • wire

Manufacturing process
  1. First of all, it is necessary to form the silhouette of a bird. To do this, cut off the neck of a transparent bottle, insert a wire into the bottle and bend it so that the figure resembles the bend of a swan's neck.
  2. Let's start cutting white bottles. From plastic, we cut feathers of different sizes, at the end of each we make a fringe with scissors to make the plumage look realistic.
  3. Now let's take care of the blanks for the neck of the swan: we need the narrowest parts of the bottles, which are located near the neck. We cut them on both sides and also form a fringe on the wider edge.
  4. On the wire, which will eventually become the graceful neck of a bird, we string all these details. And we glue the body in the form of a plastic bottle with ready-made feathers of different sizes: the closer to the tail, the longer the feathers should be. You can add a swan with a cardboard red beak and a golden crown, and instead of eyes, sew on buttons.
The next decor option is a swan flower bed made of plastic bottles.

When planning to make a swan flower bed yourself, think in advance what the neck and head of the bird will be made of. It can be wood, polystyrene, or just fabric dyed in desired color. The most interesting and durable material is, of course, wood. It will not be afraid of rain and snow, and will be able to serve as a flower bed for many years.

Take one board, draw a silhouette of a swan with a pencil, cut it out, paint it white, draw black eyes, a red beak and, for example, a yellow crown. Dig in the resulting wooden base birds to the ground. Next, cut the plastic bottles in the middle, and form a flower bed out of them in a circle from the swan's neck. Plastic bottles can be left transparent, but if you have time, it is better to cover them with white paint - then the swan will seem alive.

Here is another visual example - a swan made of plastic bottles (video):

Such a craft will ennoble your garden or cottage - take note of our recommendations for making this beautiful bird from plastic bottles.

Palm tree from plastic bottles, master class with photo

Decorate your country cottage area you can use such an unusual tree as a plastic palm tree. In our latitudes, it will surely attract the enthusiastic glances of passers-by. But the creation of such beauty will take not too much of your time and all the plastic bottles in the house.

You need to pre-assemble a large number of bottles of two colors - green for the leaves and brown for the trunk, as well as determine what size our finished creation will be.

Let's start creating a tree.

  • First, let's deal with the trunk of a palm tree. To do this, we take brown bottles, get rid of all the labels, and in case of contamination, wipe the container with a damp cloth.
  • Next, cut the bottom of the bottle so that there is still 20-25 cm from its total height. Along the edges we cut out the cloves, which are slightly bent to the outside. At the bottom of the bottle, using a drill, we make one hole exactly in the center. We prepare as many bottles as needed for the height of the trunk of your future palm tree.

  • Next, we connect all the brown blanks by inserting one into the other. For maximum fixation, the contact line can be lubricated with glue.

  • And the last final stage in creating a tree trunk: we take metal fittings or a thin wooden trunk of the required length, and string all brown bottles on it. You can glue them together and string them all together, or string them one at a time, lubricating the areas of contact with glue.
  • The last stage is palm leaves. First, get rid of the bottom of the green bottles by cutting it with scissors.

  • Then we form palm leaves by cutting the bottle as shown in the photo.

  • After all the bottles are cut, we prepare a thick wire and string all our leaves on it. The length of the wire should be what you want to see one palm branch. It is desirable that the length of all tree branches differ by 5-20 cm - this way your palm tree will look more realistic.
  • With the trunk and branches ready, we need to connect them together. To do this, you can use welding to securely fix each wire with reinforcement or simply hook them together with pliers.
That's what a beautiful palm tree from plastic bottles we got.

Think carefully about where you want to place the finished tree - dig a shallow hole, pour cement mortar into it, install a palm tree, fill the hole with stones and let it harden well. If you use this method of installing a palm tree, you can achieve a strong fixation and not be afraid that the tree will fall over time. But you can use another method of fastening - just dig a hole, bury the reinforcement well in the ground and sprinkle it with stones and sand. Such a fixation will be less strong, but it is also considered quite reliable.

As you can see, such ornamental plants can decorate not only a summer cottage, but also any adjacent territory.

Peacock from plastic bottles, a master class with a photo

How to do beautiful swans, you already know. Now we propose to start creating another bright and colorful bird - a peacock from plastic bottles can become your main creation at their summer cottage.

Manufacturing consists of three stages: visualization of the finished bird, preparation of the entire required material and the creative process itself. Each of these stages is important in its own way, but today we would like to focus on the third.

Our master class will help you easily create a peacock from plastic bottles.

To create a peacock we need:

  • a lot of green bottles of 1.5-2 liters
  • one bottle 5 l
  • blue or light blue 2 l bottles
  • scissors
  • metal grid
  • scotch
  • colored paper for applications
  • foil
  • stapler
Having prepared the material, we can begin to create our miracle bird.
  • We cut green and blue plastic bottles so that we get peacock feathers. You need a lot of bottles and different sizes, so we stock up on patience and try to complete this monotonous work as quickly as possible.

It would be nice, of course, to have a beautiful lake with white and black swans on your site. On a quiet warm evening, you can turn on the backlight, Tchaikovsky's music .... However, they say that it is better to have a tit in your hands than a crane in the sky. This also applies to the swan, so with some diligence with your own hands from plastic bottles you can create an almost living proud bird in your garden.

All sorts of different swans from plastic bottles

We will make a reservation that we have already touched on this topic.

In the photo below you see how a swan-pot is created from a five-liter container using gypsum.

It must be admitted that there are many options for assembling a swan from plastic bottles. As soon as you set to work, you will do something in your own way, and you will get another performance. Below we consider four characteristic designs. There is no dispute about tastes, and you will choose what you like best. We will discuss the features of each proposal and give master classes for their manufacture.

Three variants of the snow-white bird

I liked the plywood version the best.

First of all, I want to tell you about the most interesting. The swan figurine in the photo below is made using plywood and white plastic bottles. It is convenient to fix the plumage of a plastic bird on a flat sheet. Little material is required. An elegant and thin neck is well reflected by a sheet of plywood. The body of the swan takes on a three-dimensional shape.

In general, an elegant craft is created quickly and easily. Step-by-step instruction next:

Light and airy bird using polyethylene film

A proud bird for the garden can be assembled from a five-liter eggplant and plastic wrap. The appearance of such crafts, of course, attracts attention.

Consider the master class step by step:

  1. Two holes are made in the bottom and cork of the container and a wire is threaded through, as seen in the image below. The wire will provide a frame for the neck and tail of the craft. In the bottle, you can cut a window through which you can manually guide the wire inside the case.
  2. The container is folded in front and behind to give a smooth outline to the bird. The required form is fixed with adhesive tape.

  3. Next, we need isolon. If there is no finished strip, you can cut tapes with a width of about 7 cm from a material with a thickness of 3-10 mm.

The entire workpiece is wrapped with isolon tape. The material is fixed with adhesive tape. The latter helps to smooth out the irregularities of the isolon. To form the head of a bird, several layers of isolon are required.

  4. Now you need to prepare a plastic tape to simulate the plumage of a bird. To do this, cut from a film 100-150 microns thick tapes 70 mm wide. The strips are cut across to a depth of 50mm in increments of 5-10mm. It is convenient to fold the film in several layers to speed up the work.

  5. The tail, body and neck of the bird are wrapped with a prepared tape. Each turn of the film is fixed with a narrow adhesive tape. The next layer is shifted by 20 mm relative to the previous one.

  6. It is convenient to make the eyes of a bird from black buttons. They are sewn to the head in the right place.
  7. A good beak will come from a red marker. Several short longitudinal cuts are made on the body of the marker to form the wide part of the beak. The marker is placed on the frame wire. The swan is ready!

Metal mesh and tire for a large swan

You will get a large bird if you use a car tire and mesh as a supporting structure. The tire can be half buried in the ground, or cut in half. In the latter case, the craft can change its location. You can hide it for the winter. The neck is made of wire, on which a corrugated hose is put on. The rubber of the wheel and the plastic of the hose must be primed so that the paint will hold properly.

The bird's head is made of foam. The workpiece is sanded, puttied and painted. It is better to use putty and water-based paints that will not spoil the foam.

Two bird wings are made of plastic feathers attached to a mesh frame. The feathers may be shaped as shown below. They are attached to the grid with pieces of thin copper wire through holes in the blanks. The wings are attached to the tire with wire.

As follows from the picture below, the grid is cut out in the form of an oval with jagged edges. Well suited galvanized welded mesh with a cell of 20x20mm.

Front side the wing looks pretty good. We make two wings.

As you can see in the picture below, the fenders can be reinforced with thick wire supports at some distance from the tire. It will turn out a large and voluminous swan with spread wings. However, the craft is not the best appearance behind and will have to find an appropriate location for it in the garden.

This scheme requires two car tires. In addition to the wings, it is necessary to make a tail using the same technology.

A lot of bottles, a lot of work - and you get an almost live bird

"Delicious for the third." In conclusion, consider the fourth option, which looks great. However, it will take a lot of containers and even more patience when making crafts.

Master class for making a swan from plastic bottles:

  1. We make a blank from a five-liter eggplant and a wire with a diameter of 3 mm. We pierce holes opposite each other in the bottom and cork of the bottle. The container can be cut through to adjust the wire from the inside.

  2. To make a bird's head, take a white bottle with a narrow neck. Cut off the lower part and cut along in 5mm increments, as shown below.

  3. We make a beak from a red cap and a cap from building sealant. Cut a hole in the cork and insert the red cap into it.

  4. The eyes are depicted with a black marker. The narrowing of the head will be formed on the narrow part of the neck detail, which is shown separately. During assembly, an elastic band for money is first put on the neck, which is then changed to a fishing line. It is better to melt the edges of the fishing line with a match so that the knot does not come loose.

  5. We make the details of the neck, as in the photo. They may have a slightly different size, it is normal to install in different places.

  6. The image below illustrates how the neck pieces and head will be installed. For finishing the head upper part wire frame clings to a copper wire bent in half. Then the beak is unscrewed, and the copper wire is passed through the head. A thin wire is bent and wrapped around the threads of the neck of the bottle. The beak turns again.

  7. In order for the parts on the neck to be evenly spaced and form a smooth bend of the neck, it is necessary to wind the isolon around the wire. The latter is secured with tape. Instead of isolon, bottle caps with holes can be used.
  8. To attach the "fur coat" of the swan to the body of the workpiece, we stretch the stocking. We put isolon on the chest of the bird to organize a convex shape. We tie the stocking with twine.

    It shouldn't sag!

  9. To make the tail plumage, cut out the details shown below. We make holes through which we sew the details to the stocking.

  10. The image below shows how to mount the tail pieces.

  11. The lower bend of the tail closes the element of a special shape.

  12. The body of the bird is sequentially sheathed with the details shown below. In places of bends it is convenient to use separate ovals. The wings located on the sides are cut from the side in increments of 3-5 mm. Accuracy of work determines the type of future crafts.

We have completed the review various options making a white swan for the garden. If you do not limit your imagination, you can build both very simple and quite complex beautiful bird crafts.

The graceful bird has always fascinated with its grace. It became possible to place a symbol of fidelity in your garden, having everyone at hand available material. Information on how to make a swan from plastic bottles, offered in three options, will allow everyone to choose the most appropriate way.

Swan planters from bottles

Differ in a different category of complexity. A step-by-step guide will help even a novice master to cope with the task of decorating a swan. The main thing is to be patient. One 5L bottle and more plastic containers white color with a volume of 1 l - the main material of a spectacular craft. You will also need:

  • metal rod for the swan's neck;
  • fishing line, adhesive tape and thin wire for connecting individual parts;
  • metal mesh serving as the base of the wings.

Preparation of individual parts

The making of a swan precedes preparatory stage. Work begins with the cleaning of plastic bottles from the remnants of labels and glue. On a clean container, markings are made according to the photo. The upper line is drawn 2 cm below the neck, the lower line is 1 cm higher than the corrugated part of the plastic bottle. There is a perpendicular line between them. The cut is made as straight as possible.

For the neck, parts from plastic bottles with a neck are cut into 6 parts, cylindrical elements are divided into 8 fragments.

Attention! All corners on the blanks are rounded, 3 paired holes are formed at the base of the petals.

A neat swan head is obtained from a 0.5 liter plastic bottle as follows:

  • the neck with the cork is removed;
  • on a cone-shaped section, an incision is made along the seam;
  • all other incision lines go with a gap of 0.5 cm;
  • the ends of the clothespin, which will play the role of a swan's beak, are melted over the fire;
  • holes are pierced on them with an awl, holes are formed at a similar distance in a plastic bottle.

The basis of the swan's body is a 5-liter container, on the bottom and lid of which holes are made to fix the neck. The opening on the side should allow the hand to easily get inside the container.

Assembly process

When the individual elements of the swan are decorated, you can proceed to the assembly of parts:

The result of a painstaking process is spectacular swan from plastic bottles, similar to the photo below:

Combination with tire

There is another interesting and affordable option for making a bird with a majestic neck bend.

Frame

According to the proposed master class, a swan made of plastic bottles will turn out to be no less bewitching. The main difference is that the function of the trunk is performed by a tire with a diameter of 50-55 cm.

Hull shaping:

  • The cover is cut in half. Work carefully so as not to injure yourself with the cord.
  • One part is shortened by 10 cm.
  • Both parts are connected in the shape of an egg about 45 cm wide and securely fixed.

The result will be the workpiece shown in the photo:

Head

Making a swan head:

  • The basis of the part is polystyrene 20x12x10 cm.
  • The head with the beak, after cutting out, is carefully polished with sandpaper.
  • A 5 cm deepening is prepared at the back of the head to fix the neck.
  • The swan's head is evenly treated with putty.
  • After the solution has dried, the surface is polished with paper of a finer grain size.
  • The workpiece is coated with white, black and blue paint. An example is the following photo:

Neck

The process of creating a bird neck based on plastic bottles:

  • A rod about 2 m long is given the desired shape.
Advice! It is better to refuse a steel part, it is too difficult to bend and can burst.
  • Corrugations will need about 80 cm. When using old material, it is thoroughly cleaned of contaminants.
  • One edge of the corrugation is made with cuts for mounting the swan's head.
  • The swan's neck is fixed to the body and head with self-tapping screws.

Plumage

For the plumage of a swan you will need:

  • plastic white bottles - about 40 pieces;
  • construction mesh;
  • pliers and knife;
  • wire, cutters.

Painting the mesh with white paint for outdoor use will help to avoid corrosive processes. One plastic bottle serves as the basis for 5-6 swan feathers. On each blank from a plastic bottle, 4 holes for the wire are prepared. Optimal use copper material which bends easily. Feathers are connected with overlapping wire to hide the connection areas. The process of formation of the wings and tail of the swan is identical, the difference lies only in the outlines of the grid.

Mounting and installation

When all the parts from the tire and plastic bottles are ready, they begin to assemble the swan. The site where it is planned to locate decorative figure, is made out with bricks, a board or a car tire. This will be a kind of podium.

The connection of the neck with the body is carried out with self-tapping screws. The end of the rod is bent in such a way that it is possible to fix it in the ground. The wings are fastened together with wire, clamped at the back with a rod. Next, the tail of the swan is fixed. The head, made from a plastic bottle, is screwed to the corrugation with screws. An elegant bird made of plastic bottles with your own hands will become a worthy decoration of the site.

Grace in the garden

Another craft option based on a large plastic bottle also has practicality, thanks to the possibility of placing flowers inside.

Basic manufacturing steps:

The swan is a symbol of fidelity, so it would be logical to make a beautiful bird a couple. This composition will not leave anyone indifferent.

The proposed master classes will help transform landscape design with minimal financial expenses. The main cost is your time and patience. Good luck with your work!
