The legendary Zvezdochka ointment appeared in the pharmacies of the Soviet Union around the 70s. Literally everyone remembers it, because it was a truly effective (sometimes even irreplaceable) and inexpensive drug.
They tried to treat everything in the world with a balm - from acute respiratory infections to chronic rheumatism. The most amazing thing was that the medicine actually helped in many cases.
At some point, the ointment disappeared from the shelves. However, its healing properties were so high that Russian pharmacists have already contributed to the return of the medicinal balm to the market. Today we will tell you what this legendary substance actually is, what it consists of and how it can be used at the present time.
Story
In the original, the ointment was called "Vietnamese Star", and it was produced, respectively, in Vietnamese factories. The specific author of the original composition was the scientists of the Vietnamese pharmaceutical company Danapha, Danapha Pharmaceutical JSC. American pharmacists translated the name Cao Sao vàng as “Golden Star Balm”, with this marking it also appeared on our market. The Soviet people did not immediately “taste” the ointment: for some reason it was supplied with instructions in their native language. Even in the first version, the ointment did not contain healing eucalyptus oil - its addition turned the drug into a real miracle.
Compound
The composition of the original ointment includes only those substances that have been used in folk medicine by the Vietnamese themselves for several hundred years. This, in fact, is one of the very few folk remedies that is recognized as useful by pharmacologists around the world. The composition includes exclusively essential oils of medicinal plants - there was and is no chemistry here. The manufacturer lists the ingredients included here in the attached instructions: there is clove, eucalyptus and mint oils, flavored with excipients from various herbs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION OF THE STAR BALM
From the listed spectrum of use of the drug, it can be seen that the balm can be safely called a universal remedy. But the Zvezdochka ointment shows all its effectiveness only when it is used correctly, namely through acupuncture points. In other words, you need to apply a small amount of the drug to the desired point and massage it clockwise until the skin turns red. During the day, "Asterisk" can be used 2-3 times.
Do not apply a large amount of balm to the skin and affected areas, as this can cause a burn. If you feel a strong heat and burning sensation in the area of application, then rinse off the remaining substance with water.

Crystalline menthol has the largest share in the star balm (for example, in the Golden Star pencil - up to 50 percent), camphor, petroleum jelly and mint oil. Quite noticeable and share of eucalyptus oil. But the share of clove and cinnamon oil is very small (just a couple of percent).

However, these inhalations can only be used for rhinitis of a catarrhal nature. For allergic seasonal rhinitis, the use of star balm stick undesirable. Method of application and dosage

In 1 liter of boiling water, a tablespoon of sea salt and a couple of drops of Asterisk liquid balm are added. The procedure is performed at night. Covering your head with a towel, inhale the vapors for 10 minutes (it is recommended to close your eyes).
The medicine is applied systematically in order to stop the pain. The course of treatment depends on the nature of the disease, age and symptoms.

In childhood, during pregnancy and breastfeeding
