Method one

Method two

Method three

Varieties of roller blinds

In the traditional version, roller blinds are made of woven fabric based on polyester. The fabric may contain linen or cotton fibers. Thanks to special impregnation, the canvas acquires the necessary rigidity and dust-repellent properties. At the bottom of the structure is a weighting bar that prevents deformation.

When lifting the curtain, the fabric is wound on a special shaft. The web guide mechanism can be one of three types:

  • chain;
  • electromechanical.

Uni systems

Such curtains are called minicassette. They are installed on PVC, wood or aluminum window sashes. Minicassette roller blinds have the smallest shaft. Its diameter is only 15 mm. Mini roller blinds

Mini systems are similar to Uni. Products are also mounted on window sashes using self-tapping screws or special brackets. The bracket is mounted to the end of the sash without drilling. This option is suitable for tilt and turn windows. If the sash is deaf, self-tapping screws are used for fastening.

Roller blinds "Mini" are called open. They do not include a roll cassette and guides. Dignity Mini systems is a low price compared to cassette counterparts.

Roller blinds for skylights

For window decoration attic floors specially designed roller blinds are used. By type of design, they are similar to minicassette. Measurements for ordering horizontal blinds

Horizontal blinds can be fixed in three ways:

  1. on the sash;
  2. in the opening;
  3. on the wall.

2. Measurements for fastening the blinds inside the window opening should be made at least at 3 points, both in height and in width, since window openings are very often not quite rectangular. Of the three received digits, it is necessary to choose the smallest value.

To determine the width of the blinds, you need to measure the width of the glass and add to it the width of one sealing gum.

The length should be equal to the height of the glass, together with sealing rubber bands and a margin of 1 cm.

Please note that the blind cornice will protrude 36 mm on both sides and check that it does not rest against slopes or hinges. In addition, it is necessary to provide that the assembled blinds do not interfere with the opening of the window.

The chain for raising the blinds is usually located on the side of the hinges, and its length is equal to 2/3 of the height of the window.

3. In the event that the blinds are planned to be fixed on the wall, then their width must necessarily be 10 centimeters greater than the width of the window opening. The height is determined independently. You can choose the size of the blinds so that they are just above the window sill, or they cover it completely. But the length of the blinds should be 5 centimeters longer than the window opening, since the cornice of the product is fixed there.

In addition, the control option should also be provided: left or right.

Determination of parameters of vertical blinds

Vertical blinds are mounted on plastic windows in three ways: in the opening, on the wall or to the ceiling. A variety of textures and colors, as well as ease of installation and subsequent maintenance, have made vertical blinds very popular in recent years.

1. In the event that the blinds will be attached to the window opening, you need to measure the width of the upper part of the window and subtract 2 cm from it, this will be the width of the blinds. Then you should measure the height of the opening on the left and right, select the smallest value, subtract 1 cm from it, the result will be equal to length blinds. In addition, you need to decide on the control side (left or right), as well as the direction in which the blinds will open.

2. For blinds that will be attached to the wall, the width will be equal to the window opening plus a minimum of 10 cm. And the length should be 5 centimeters more than the height of the window opening. If the window sill protrudes beyond the line of the blinds, then their length should not be more than the window opening. And if the window sill is hidden by blinds, then a few more centimeters should be added to their length.

3. When installing the blinds to the ceiling, you need to measure the height from the ceiling to the window sill and subtract 2 cm from the result. This will be the length of the blinds if the window sill protrudes beyond the line of the window opening. And if the blinds hide the window sill, then their length will be equal to the height from the ceiling to the window sill plus 5 cm. The width should exceed the window opening by at least 10 cm.

Instructions for taking measurements for roller blinds

Roller blinds are also mounted both in the window opening and on the wall.

1. When taking measurements for attaching curtains to a window opening, it is necessary to measure the width of the opening and subtract 4 centimeters from this value. This will be the width of the curtain. And the height of the window opening to the window sill will be equal to the length of the canvas. In addition, you will need to choose the color of the fabric and the type of mechanism, as well as its location - left or right.

2. For roller blinds that are mounted on the wall, it is enough to measure the length from the window opening to the window sill and add 5 cm to this value. And the width of the curtain can be arbitrary, how much wider it will be than the window opening depends on the personal preferences of the customer.

Cassette roller blinds

This type of roller blind is attached directly to the window frame and in order to obtain the required dimensions, it is necessary to measure the width of the window from one glazing bead to another. And the length of the roller blind is equal to the height of the window along the edges of the glazing bead plus 20 mm.   • to display accurate data, subtract 15 cm from the width indicator, and 1 cm from the height indicator.

The second way to fasten the blinds is to install on the sash. This method allows you to leave the window sill free. In this case, it is necessary to measure the borders along the glazing bead and measure the width of the sash, and in several places. Just as in the first case, you need to choose the highest indicators, and then add 1 cm to it, and 3 cm to the length.

Measurement for vertical blinds

It is important to decide how you are going to hang the blinds. If you want them to be located in the inside of the window opening, then you should measure the distance from the soffit (window beam) to the window sill and its width. If you want to hang blinds outside the opening, then the shape and size of the curtains may differ from the shape and size of the window.

Measurements for installing blinds in the opening

Classic

The first step is to determine the type installation work, or rather, where the classic roller blinds will be located: on the outside of the opening or inside the opening. You should get the following values ​​for the measurement:

  1. Width (hereinafter - "b") from 0.5 to 3 m;
  2. Height (hereinafter - "h") from 0.5 to 3 m;

outdoor installation

For outdoor installation, the following steps will be required:

  1. For the value of b, the distance between the ribs of the cap is taken into account. 6.8 centimeters are added to it.
  2. The distance between the outer parts of the structure should be less than a couple of centimeters (from 0.25 to 1.2 m).
  3. H for this design is the distance between the lower and upper points of the system plug (from 0.2 m to 1.5 m).

Mini

In the Mini design, mini curtains are installed on each window sash separately. To do this, you need to know the value b of the light opening. It increases by 0.4 centimeters to account for the glazing bead and fasteners. All other calculations are similar. The side for the location of the control device is chosen arbitrarily. The chain for winding the fabric on the pipe is considered as 2/3 of h.

The latch for the lower eaves is placed when the window sash has a tilt-and-turn mechanism. Thanks to this, when airing, the flaps will not hang over the window sill.

The retainer for the lower eaves has two types of fastening:

  1. magnetic, in which magnets are mounted on screws;
  2. brackets on the line.

Methods for attaching the upper eaves:

  2. on double-sided tape;
  3. on hanging brackets - for the sash.

Measurements for roller blinds Mini. The first step is to measure the width and height of the glass (to the sash). 3 centimeters are added to the numbers for the width and 12 for the height. Next, the location of the control mechanism is determined. It is better if it is near the loop. Next, the method of fastening is selected (screws or double-sided tape).

Mini curtains are installed only on the sashes.

UNI

There are two types of curtains of this type - UNI-1 and UNI-2.

UNI-1

The type is suitable for different windows, with different design features. Very popular in modern design. The color scheme of the box is easily matched to the color of the frame, creating visual integrity. The standard size is 200×175.

To select this type, the following measurements are required:

  1. To the height between the ribs of the glazing bead, 2 centimeters are added for a margin.
  2. Width is measured in the same way without any additions.

Curtains of this type have one drawback - the lower bar rubs against the glass, which leads to the appearance of bevels and even cracks. This minus is especially manifested with a glazing bead depth of 2 cm.

UNI-2

This type is the most acceptable and versatile. Mounted on almost any surface with different relief. If the bead depth is more than 2 cm, then this option will be the most acceptable. Uni-2 curtains have guides in the form of the letter "P", which ensures a clear fixation and no friction. The likelihood of cracks and bevels is extremely small.

Measuring the roller blind for size selection:

The width must be measured by the outer dimensions of the curtain rails. To calculate the desired height, the value of the external dimensions is added to the height of the box (about 7 cm). The most recommended value by experts is from 1 to 2 centimeters, since if an error is made, the excess can be cut off by removing the plugs from the pipe.

Profile

Before purchasing the system, the profile should be measured:

  1. b between the corners of the sash.
  2. h, taking into account the size of the glass, the sash to be opened.

In addition to plastic windows, the "Profil" system is installed on the door.

Day Night

Roller blinds can be installed different ways. Distinguish external and internal fastening, fastening on a frame.

Required measurements for each method:

  1. For outdoor installation, b is measured and 15 centimeters are added to it. In the h dimension, plus 15 centimeters is added to the size of the opening.
  2. For internal fastening, it is necessary to measure at three points h and b. Suitable for height smallest values. If the slopes are angular, then the mark is the place where the canvas is attached. For b, 5 millimeters are subtracted from the measured value, and h remains unchanged.
  3. Mounting on the frame is carried out by measuring b on the bead and h of the frame. The minimum distance from the fabric and the handle should not exceed a centimeter. Marks are made directly on the product.
