The most important feature of this type of television is its accessibility and simplicity. Even people who do not have a TV can view channels. For this, a smartphone of average power is enough. But if you are a happy owner of Smart TV on Android, then the system setup procedure looks quite simple.

  1. We establish a TV connection to WiFi in order to get stable access to the Internet.

These applications are available for free, and the choice is considerable, so that a person can choose the one that he likes best.
  3. You will definitely need to take a program to add a playlist to the player menu, of course, if this function was not configured by default in the application itself. If not, then you can contact PlayMarket again.

The only thing left to do is to figure out how to install the best of the channel viewing applications, so carefully read the reviews of other users on the players.

Now many Internet providers offer IPTV service. This is about new technology, which allows the effective transmission of a television channel through the public Internet.

Unlike traditional forms digital television, such as satellite, terrestrial or cable, IPTV is interactive service, which operates exclusively on the Internet. And today you will learn how to set up IPTV on Android.

IPTV (from the English Internet Protocol Television) can be called a new generation of television with technology that has no restrictions on both the number of channels and the quality of the transmitted content. The possibilities of IPTV can be limited only by the bandwidth of the IPTV operator's network, as well as by the Internet provider that provides the Internet service to the end subscriber.

By connecting to IP-TV, you can watch TV broadcasts not only while sitting at home on the couch, but also anywhere where you have a device for connecting to the Internet and, in fact, a network connection.

Internet protocol television can be called broadcasting for one viewer, since it turns out that IPTV is an individual network where everyone can choose content based solely on their desire.

Setting up IPTV on Android

You can watch IP TV different ways. Now we will tell you how to do this through the IPTV application for Android devices, with which you can watch IPTV from your Internet provider or other Internet source. Through this program, it is possible to download a playlist of available channels in m3u format, and then watch the selected channel through the video player installed on the device.

So let's download the app. Installation field, configure it. To do this, by opening the program, go to "Settings", select "Channel List" and enter, provided by the provider, the Internet address of the file with the playlist:

So far, unfortunately, the program cannot download a playlist from the memory of an Android device, therefore, if we need to download our own playlist directly into the application, we can use the Dropbox service on the PC for this, in order to then upload the file to the public library (English Public ). After that, we get its address by copying it to the clipboard. What we do for this: right-click on the file and select Copy Public Link:

If your Wi-Fi router is equipped with a built-in UDP proxy, then this, in fact, is the whole setup procedure. That is, having now returned to the main screen of the program, we can already select a channel from the list and watch its broadcast on a smartphone / tablet.

However, it is possible that viewing programs via IPTV may be accompanied by problems in the form of an image containing many artifacts or loss of fragments of the video stream. This, with a high degree of probability, means that the router used does not have a UDP proxy. In this case, we will need to organize our own proxy. We will do this using any computer connected to the router using the LAN connector.

How to set up a UDP-to-HTTP proxy

First you need to download the program (for Windows UDP-to-HTTP, for Linux). Now we launch the program and enter two addresses: “UDP multicast interface”, as well as “HTTP server interface”. We can see that they are identical and also match the IP address of the network connection with which the PC is connected to the router. You can find it out by right-clicking on the network connection icon, and if you have Windows 7, select: "Status" -\u003e "Details":

If you have Windows XP, then select: "Status" -\u003e "Support".

After entering the IP address in the UDP-to-HTTP proxy, click the "Save" (or "Remember") button, and then, "Run".

Now, in the application, go to the settings menu, in the "Proxy Settings" section, enter the IP address and port specified in the UDP-to-HTTP proxy, now select the type of proxy server (Linux or Windows) and activate the "OK" button:

The basic settings of the UDP-to-HTTP proxy application can be considered complete at this point. Optionally, for convenience, we can either select a specific video player to watch the video, or mark "Selected by the system", in this case, it will be possible to select the desired player each time when starting to view the channel:

*Note:

  • In order not to run the program on a PC every time for viewing, you can run it as a service by clicking the "Install" button in UDP-to-HTTP, then it will start automatically when the computer boots.
  • If the UDP-to-HTTP proxy does not start on the PC, you need to make sure that the application is not blocked by an antivirus or firewall.

Happy viewing!

Today I tried to put together a list of the best IPTV apps for Android, so feel free to read the article in full and choose the right one.

IPTV is an advanced technology for watching TV on any device without having to pay for satellite TV services.

Hundreds of IPTV viewers are available today, but many of them are dangerous to install.

Unverified applications are the main source for injecting malware into a device.

Let's not delay with the introduction - let's go straight to the list.

5 - Lazy IPTV

There are two ways to add a playlist to the player: by uploading a file from your own device or by pasting the URL of the site where the file is located.

All subsequent applications also include the ability to download playlists in two ways, so I will not repeat myself anymore.

  • The application can play videos directly from YouTube and VKontakte.
  • There is a built-in audio player for radio stations.

Main screen

In terms of usability, Lazy IPTV allows you to add sources to favorites, supports folders, and allows you to create custom channel lists.

  • You can copy your playlists if you decide to switch to another app.
  • The home screen is fully customizable.

4 - Perfect Player IPTV

Perfect Player IPTV is another extremely popular app.

List of channels and program for the day

Among the unique features are the ability to view locally stored content and automatic synchronization with the desktop version of the application.

Perfect Player uses a minimalistic and eye-pleasing minimalist theme.

3 - IPTV

The application with the simplest name, but nevertheless, is the most popular IPTV player for Android, it has been installed by more than 10 million users.

The design is easily customizable, the channels are sorted into categories and displayed as a mosaic.

Favorite shows can be added to favorites and watched in recordings.

2 - OttPlayer

OttPlayer comes pre-installed on some smart TVs such as Sharp, Hisense and Sony.

The application was created by a Russian developer, so the Russian version is well-developed and convenient.

You can change channel icons and add your own playlists to the OttPlayer website. The site synchronizes it on all your devices on which the program is installed.

Note! Before using the application, you must create account on the official website - https://ottplayer.es.

Unlike other free Android IPTV players, OttPlayer has no ads.

This means you don't have to wait for a channel to load while you're watching an annoying "Your video will play in five seconds" ad.

1 - Kodi

A real "monster" among IPTV players. Kodi is mine favorite app to watch movies and TV channels.

I deliberately saved this for the last place, as additional plugins need to be installed for comfortable use.

An example of a TV channel in Kodi

If you only need IPTV and nothing else, then you can set up the player in 2-3 minutes:

  • Go to Addons > My Addons > PVR > Simple PVR IPTV Client > Setup. Add a pre-downloaded playlist in .m3u format.

Working playlists for every taste can be found on our website -

I have listed the most popular add-ons for IPTV. In addition to the players described above, you can try Vintera TV and Peers.TV, they are not inferior in functionality and convenience to the rest.

For residents of Ukraine, I advise an excellent player with Ukrainian national and regional channels - Lanet TV.

IPTV is already quite a popular service and many people use it on a computer, TV, media player, etc. I want to tell you how to run this service on your smartphone or tablet running Android OS.

Applications for watching IPTV on Android

At the moment, I know of 2 such applications:
  • IP-TV from QSmart play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ua.com.apec.qsmart.iptv
  • IPTV from Safronov play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.iptvremote.android.iptv
Both applications are similar and have similar functionality, everyone will choose what they like. Personally, I immediately used the application from Safronov, but after it temporarily disappeared from the market, I switched to QSmart and already stayed on it.

IPTV playlists

One of the most FAQ, this is where to get playlists.
  1. by the most the right options is your provider's playlist. But, firstly, not all providers provide IPTV service. And secondly, such a playlist will only work in local network provider.
  2. The second option is paid services of third-party providers. But since I have never tried it, I can’t say anything and give links.
  3. Free public playlists. As a rule, they do not live long and the quality leaves much to be desired. There are related topics on the dedicated forum:

    w3bsit3-dns.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=394145

Multicast and Unicast

Links in playlists can be unicast and multicast. Unicasts start with http:// and generally work on all devices. Multicast links start with udp://@ and are often problematic.
Reasons why Multicast does not work:
  1. Android device does not support Multicast
  2. The player does not support udp streams
  3. The router by passes multicast packets
The best solution to these problems is UDP Proxy. This is a small program that converts UPD streams to Http. UDP proxies are available for both Windows and Linux. But it is best if your router has such a function. Firmware DD-WRT and Open-WRT definitely have this functionality.

Which player to choose

The application for android is only a "viewer" of the playlist. Responsible for video playback external video player. Which player is best for your playlist, you have to try. On one player, the picture can slow down and crumble, on the other it can play perfectly. I personally chose MX player play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad

Conclusion

The TV in the phone often helps out when you are doing something in the kitchen and you want to watch a program or a movie on TV. But its use is not particularly comfortable for the following reasons:
  • Channel launches for a long time
  • It is impossible when watching a channel, switch to the next channel. It is necessary to return to the channel list and restart a new one. I hope that IP-TV developers will solve this issue in the near future.

Most ISPs include streaming television or, as it is more commonly known, IPTV in their tariff plans or offer for a fee. Usually the setup instructions software for Windows is available on the provider's website or in the documents supplied with the service agreement. But how to set up IPTV on Android is usually not mentioned anywhere.

Currently, there are many applications for watching IPTV on Android:

  • IPTV (Alexander Sofronov);
  • IPTV Qsmart;
  • LAZY IPTV;
  • Simple IPTV;
  • IP-TV;
  • IPTV EMAG.

All of these programs are designed specifically for watching streaming TV. It should be noted that viewing IPTV is also possible on universal players for Android (VLC, MX Player, etc.), but the convenience of using them for IPTV is inferior to the above programs.

Setting up IPTV + VLC

All the setup steps described below are demonstrated using the IPTV application from the developer Alexander Sofronov and the VLC player for Android as an example, but the above applications have similar functionality, and if you want to use another client to watch streaming TV, it will not be difficult to figure it out by analogy. Also, if there are problems with video playback, it is useful to read the instructions.

Install the IPTV application:

Install VLC player:

Launch the IPTV application. The program will offer to add a playlist with channels. A playlist is a text file with the extension ".m3u" or ".xspf" containing a list of stream addresses for TV channels. Usually the ISP provides a link to it. Playlists can be easily found on the Internet and downloaded. After adding a playlist, the program will display all the channels contained in it.

Click on the desired channel and the IPTV application will launch the VLC player with the selected channel.

This could have ended, if not for one "but"!

Many providers prefer to broadcast a stream over a multicast protocol (links like udp://), since it, compared to unicast (usually http:// protocol), allows you to significantly optimize the occupied bandwidth of the channel, broadcasting the stream to everyone, rather than creating separate sessions for every viewer.

Unfortunately, many Android devices do not support UDP-multicast streams, except for a few models that have udpxy built into the firmware.

To transfer IPTV to an Android device, you need a transcoding system that will transfer IPTV not by multicast, but by a stream over HTTP.

Modern routers with Linux-based firmware like DD-WRT and Open-WRT already have a similar system, but if you have a budget router without transcoding support, you can organize your own proxy using a computer connected to a common network with an Android device.

For operating rooms Windows systems you need to download the UDP-to-HTTP Proxy program.

For operating systems Linux family UDP-to-HTTP Proxy server is located .

Configuring UDP-to-HTTP Proxy (Windows)

The program configuration consists in specifying the IP addresses of the UDP multicast interface and the HTTP server interface. For the case if your computer and Android device are on the same network, this is the same address and it is equal to the IP address of your PC. Expand the "Multicast interface" list, it should already contain the IP address of the computer (the last one in the list).

Click on the "Start" button.

The server is running, now let's go to the settings on the Android device.

Setting up a UDP proxy on Android

Open the IPTV application, click on the system menu button of the device and select the "Settings" option from the list.

Click on the "UDP Proxy Settings" option.

Enter the IP address of the computer running the "UDP-to-HTTP Proxy" server, enter the port number, the default is 7781. Select the type of proxy server "UDP-to-HTTP Proxy (Windows)" and click OK to save the settings.

All! You can test TV playback online on Android.
