How to wipe mounting foam from hands?

Polyurethane foam is widely used in the installation of windows and doors; today, not a single overhaul can do without it. So we used foam in our endless (already seems) repair - we repaired the door frame. Naturally, the hands got dirty and linoleum (slightly). The question arose: How can you wipe the mounting foam. The answer was prompted by ingenuity and the Internet. We share with you the results of our experiment.

We wipe the linoleum and the door

The husband first of all grabbed the kerosene. I soaked a rag in it and walked over the stains left by the foam on the linoleum and doors. The foam was wiped off, but the smell was terrible. He could not weather the whole day! I don’t know for what reason, but for some reason my husband didn’t treat his hands with kerosene. For two days he tore off dried lumps of foam from his skin.

We wipe our hands

I went the other way. Subtracted on the Internet simple and affordable how to remove mounting foam- sunflower oil. They need to wet their hands and wait a couple of minutes. The oil will soften the dried foam, turn it into a soft mass, which can be simply scraped off the skin of the hands with nails or pumice. Washing the oil off your hands is no less difficult. I washed them three times. But an additional plus is also present - the oil softens and nourishes the skin of the hands ???? In the photo you can see the result: before and after.

Finally, we list the methods that we ourselves did not use, but they are called on the Internet:

  • Salt bath for hands. Prepare a solution in a free proportion. Pour into a bowl and immerse hands in it for 5 minutes. Then it remains to walk with a pumice stone, and the handles are clean!
  • Special cleaners for polyurethane foam. They say it's better to use "native", that is, the same company as the foam. Cleaners can be applied to fabric, leather, various hard surfaces. After treatment, the surface is wiped with soapy water.
  • By the way, a frozen piece of foam fell off the plastic bucket without difficulty. It can be concluded that it is easy to remove foam from plastic - just wait until it hardens. In general, it is advised to scrub the mounting foam while it is liquid.
  • Sunflower oil is also used to wipe mounting foam from plastic windows and doors. They act as in the method I described: oil is applied to the surface, wait 20 minutes, rub with a sponge, then wash off the oil with soapy water.
  • The pharmacy remedy "Dimexide" (they treat joints), oddly enough, is also used to dissolve dried mounting foam. The method is simple: apply, wait, rub, rinse.

Attention! If you are not sure that a particular product is suitable for the surface being cleaned, try it first on an inconspicuous area, wait 15-20 minutes. It's all right, so keep going.

Good luck in the fight against mounting foam! We hope our experience and advice was useful to you ???? Share your opinions in the comments! We will be happy????
