How to tint a flower pot with gold paint. We paint flower pots. Little ballerina. Music Box

After the winter cold, you want to revive your interior, add bright colors to it. The easiest way to start doing this is with little things, for example, with flower pots, painting them and ennobling them. Mineral or acrylic paints are suitable for painting standard clay pots, and only acrylic paints for plastic ones. On sale there are aerosol dyes suitable for all surfaces.

To paint classic clay pots, you need white paint, it is needed for the base, if you want to depict bright, contrasting patterns. You can buy a can of white paint from a hardware store and separate colors that will save you money and create different colors from them as you see fit. How to paint a flower pot quickly and easily? There are several techniques for painting a flower pot: using a template, or simply drawing colorful fantasy elements without a template, and decoupage is often used.

Templates can be bought at specialized flower shops or made independently by printing the picture you like from a computer, transfer it to tracing paper (very thin transparent paper), and cut out elements from it to make a stencil. Small and bright floral motifs, such as roses, will look good on a beige clay pot. Simple, a stencil can be made using adhesive tape. Cover the pot with it and remove when the paint dries. Get geometric shapes.

The "marine" theme is very popular in terms of decor. Paint bright white and blue stripes with acrylic paints. After they dry, stick on top of the blue beads, beads, decorative sand, pebbles, small shells, painted white, and other medium-sized items in tone. Paint the seagulls with black paint or nail polish. Such pots are suitable for any interior, refresh it.

How to paint a flower pot correctly and without streaks? First, prepare its surface by removing dust and dirt with ordinary vinegar. If the pot is new, paint can be applied immediately. Sometimes a damaged pot requires a base, that is, PVA glue, which is diluted with water in a ratio of ½. Cover the surface of the vessel with a continuous layer. Now we need to make the background.

Do not forget that if the paint is acrylic, it does not need to cover the bottom so that the plant can breathe. After that, you can proceed to the next stage of work, that is, to painting the pot with contrasting colors. If you used acrylic paints, then after they dry, it is advisable to fill everything with acrylic varnish so that the drawings are not damaged.

To give the pots brightness and beautiful view you can use not only paints, but also various colorful shreds, paper with interesting ornaments. From above they also need to be varnished. After work, if acrylic or water-based paints, brushes should be washed with soap, other types of paints are removed with acetone solvent.

Whether you want to match the color of your flower pots with your decor, or simply add a pop of color to a white window sill, you can paint regular earthenware pots in warm and subtle colors.

WE NEED:

4 clay flower pots

White matte #1007 (or primer #68 or #168)

Cream №33 (Cream)

Green №27 (LeafGreen)

Blue No. 15 (River Blue)

Gloss varnish Bosny No. 190 - optional

Old wallpaper or newspaper

1. Before painting, the pots must be washed, dried and, if necessary, degreased. If they are new, it will be enough just to wipe them with a damp cloth.

2. We put the first pot on the pre-spread newspapers.

3. As a primer coat, apply Bosny No. 1007 matte white paint. On this basis, the primary colors will be juicier and brighter, besides, it will fill the pores and significantly reduce the paint consumption. If you want to paint the pots in more dark color, you can also use primer Bosny gray #68 or red-brown #168.

4. After the primer layer has dried (after about 10-15 minutes), apply a thin layer of the main color paint. We paint the entire outer surface of the pot, as well as upper part inner surface (about 2-3 cm from the edge).

5. After 1-2 minutes, apply the second layer. If necessary, apply more thin coats of paint until the desired degree of color saturation is obtained.

6. After the paint has dried (after about 10-15 minutes), you can apply an aerosol gloss varnish. This will make the surface shiny and protect it from dirt. Thanks to a layer of paint and varnish, the pots will be easy to clean and will take on a neater look.

7. Repeat the same procedure with all the other pots, alternately painting them in different colors.

ADDITION

On the side surface of the pot, after applying the paint (when it dries), you can use a stencil to apply some drawing or inscription in a contrasting color. And then open the entire surface with varnish.

2. Shake the can well before use.

3. The paint is applied from a distance of 20-25 cm.

4. After work, the can must be turned upside down and press the spray button until it goes fresh air. After that, the can with the remaining paint can be stored until the next time - there will be no dried paint on the sprayer that would clog the sprayer valve and prevent reuse.

5. Although Bosny paint dries very quickly (from dust in 10-15 minutes), it is recommended to use painted objects no earlier than a day later, when the coating is completely dry.

Pots and trays can be easily found at hardware stores. The designs in this book are best suited for unglazed pieces, which are made from special clay and fired in kilns to give them their characteristic terracotta color. Choose new, uniformly painted pots with a uniform surface without defects. Acrylic paints (matte, metallic, glitter) or ordinary art paints in tubes are suitable for painting ceramics (they should be diluted with water before use). Neither of these are waterproof, so if you are going to place the product on the street, be sure to coat it with varnish - acrylic (available in aerosol form), water-based or polyurethane-based. Thus, you protect the surface from moisture and dirt. A pot that has been enamelled for glass and ceramics and has been fired in an oven can be washed. Refractory enamels of some trademarks dried without heat treatment.
A medium for blurring colors makes them more transparent, making dark and bright hues mix to form streaks. Glazing medium creates the effect of a glassy coating.

Finishing glue for decoupage is used for gluing paper applications and covering them with a protective layer. Such a product is not resistant to moisture and is not suitable for a pot that you are going to put on the street.
Paint brushes are flat, oval and round, wide and narrow. A flute brush and liner may also come in handy. Experienced artists recommend using high quality tools, thoroughly washing and caring for them so that they last longer. When working with a stencil, use brushes with flat bristles that allow you to apply paint evenly. Sponge brushes with a width of 25 mm are suitable for applying base paint, glue, decoupage products and crackle (creating the effect of cracking). Spongy rollers are also convenient for painting pots. Nail polish brushes have short bristles. Sponges are suitable for applying paint and creating a variety of textures. Pressed sponges can be cut into any shape with scissors and used as stamps.

Completing of the work
1. Wash the pot with vinegar and water to completely remove dirt and grease. Scrub it with a brush if necessary. Let dry.
2. If holes need to be drilled, use a carbide drill. Holes are made before painting,
because the pot may crack or break.
3. Transfer the drawing to the product. To do this, redraw the selected template (from the book or at your discretion) on tracing paper. If necessary, enlarge or reduce it with a photocopier. Lay the tracing paper with the image on the surface to be decorated, placing carbon paper under it with the ink layer down. Trace the lines of the drawing with a ballpoint pen.
4. Color the pot according to the intended pattern. After drying, apply varnish or other protective coating

In our house, they do not always fit the interior of the room, and are often simply nondescript. Spring is coming and we want to transform our house, put things in order in all corners and come up with something new for comfort in our apartment. Why not start with flower pots, because they are always in sight - standing on the windowsills or somewhere near the window. At the same time, we will transplant plants that are tired during the long winter months into fresh soil and updated pots. First we need to decide what we want to change in appearance their flower pots. Maybe we are tired of their dull brown or gray color? Then everything is simple: take acrylic paints, a brush and change the color. Do not forget that before you start painting the pot, it must be well washed, dried and degreased (to do this, wipe the pot with nail polish remover or alcohol with a cotton swab).

It is necessary to pay attention to what material the flower pot is made of. If it is plastic, then before painting the pot, prime the entire surface of the pot with PVA glue, let it dry, and then paint it in the desired color with acrylic paint. Except acrylic paints, you can use spray paint.

When the paint dries, if you don’t get an even and beautiful layer, paint the pot again and let the paint dry well again. To fix the result, cover the pot with acrylic varnish. Only when the varnish becomes dry, proceed to planting a flower in a pot.

As you can see in the photo above, the pots are not just painted with paint of one tone, but they draw drawings that anyone who can at least hold a brush in their hands can easily draw. The advantage of coloring flower pots with your own hands is that you can come up with any drawing or pattern and try to bring it to life.

It's pretty easy to decorate earthenware pots, especially those that aren't glazed. The surface of the pot is porous, so such a pot must also be primed with PVA glue before painting. When the glue is dry, carefully paint the pot in two coats. When the paint dries, start painting.

If you wish, you can decorate several flower pots in one theme and transform any room in the house with their help. Here are the pots that the boys might like.

And girls may like pots with flowers, butterflies (dragonflies) or birds.

If your child already knows how to draw something, try coloring together flower pots. Surely you will have a good and interesting time.

Children will surely be delighted with pots with eyes and spouts. They can serve as containers for small toys.

For the kitchen, paint the pot with flowers, berries, teapots or polka dots.

For the bedroom and living room, dream up and draw something that fits the interior of the room.

When inspiration comes, drawings are quickly thought up and immediately brought to life.

Sometimes even the drawings on the pot seem not enough to us, but we want to add something else so that the flower pot or pot turns into something extraordinary. Then you need to look at home, what can be glued to the pot so that it stands out from a number of its fellows. It can be anything: beads, sequins, buttons, plastic and felt flowers and other small decorations. You need to glue on super glue or glue from a gun.

In a similar way, you can transform your flower pot by completely pasting it with shells. Such a pot will support well maritime theme in the room.

Flowerpots and pots decorated with shells can decorate not only a room, but also a balcony, terrace or porch in a garden house.

If the pot turned out well, you should not plant a plant in it that will cover the results of your work with its leaves. Plant in it, for example, cacti that grow slowly and do not hang down.

A ceramic or plastic pot can be pasted over with pebbles. To attach the stones, you can use super glue or glue from a special gun.

Simple plastic pots, after being decorated with pebbles, are transformed beyond recognition.

Have you ever tried to use textured plaster to decorate pots? And you try. Get interesting results. Apply textured (embossed) plaster to the pot and use a comb or notched trowel to apply any pattern you can think of onto the wet plaster. It is important not to smear the applied pattern, but to gently dry the pot. In the future, the plaster does not crumble and does not peel off.

Another noteworthy way to decorate flower pots is by gluing pieces of tree branches. Take thin branches of a tree (preferably not resinous species), garden nippers and prepare wooden "rounds". Start gluing them to the pot with hot glue from the bottom and continue until the entire area is filled. Alternate between small and large pieces of wood. When the glue dries, cover the pot with acrylic varnish.

And if you don’t want to cut the branches with wire cutters, just put two rubber bands on the pot and gently push the equally cut branches under them around the entire pot. Then tie the branches together with twine.

Such pots can be decorated with thin branches painted with silver or gold paint and natural or artificial berries.

Many ways to decorate pots have already been invented. Perhaps you can come up with something of your own. Here I also bring to your attention how you can decorate pots with lace. Cut out fragments of lace and glue to the pot, which is primed with PVA glue. Next, the pot with lace needs to be painted.

To decorate the pot with twine, you will need a twine reel, PVA glue and a brush. Take a pot and coat the strip with PVA glue. Carefully start winding the twine around the pot. Further, also to the very top of the pot: coat the strip with glue and wind the twine. Then let the pot dry. Twine can even be painted any color with acrylic paint.

If you suddenly want flower pots to repeat the colors of curtains or curtains, then you need to take the fabric from which the curtains are sewn and make a pattern for the pot. To do this, on a clean piece of paper, “roll” the pot from one to the other edge of the sheet and draw two rounded lines: along the upper and lower edges of the pot. Measure the circumference of the pot from above and below, these dimensions should correspond to the lines you have drawn. Cut out the pattern and lay it on the fabric, securing with needles. By the way, do not forget to leave an extra 1 centimeter on the top and bottom of the pattern in order to be able to tuck the fabric. Glue the cut fabric with PVA glue to the pot, decorate as you wish.

From unnecessary knitwear, sew these “suits” for your pots. Look spring fresh and beautiful.

You might like the pot just wrapped in burlap.

Pots in matting bags look great, somehow it immediately becomes homely.

Everything that you read above makes sense to do with flower pots if they are still whole, without cracks, and ceramic ones do not crumble and do not crumble. And if there is no point in transforming old pots, then take them to the dacha and make such a funny “pot” company out of them.

Good luck to all!
