Do-it-yourself door cassette. Catalog of sliding interior doors. Cassette options

The door cassette is a hollow box installed in a wall or partition, in which the canvases are hidden, opening the opening. Such a design of sliding doors saves space as much as possible, does not take up space along the walls and does not block the passage to adjacent rooms.

Cassette options

Traditional sliding door systems do not require additional space, like swing doors, but they do not allow furniture to be placed close to the walls in the movement area of the canvases. Cassette structures are part of a wall or partition, and the door leaves moving along the guides simply hide in their body.

Depending on the width of the opening and the layout of the apartment, one or another option for installing the cassette relative to the door is chosen:

  • one side;
  • at both sides;
  • inside or outside the opening.

One leaf requires the sliding door cassette to be positioned on the left or right side opening. For double-leaf structures, it is provided for the “entry” of the canvases into opposite boxes, and if the thickness of the wall allows, then into one. The cassette can be installed between the leaves moving along the guide rails. In this case, their movement when opening will be oncoming. Three- and four-field designs have different movement options.

Door cassettes are mounted either in an existing wall with its preliminary disassembly, or in a wide opening. In any case, further sheathing of the installed structure is carried out. drywall sheets or decorative panels, or plastering the surface on metal mesh. The finishing method depends on the model of the cassette and the material of the door slopes.

The option of mounting the cassette on the outside of the wall does not require its destruction, but reduces, albeit slightly, the usable area of the room.

Design features

Sliding doors with a cassette are considered the ideal solution for small-sized apartments and adjacent premises that require consolidation or isolation at some point. They allow you to distribute space in a new way and arrange furniture, open access to the next room, without taking up space under the extended sash.

Cassette construction for sliding doors consists of several components:

  • metal frame;
  • guides;
  • roller mechanisms;
  • synchronizing devices (for multi-leaf doors);
  • limiters of various kinds and clamps.

The cassette is quite easy to assemble. The finished elements are fixed and adjusted like a construction set according to the instructions and diagrams provided in the instructions supplied by the manufacturers. As a rule, guide rails are not installed in the aisle, therefore flooring remains intact, and the sills are absent. Synchronizers ensure the simultaneous movement of the leaves when opening or closing a multi-leaf sliding door. Moreover, the effort here will need to be applied only to one sash.

A correctly installed cassette will form a single unit with interior partition or a wall, providing it with the required rigidity, and the same finish of the entire surface will visually emphasize the solidity of the structure.

The convenience of cassette doors

Unlike traditional sliding structures, cassettes allow:

  • completely expand the opening or buy smaller canvases;
  • provide a better seal that prevents the penetration of odors or noise;
  • arrange furniture in the immediate vicinity of the door slopes.

Comparing cassette doors with swing doors, it can be noted that sliding doors:

  • comfortable opening on both sides;
  • block openings of considerable size (up to five meters);
  • open only that part of the passage that is currently needed;
  • do not take up extra space;
  • do not allow injuries during a sharp opening;
  • not afraid of drafts.

The design of the cassettes allows you to adjust the door leaf in three directions - according to the rollback, the height of the doorway and its depth. The location of the fasteners and guides allows you to distribute the load on the metal frame as evenly as possible.

A new word in the arrangement and design of premises - CASSETON door cassettes. Thanks to them, your home will become even more comfortable, even more beautiful, even more comfortable. They are one of the varieties of sliding doors and have a number of features and benefits that make them especially in demand.

Thanks to them, you can visually adjust the room, save free space and free up space near the wall at doorway. Our catalog contains five designs of cassette doors, each of which is available in different versions.

Cassette doors: advantages

Having decided to resort to such an unusual solution as a pencil case door, you will not lose! Her design features and a variety of design options allow you to achieve your goals in terms of functionality, usability and interior design. Here are just some of the advantages that make sliding structures indispensable in any interior:

  • Saving free space. When opening the cassette doors, they move into the wall, so the space in front of and on the sides of the doorway remains free;
  • Wide opportunities for zoning. Pencil doors installed in a wide doorway allow you to divide the space into functional areas by opening or closing their doors;
  • Convenience and safety of operation. Unlike hinged counterparts, cassette sliding doors will not pinch fingers, will not slam shut sharply from a draft and will not cause injuries;
  • Versatility. Our catalog contains structures of different heights and widths that can be installed in doorways of different sizes;
  • High level of sound insulation. The tight fit of the doors allows for a high level of sound insulation, which is especially important for areas such as kitchens and bedrooms.

Door cassettes: design features

The main difference between cassette doors is the presence of a cassette (or, as it is also called, a case). The sliding door frame is a galvanized steel grid that is integrated into the wall during the construction phase. In this case, the wall can be built of brick, drywall and other materials. In order to make the cassette more durable, it is equipped with spars located at the same distance from each other along the entire length of the structure.

An integral element of cassette doors is a removable rail, which is installed at the top of the doorway. For its manufacture, a high-strength aluminum alloy is used, which eliminates corrosion processes. Door leafs are moved along the rail on rollers equipped with needle bearings. Their use allows you to open doors smoothly and almost silently.

The design has such elements as mortgages, which provide reliable fixation of the door in the opening. The kit also includes an adaptive socket in which you can install a socket or switch. As an additional option, cassette doors can have a synchronizer that allows you to open two leaves at the same time.

As for the door panels, depending on the width of the opening, they can be presented in quantities from one to four. Cassette opening systems can be combined with leafs made of different materials, with different options finishes.

Pencil door: opening principle

Having decided to buy a case-door, you get an easy-to-use, reliable design. When opened, the canvas smoothly shifts to the side - into a cassette located in the wall - and does not take up any space at all. If we are talking about two canvases, then when they are opened, they move in different directions of the doorway, hiding in the wall.

We bring to your attention five designs of cassette doors designed to solve certain problems.

Standard

Designs that can be seen most often. They have one canvas, which is shifted into a pencil case located on the left or right side of the doorway. The dimensions of the door leaf can be standard and non-standard.

"Comfort"

Double-leaf cassette doors for wide doorways, the leafs of which move in different directions, opening the passage. The cassettes in which the canvases are hidden are located on opposite sides of the doorway.

Unibox

A design designed for doors to adjacent rooms, having one cassette, which is built into the wall between the doorways. The canvases move independently of each other and hide in the wall.

Parallels

The design provides for the presence of one cassette located to the left or right of the doorway, and two canvases that move parallel to it. The synchronizer allows you to move the leaves synchronously.

"Double Parallels"

Two cassettes located on either side of the doorway and four door leaves - this design is designed for very wide doorways. The pairwise arrangement of the canvases provides for their displacement two by two parallel to each other in opposite directions of the opening.

Versions

Designs "Standart" and "Comfort" are presented in five versions, each of which has its own characteristics:

  • "Norma" - platbands for a doorway are included in the package;
  • "Proikit" - presented only with standard door leaves;
  • "Active" - do not have platbands, provide for the effect of "hidden" doors;
  • "Emotive" - have platbands made of anodized aluminum;
  • "Automatic" - open and close automatically, as they are equipped with an electric motor and a door closer.

Why CASSETON?

  • Always profitable cooperation: doors from the manufacturer, affordable prices, wide range of;
  • Turnkey services: we take care of organizing the delivery and installation of doors;
  • Individual approach: assistance in choosing a door based on the characteristics of the room and its interior design.

Currently, sliding door designs are very popular. One of their varieties is the pencil case door. Essentially, this original solution, allowing you to give the interior a touch of elegance and sophistication.

It is worth noting that the pencil case door can come with a finished cassette or be without it. In the second case, you will have to make a cassette with your own hands. Regardless of whether the pencil case is made independently or by the hands of master professionals, the installation of such a door system is not an easy task: a novice home craftsman will not be able to perform it properly.

A distinctive feature of such a door system is that the door slides into the wall, or to be more precise, into the built-in pencil case. Such a sash does not occupy a usable area, since when open it hides in a special niche. And in closed canvas blocks doorway, protecting the room from unwanted sounds, all kinds of smells, and also provides adequate protection from prying eyes.

The door of the pencil case has a huge number of advantages, here are some of them:

  • There is no need to install a door sill.
  • Saving usable space of the room (the structure slides into the cassette).
  • The door does not close from a sudden draft, and besides, it can be left ajar.
  • Thanks to the presence of a floor controller, the canvas glides smoothly and silently.

Unfortunately, such a door system has its drawbacks. The most significant drawback is the low sound and heat insulation performance of this design. And besides, without having the appropriate knowledge and experience in performing such work, it is quite difficult to cope with the installation of this design.

Types of cabinet doors

Sliding doors of this type consist, as a rule, of a frame, a leaf, guide mechanisms, handles, and also a case. Among themselves, such designs can differ in the number of canvases and the device of the cassette.

There are the following types of sliding structures:

  1. Single block blocks.
    Such a door system is used when the doorway is small (the width of such an opening is usually less than a meter). A single-leaf door case is attached to the ceiling or wall, in which case the installation of the box is not required.
  2. Bifold structures.
    The installation of such doors is recommended in wide doorways. In this case, two cassettes are installed (one case for each door), and they are connected to each other by a guide.

As for the niche device, its design features depend on the wall to which the cassette will be attached. So, for example, if the wall is not a carrier, it can be dismantled and a partition with a niche can be erected in place of the old one, the dimensions of which will correspond to the dimensions of the canvas. Such a partition is called a false wall, and it will be a case for a sliding door. In this case, it is possible to save the usable area of the room, and the thickness of the wall remains unchanged.

If the wall is load-bearing, a frame is attached to it, which is sheathed with drywall. And from above, the structure is puttied and glued with wallpaper or painted.

Self-made or ready-to-install canisters of sliding systems are mounted only after the final leveling of the floor, that is, when the level of the finished floor is set (including the thickness of the substrate, as well as the floor covering).

The installation of the door system is carried out as follows:

  1. They make measurements.
    For these purposes, the parameters of the door leaf are measured and these dimensions are transferred to the guides. The length of the guide should be equal to twice the width of the sash.
  2. The profile is marked and these structural elements are cut out.
    When erecting a false wall, two rows of metal profiles will be required. If an overlay is made on an existing wall, it is quite enough to assemble one row of metal profiles. In this case, both in the first and in the second case, the profiles are fastened to the floor, ceiling and wall.
  3. In order for the canvas to slide smoothly and silently, when fixing the frame to the floor and ceiling, a technical cork or a rubber layer should be placed between these elements.
  4. Install sliding mechanism and hang door leaf.
    The sash must be installed in such a way that the gap between the floor and the door is no more than 5 mm (in this case, the soundproofing properties of the door block will increase). At the same stage, the door stroke is adjusted: it will not be possible to perform this operation after the installation work is completed (unless you have to disassemble the “wall”).
  5. Sheathe the frame with drywall.
    They plaster and finish it (the decor must be made under the wall framing the doorway).

It should be noted that the niche should be 2 cm wider than the door leaf. The width of the niche is calculated taking into account the width of the sash: in practice, the depth of the niche is 4-8 cm.

The pencil case door (provided that its installation is done correctly) will last a long time. Smoothness of a door course is provided with the roller mechanism. It should be noted that various models mechanisms differ in load capacity u, therefore, before choosing one or another mechanism, you need to find out what is the mass of the sash (this will ensure long-term operation of the door structure).

In turn, the roller mechanism is equipped with several adjustment screws, with which you can adjust the vertical position of the web (up to 2 cm). So, for example, if the pencil case door was installed before finishing the floor, due to a decrease in the height of the doorway, the leaf will be located too low (in this case, the adjusting screws are loosened or tightened to adjust the position).

If, after such an adjustment, it is not possible to solve this problem, the sash will need to be filed from the top or bottom (but you need to file no more than 15 mm). If the gap is too large (if after adjustment it was not possible to correct the situation), a small bar must be fixed from below or above the canvas and this part of the sash should be tinted to match the door. The situation is much more complicated with glass door. If the dimensions of the canvas do not correspond to the doorway, the niche will have to be redone to fit the dimensions of the sash.

When a too thin metal profile (up to 0.5 mm thick) is used to create the frame, bars will be needed to strengthen it. If such a structure is not strengthened, the partition will vibrate during the movement of the web, and besides, the guide will sag over time.

In order to avoid distortions, during the installation of the door structure, it is recommended to temporarily fix the opening with a screed-strut. If desired, such a spacer can be made independently: for this you need a metal profile or a wooden block.

In addition, it is extremely important to correctly calculate the width of the pencil case. If the cassette is too narrow, the canvas will constantly cling to the door frame. And if the pencil case is too wide, the soundproofing properties of the door block are significantly worsened, and the appearance of such a design leaves much to be desired.

Moreover, when installing a sliding door that goes into the wall, you should take care in advance about fixing special fittings on the canvas, which would prevent the sash from completely entering the niche. In fact, such fittings (usually a special door handle) are a kind of door stop.

The sliding type design is an excellent solution for a small room. It looks stylish: such a door system will easily fit into any interior. The main thing is to correctly install it and carefully operate the door, only if these conditions are met, the door block will last for many years.

Even such traditional interior elements as interior doors are sometimes modified. And the trend recent years on this path is the spread of hidden interior doors called pencil cases. This option when arranging a doorway is chosen not only for its aesthetics, but also for its compactness. Indeed, when open, cassette doors do not interfere with the passage and do not touch any pieces of furniture - this is precisely the main problem of conventional swing models, especially in small apartments. However, it is still possible to use a wide range canvases to ensure harmony with the interior.

Interior doors pencil case: how to make hidden sliding doors that slide into the wall?

Before thinking about installing this type of product, you need to understand how hidden doors are arranged. Such systems are supplied in a special kit consisting of the necessary fittings, accessories and parts. The pencil case itself is, in fact, a continuation of the wall, and when opened, it completely absorbs the canvas, hiding it.

The design features of the system are: a set of guides, a cassette and special fittings that differ from the traditional design. Guides include rollers, rails, a stopper and a limiter. It is clear that without them the canvas simply will not move, so they are no less important than the hinges for traditional options. Sliding door frames are inserted directly into the wall. It is initially destroyed, and after the installation of the cassette, it is restored, but already from drywall. The installation of guides and a pencil case is one of the most important stages of work, since the ease of movement of the web will depend on the correct execution of these tasks. It is worth noting that different cases are produced for brick and plasterboard partitions. As for the fittings, it must be special because only in this case the handles and locks will not interfere when opening.

How to install a door in a wall: installing an interior sliding cabinet door

Before installing cassette interior doors, you need to check the verticality of the wall surface, as well as calculate the dimensions of the opening that will be sewn up after installation. The installation of the door leaf is carried out before the procedure for sewing the cassette. The pencil case is installed on the finished floor and fixed with the help of pre-prepared mortgages. The upper mortgages, when properly fastened, will securely hold the canvas and exclude any bends and displacements. The walls of the cassette are sewn up with drywall. In this case, the upper edge is located along the metal brand and the enclosing box.

In order for the sliding hidden doors of the pencil case to work normally, before sewing up the cassette, you need to determine in what position the canvas will be, that is, with or without access to the handle. In the latter case, the door will be completely hidden in the wall, and a special lock with a button must be provided to extract it. It must be understood that changing the configuration after the installation is completed is possible only when one of the sides of the cassette is unstitched. Another important point, which must be taken into account: the dimensions of the framing block of canister doors differ significantly from those for swing models. Having sewn up the cassette, you can finish the walls and install platbands.

Advantages and design of the canister door

What are the benefits of sliding doors?

Sliding doors to the wall are modern products that harmoniously fit into any interior. They have a number of advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of products of this type include:

  • The ability to save space in the room, which allows you to place more pieces of furniture in the room.
  • Low injury risk. Even with all your desire, you will not be able to stumble upon an open door in the dark, since its main parts are securely disguised as a wall.
  • Long service life. Sliding structures are equipped with a set of high-quality fittings, which is designed for a large number of manipulations.

Hidden door in the wall has some disadvantages. The first of these is the price. Such a device is more expensive than standard hinged doors. Among the shortcomings, one can also single out the complexity of the installation, which is quite difficult to perform independently according to the scheme included with each product.

How are the interior doors of the pencil case arranged?

Pencil interior doors are built-in systems that consist of one or more canvases. Two roller cassettes are attached to them. These details are necessary so that the canvases can move along the track (guide). They are made from aluminum or steel.

Hidden interior doors have two generally accepted ways to attach the guide. The first involves mounting it in a groove cut in the floor. This method is less effective, since the rollers of the cassettes located on the floor can quickly become clogged with dust and fail.

In the second method, the guide is installed at the level of the doorway, due to which the door leafs also easily slide behind the partition specially organized for them.

How to choose a hidden interior door?

Many owners of houses and apartments, when planning to purchase such a decorative element as concealed doors, pay attention only to the material from which they are made. But there are other nuances of choice that cannot be ignored.

It's about about the quality of the accessories that come with such products. Guides and cassettes must be made of aluminium. This soft metal allows you to open and close hidden doors almost silently, which is very important for all family members. Stainless steel analogs are of lower quality and create much more noise during operation.

Product design should also be given due attention. Indeed, the overall picture of the interior depends on how appropriate the door in the apartment will look.

What are the distinguishing features of cassette doors?

These devices have a more complex mechanism, unlike sliding doors or canisters. Cassette interior doors are a single block in which roller mechanisms and the leaf itself are located. The block is called a cassette. When closing, the door goes completely into it.

Cassette doors are designed in such a way that all fittings and mechanisms are reliably protected from dirt and dust, which means they will last longer.

Another one distinguishing feature cassette door is that you can make it yourself. To do this, you need to buy a canvas separately and choose a cassette for its dimensions. Such fittings are sold separately in specialized stores.

What material is better to buy sliding doors?

Interior sliding doors are made of various materials. When choosing these products, one should take into account in what temperature range and at what humidity they will be operated.

As standard interior doors, you can use solid wood, PVC, veneer and MDF doors. Plastic products are universal. They can be successfully operated not only in ordinary rooms, but also where the humidity threshold is extremely high. We are talking about the kitchen, bathroom, toilet and even sauna. Plastic sliding doors can be used even in storage rooms and utility basements, where the temperature is much lower than in the rest of the apartment.

There are also sliding doors made of aluminum, but this option is recommended for use in office and industrial premises.

What are sliding sliding doors? Cassette doors have a leaf that can move and hide in the wall. These doors do not have classic door hinges. But sliding hidden doors are equipped with a special sliding mechanism with rollers. It is with the help of rollers that the doors move silently when opening and closing.

The main element of interior hidden doors is a pencil case or cassette (hence the name of these models). It is installed in the doorway. The case is completed with a guide, as well as carriages with rollers. The door leaf is hung in the opening, and the pencil case itself, as a rule, is sheathed with drywall or plastered. Of course, the dimensions of the pencil case must be such that the door leaf can hide in it.

Depending on the number of leaves, there are two types of sliding hidden doors.

  • Single-floor (only one canvas is hidden in the pencil case).
  • Double-sided (two pencil cases in the design). The canisters are connected with a guide. Each pencil case in width must match the door leaf.
