When finishing the door surface, it is best to use water-based varnishes. Compared to similar solvent-based varnishes, they are more environmentally friendly and, in addition, have a slightly less effect on the shade of wood fibers. When choosing a finish, you should remember that on shiny canvases, traces of dirt and scuffs are more visible. Glossy varnishes tend to hide the wood texture, but at the same time add richness to the color of the finish. In any case, most customers of panel doors prefer a semi-gloss type coating.
