Determining the location of the gate

Measurements and sketching

All work with the material will be carried out separately from the already finished opening, so it is important to pre-calculate everything, make sketches of the future design. This will save a lot of time and consumables.

The standard width of the gate is 1 meter, and the height is up to two meters. If you want to create a structure above two meters, it is important to remember that the large weight of the structure will adversely affect the lock and hinges of the canvas. Therefore, it is better to supplement such a gate with an upper insert with a crossbar - this way the load on the support post can be reduced, and the fence will last longer.

Construction of support posts

The strength and stability of the gate depends on the correct arrangement of the racks. Ordinary metal pipes, or pillars made of stone and brick can be used as them. Each of these options will look attractive, but, nevertheless, if you make a gate with your own hands, then it is better to use pipes, because then they will definitely be mounted evenly and there will be no distortions.

At this stage, it is also important to pay attention to the foundation of the structure. In order for the pipes not to sag, the laying depth should be at least 1 meter, and preferably 1.5 meters. The installed racks must be filled with a solution, and then left for 10 days until completely solidified.

Frame manufacturing

The frame is the most important part of the process of building a gate from a profile. You should pay attention to the fact that the frame is easiest to make with your own hands from a profiled metal pipe, which has a section of 60x30. At this stage, you will also need a grinder and a welding machine. Before direct cutting of the pipe, it is necessary to clean and degrease with a special agent. You can also apply a layer of anti-corrosion agent.

The pipes are cut at an angle of 45 degrees according to the marks that were calculated in advance and entered in the design drawing. You also need to have two longitudinal parts of 1.75-1.9 m and 2-3 m, and transverse parts of 0.9-1 m. They must be welded into several tacks every 30 cm. These elements will make a strong frame, which will be reliable and very original in appearance.

If you want to increase the strength of the structure, you can place the same frame inside the finished frame, only smaller.

When the barrier frame is ready, you can install additional elements on it, namely, awnings, an external handle and a plate for attaching the future lock. The finished frame must be cleaned in places of all welds and painted. This is the final stage in the construction of a fence from a profile pipe, after which you can proceed to install the gate with your own hands.

Gate installation

For this process, it is enough to have ordinary self-tapping screws or rivets on hand. You can fasten the sheets at your own request - either every wave, or through one. The main thing is not to forget to nail the profile sheet to the middle of the frame, where the metal jumper is located.

A sheathed gate is installed in the opening with the help of special hinges. You can also use modern polymer curtains. In order for the gate to open only in one direction, a small limiter in the form of a corner can be installed on the opposite side. It is enough to sheathe all possible gaps and slats with a cloth, and the gate is ready.
