Pumps pumping station Grundfos. All about the pumping stations of the German company Grundfos: characteristics, prices, reviews. More about models and their characteristics

According to specialists from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the introduction of the best available technologies (BAT) into the production of industrial enterprises is a priority development program designed to protect the environment. Visit of experts to Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill, celebrating its 75th anniversary this month, has shown that this enterprise is a model example of the use of BAT in its activities.

What is NDT?

The concept of BAT or best available techniques in means the application of the latest, advanced achievements of science and technology in the work of an industrial enterprise, negative impact which on nature is minimized, and the terms of their operation and the level of safety for humans comply with existing standards. In other words, technologies that are economically accessible and beneficial for widespread use, characterized by a minimal harmful impact on the environment.

BAT is a term that came to Russia from the West. It was in the European Union for the first time in 1984 that the BAT principle was developed and implemented, which, at that time, related to the protection of atmospheric air from harmful industrial emissions.

Among Russian environmentalists, this principle has spread quite recently - in 2014, on December 30, the first national BAT standards were approved, prepared by a specially created Bureau of the best available technologies.
To date, there are the following provisions and preliminary national BAT standards adopted in Russia:

The standards came into force from January 2015 and are considered valid after 3 years.

Use of the best available technologies

The program for the transition to the widespread use of BAT provides for a whole system of motivation for industrial entrepreneurs - part of it is the reduction of annual environmental payments in exchange for increasing the competitiveness of the facility and strengthening environmental safety. Nevertheless, to date, this program still needs to be debugged, experts admit. Examples of best available technologies are contained in handbooks and are mainly related to the field of waste management: these are waste loading stations, dryers, incinerators, hydroprocessing devices, etc. - but not yet all industrial enterprises can afford such a transition.

Ecologists consider the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill to be the best example of BAT implementation. modern technologies. Modernization of production is beneficial for the plant both in terms of savings and in terms of increasing the stability and safety of production.

Reducing the cost of processing raw materials for an industrial facility and reducing the harmful impact on the environment are only part of the benefits of introducing BAT, experts from the Ministry of Natural Resources note, who express the hope that the pulp and paper mill in Arkhangelsk will become one of the first successful “swallows” of the new program.
