I offer an interesting idea to create a festive mood! Decorate your home with a beautiful Christmas wreath that you can create with your own hands together with your children or grandchildren! It’s especially interesting for those who didn’t do something similar for the New Year holidays. Interested? We tell you and show you how to make a Christmas wreath with your own hands.

Good afternoon to all readers and lovers of creative ideas and handicrafts!

Welcome to the blog again

I sincerely congratulate everyone on the upcoming New Year and the upcoming Christmas! I wish you and your families only the best - the fulfillment of your deepest desires.

It has already become a tradition to decorate a house, apartment, room or corner of a room for the holidays, and in particular Christmas. More and more often we arrange a festive composition at the entrance or on the chest of drawers.

And we hang a bright festive wreath on the door. In the Western tradition, it is customary to make wreaths and decorate the entrance with them not only for Christmas. There, a wreath arrangement can be seen simply at the change of season or before a family holiday.

Such wreaths can now be bought in almost every supermarket, but how can they create that atmosphere of enjoying their own masterpiece created with their own hands...

Imagine this dialogue:

- Where did you get such a beautiful wreath?
- We did this ourselves...
- What are you talking about? So great! It turned out beautifully, you can’t buy one like this.

It's really nice to hear such words. And even without such words, you simply feel pleasure in your work. And if you do it with your children... Can you imagine how much joy you can bring to yourself and your children?

For this we need

  1. Cardboard
  2. Fir branches, artificial ones (I used live ones)
  3. Glue gun
  4. Jewelry for decoration

Let's get started

  • Cut out a circle from cardboard
  • We make a hole in the circle.

  • We wrap the circle with threads. This makes it easier to attach our branches.

  • We begin to glue the twig one by one

Our circle is completely filled with twigs. We begin to decorate it and then we begin to fantasize! I decorated with balls, bows and beads. You can hang the toys that we learned to make earlier

It can also be attached to a wreath

Place it here too.

Our wonderful New Year's wreath is ready!

Also, for decorating the interior for the New Year and Christmas.

Another MK on how to make a Christmas wreath with your own hands

To do this job we will need

  1. Styrofoam (I took it from the laptop packaging)
  2. Large plate or compass and smaller plate
  3. Ribbon for wrapping a foam circle or fabric (I cut it from the remnants of the brocade from which Zhenya sewed the Snow Maiden costume)
  4. Plastic snowflakes or cut them yourself from paper
  5. Thermal glue gun (glue “Moment - crystal” and “Moment - gel” burns through the foam, so it is better not to use them
  6. Ribbon or cord for decorating a wreath
  7. You can take ready-made small balls or toys, also for decorating the wreath

Work order

  • Carefully and carefully trace the contours of a large plate with the sharp tip of a knife.

  • Carefully cut out a circle with a knife

  • Place a smaller plate in the center.
  • Let's circle it

  • Cut with a knife

Masking the foam

  • Wrap the finished foam hoop with tape.
  • I cut it in advance from leftover brocade

  • We begin to wrap the hoop.
  • Apply layers evenly, overlapping the previous one.
  • We drop a drop of glue onto the previous one, perhaps through a turn or two. This is necessary so that the tape does not move out, but is firmly secured. This will help you avoid accidentally ruining all your work.

  • The circle is complete.
  • The rest of the tape needs to be secured. To do this, drop a drop of “Moment - Gel” glue onto the edge where you started and onto the edge you finished with (First check on a piece of fabric or tape with which you wrap the hoop so that the glue does not burn through the fabric)

Where it dripped, I put pieces of plasticine. So that you can see.

  • We remove the plasticine.
  • Glue the remaining end of the tape.

Now our hoop is ready for sticking snowflakes

Decorate the hoop with snowflakes

My snowflakes turned out to be all different sizes. These are leftovers.

  • I distributed the largest ones evenly around the circle first. I had 4 of them

  • Then medium size
  • The last ones are the smallest...

This is how the finished wreath with snowflakes turned out.

By tying a bright ribbon on it, you can hang it in its designated place. But I want something brighter...

Digression about candlesticks

By the way, if there are no candlesticks, you can use wine glasses and stemmed glasses. A little imagination and you get wonderful candlesticks. Since I burned my fingers and fell behind schedule, I didn’t have time to do much of what I had planned. For example, I didn’t have time to write an article about candles and candlesticks. But I had to figure out how to make them (candlesticks) quickly. Enter the wine glasses...

You can put red, gold, silver or blue Christmas tree beads in a glass. It all depends on how you intend to set your table or what kind of Christmas composition you want to create...

You can put a tangerine or a Christmas tree toy inside. Small Christmas balls or tinsel. Or you can even have candies... Place the entire structure on a small dish, porcelain or metal. Now the candlesticks are ready for the festive table.

While I was photographing candlesticks made from wine glasses for you. I was making a selection and came up with an idea - how to decorate a Christmas wreath...

What you need for decoration

  1. Found a golden cord
  2. I took red beads from a glass candlestick
  3. New Year's skewers for canapés
  4. Hot glue gun
  • We wrap a golden cord around a wreath with snowflakes.
  • Maintain the same spacing and slope.
  • We glue the cord on the back side with hot glue from a hot glue gun. And in this form you can hang it in place...

Adding brightness to the wreath

  • I decided to take red Christmas tree beads out of the glass.
  • I laid red beads parallel to the golden cord. They added a pop of color to our wreath.

After setting the New Year's table, I still had skewers for canapés. From them we will choose red ones with snowflakes.

  • Break off the skewers to the very base

  • Glue them on top of the snowflakes using a glue gun.
  • Choose a ribbon for the bow. It's better to take it red. I take the red one with white polka dots. Peas resemble snow...

  • Tie a bow on the wreath
  • Fold the edges in half
  • Cutting at an angle
  • Burn with a lighter.

So we solved the problem - how to make a Christmas wreath with your own hands

I placed it above the chest of drawers. Here we have Christmas and New Year's crafts. Candlesticks and sculptures. Paintings that my children and students made at different times.

The pictures were drawn by the eldest daughter, Marina... I haven’t talked about her work yet.

Do you think that wreaths are hung on doors only on the eve of the New Year? Nothing like this. Craftswomen make jewelry for any occasion. They can serve as the onset of autumn, the birth of a child or the celebration of Easter. How to make a door wreath with your own hands, read below.

Stump decoration

How to make a wreath on the door with your own hands? Build it from stumps. Where can I find them? Go to the forest. A walk in the fresh air lifts your spirits, and if the journey has a purpose, then walking among the trees is doubly pleasant. A girl can take her friends into the forest, who will cut her hemp from a fallen tree. These blanks for the future wreath need to be dried well. But you shouldn't put wood on the radiator. The saw cuts should dry naturally. This may take a week or a month, depending on the thickness of the workpieces.

When the saw cuts are dry, you can make crafts from them. We fold the blanks into a circle and glue the parts together with a hot gun or superglue. When the first ring is ready, you can begin making the second layer. You need to create a circle that will be slightly smaller in diameter than the blank that is available. Dry twigs need to be glued to the lower right needle. We tie a bow from burlap and decorate it with pine cones. The composition can include fresh or dried flowers, physalis, pine or Christmas tree branches, as well as soft pom-poms.

Wreath of pine cones

Craftswomen sculpt this door decoration for the main winter holiday. Even a child can make a New Year's wreath for the door from pine cones with his own hands. There is no need for any special skill or talent here. Collecting pine cones together is very simple. But before you do this, you need to do some preparatory work. The cones should be painted white, silver or gold. While they are drying, you can make a stencil for the wreath. You should draw a circle on a piece of whatman paper. The easiest way to get an even geometric shape is to trace a plate. When the cones are dry, they can be glued together. This should be done using a glue gun. We lay out the cones in the drawn circle and fasten them together. There is no need to glue anything to the paper; the stencil was intended to ensure that the wreath had a round shape. When finished, you can add decorative details to the product. For example, glue rowan berries or red beads. You can buy plastic birds or make them from plasticine.

Autumn wreath

Such a decorative product can often be seen on the doors of shops and children's centers. In general, those establishments that spend a lot of time decorating the premises. How to make an autumn-themed wreath for your door with your own hands? To make it we will need: willow branches, small yellow leaves, cones, acorns and berries. First you need to make the base. It is made from willow branches. They twist together, and then a torus is rolled out of a thick braid. The ends of the branches should be secured with threads. Now you can decorate the form. We attach the cones to the wreath first. They are large and take up a lot of space. Next turn of leaves. They can be pre-ironed with an iron so that they are preserved for a long time and do not become deformed. Lastly, small decor should be glued. Acorns and berries take up little space and can fill the empty spaces between buds and leaves.

Wreath of branches

To make such a craft, you don’t have to go to the forest. You can go to the park. What is a wreath made of? From thick branches. There is no need to trim them from trees; you can pick up already broken ones. It is most convenient to cut branches with pruning shears, but you can do this with a knife or even scissors. How to assemble a wreath for the door with your own hands? Draw a circle shape on whatman paper. This will be a stencil with which the wreath will take on an even shape. We lay out the branches in a circle in a chaotic manner and fasten them with a hot gun. When the wreath is ready, it needs to be decorated. It is best to create such a product in the spring, when nature blooms. And accordingly, you can decorate the wreath with branches of a blooming apple tree, cherry tree or lilac. If desired, living branches can be replaced with artificial ones.

Balloon wreath

This cozy piece is reminiscent of winter. Making a door wreath with your own hands is very simple. To make it you will need balloons, thread and glue. We inflate the balls, but not too much, so that they just take on a round shape. We take a ball, thread its end into a needle and pierce the bottle of glue. We stretch the thread and wrap it around the ball. You need to wind it in different directions and in different directions. When this stage of work is completed, cut the thread and hang the ball to dry. Thus, from different yarns you need to make blanks of different colors and sizes. While the balls are drying, you should prepare the snowflakes. You can either buy them in a store, or make them yourself from liquid silicone. Making them is very simple: just warm up the gun and draw a snowflake on a piece of paper. While the silicone is still wet, you need to sprinkle it with white powder or glitter. Now we take the blanks, burst the balloons that are inside, and lay out a circle from the balls we made. Moreover, we form it not into an even geometric figure, but into an arbitrary, slightly asymmetrical one. Decorate the resulting wreath with snowflakes.

Original wreath

This decor looks very appropriate not only during the New Year holidays, but throughout the winter. How to create a wreath for a door with your own hands? A photo of such a product is shown above; to make it you will need willow branches, thick woolen threads and plastic. The first stage is making the mold. You need to twist a rope from the branches and give it the shape of a circle. In this position, you need to secure the workpiece with threads. We take the branches again, this time we wrap them around the form. To prevent the wreath from falling apart, its right half should be tied tightly with a thick white thread. The base is ready, you can move on to the decor. You need to cut stars out of white plastic. This can be done either with a stationery knife or with a fire starter. Glue the stars onto the wreath. You can place willow branches in the middle of the finished product, which should first be sprinkled with foam or artificial snow. You can also hang plastic balls filled with stars.

Christmas wreath

Making such a decorative element will be very simple. How to make a New Year's wreath on the door with your own hands using a similar technique? We take willow branches as a basis, which we twist into a ring. To keep it in place, we wrap it with several rods. The form is ready, all that remains is to tint it. To do this, dip a sponge in white paint and paint the top side of the wreath with it. Now you can glue snowflakes, beads and other small decor to the base. In the center of the wreath we place the silhouette of a Christmas tree cut out of plywood. This blank can be purchased at a craft store. Glue snowflakes and hearts onto the Christmas tree. We outline the workpiece with white paint. You can tie ribbons and threads to the leg of the tree that match the overall color scheme of the craft.

Universal wreath

This decoration will be relevant both in winter and summer. You can make this decorative element with your own hands. There will be a Christmas wreath on the door if you decorate it with spruce branches, and a summer wreath will be if you decorate it with moss. To create this design, you need to purchase a special sponge from a florist shop. This is what will allow living plants to stay fresh longer. The sponge must be covered on all sides with moss and pressed firmly into the wreath. The main thing is to strengthen the green flooring in shape. There is no need to worry about the moss; it will rise later. Spruce branches are easier to attach. Their sticks will cling well to the sponge. When the wreath is ready, you need to spray it with a spray bottle. The product can additionally be decorated with brown branches, which should be used to braid a torus of plants. White Christmas tree figures should be attached to the inside of the product. These can be either plastic decorative items or New Year's lanterns that run on batteries.

Wreath of spikelets

Such a product is created in an elementary way. A round shape is made from willow branches. And the spikelets are glued to it diagonally. You can use threads as fastening. But it’s still safer to attach it to a glue gun. When the wreath is ready, it can be decorated with natural materials. These can be cones, leaves or reeds. If you want to tie a bow, you should make it from burlap.

New Year's wreath

Since this decoration was first made during everyone’s favorite winter holidays, it is not surprising that today the creation of a torus from fir branches is considered a tradition in many countries. How to make a New Year's wreath for the door with your own hands? A photo of such a product is presented above. To create it you will need spruce or pine branches, and it does not matter whether they are artificial or real. If you don’t have such decor in your household, you can cover the base with tinsel.

A DIY Christmas tree wreath for the door is created as follows. The branches are attached to the foam base using a glue gun. They should not be placed in a chaotic order, but should be given a single direction. When the base is ready, we move on to the decor. We glue cones onto the wreath, which must first be dipped in white paint. You can add balls of thread, buboes of different sizes and a decorative bow made of burlap.

Wine cork wreath

What do people do on New Year's Eve? They drink, eat and visit. But not many people know that you can make a wreath for your door from wine corks. New Year is a holiday that requires careful decoration of the apartment.

How to create a wreath from wine corks? In order to fold an even circle, you will need a round pattern. It can be made from newspaper or paper. We outline a large dish and lay out the corks along the pencil outline. We attach them together with a glue gun. The right side of the wreath should be decorated with spruce or thuja branches. You can stick multi-colored balls on top. And we scatter the colored beads in clusters over the corks.

Spring wreath

We will create such a decoration from newspaper. We divide the printed publication into pages and twist them into bundles. We attach these tubes to each other using a stapler. Now you need to form a circle from the newspaper. When the base is ready, it should be filled with glue. This is done so that the wreath keeps its shape well. When the workpiece is dry, it needs to be wrapped with willow branches or vines. Bird figures and nests should be glued to the lower inner part of the wreath, and living branches will help complete the composition.

An Advent wreath is an obligatory attribute of the New Year holidays, and recently a ring of pine needles decorated with satin ribbons and candles was a rarity among us. Created in the mid-19th century in Hamburg, the calendar wheel helped illiterate children of the poor count the weeks and days remaining until December 25, the birthday of Jesus Christ.

This beautiful tradition quickly spread throughout the world and before each New Year, more and more doors and windows show off to each other variously executed Christmas symbols. You can buy a ready-made wreath for Christmas, but it’s more interesting to make it yourself, decorate it in your own way, adding your favorite colors and details.

What should you remember?

  1. A wreath is always a circle, a ring without end or edge.
  2. There are no strict rules in decoration - only imagination and good mood.
  3. The place for the Christmas wreath is on the front door, in the window, on the table.

Material

The key to success is a good base: a circle made of cardboard, plywood, wood, dense foam, even, preferably with a hole in the center.

Traditional filling materials are spruce paws, candles and satin ribbons, but any other material, familiar or simply nearby, can be used.

Sweet Christmas wreath

Confectionery is an excellent material for crafts! Anything is suitable: cookies, especially shaped cookies, colored caramels, marshmallows, marmalades, chocolates in shiny wrappers. The photo shows different types of sweets that make up a wonderful winter ensemble.

All this deliciousness is placed in a circle and secured with wooden toothpicks on a pre-baked large bagel made from sweet dough or on any other base. Unusual, bright, tasty.

Try making a New Year's symbol from other products - sausages, groceries. of different types and sizes, and even painted with bright colors, cause a smile, laughter and a completely New Year's mood. And the tinsel, burlap, newspapers!

Gifts of nature

Inspiration is drawn by painting and arranging pine cones, red rowan berries, and juniper branches in a circle. The composition can be connected with glue, pins, nails, multi-colored threads, twine and always red or white satin ribbons. The proposed photos are already realized ideas, choose or create. And at the link - as many as 7 master classes about.

Wreath of Christmas balls

The most affordable material for making a wreath is old Christmas tree balls. They are very easy to attach to the foam base using paper clips. If desired, you can add real or artificial fir branches.

Felt Christmas wreath

Skillful hands make a lot, and in the house there is always one or two soft toys of animals and snowmen. A little imagination - and funny figures will line up in anticipation of the solemn winter event.

Christmas wreath made of newspapers and paper

This simple and accessible material is always at hand, and unusual ideas are in the photo!

Ribbon decor

Even the smallest crafters can handle these wreaths. Take a large number of ribbons and arrange them artistically on the circle.

Variations with shape

Classic wreaths are round in shape, but modern wreaths have many variations and creative solutions: rectangular, square, heart-shaped and herringbone.

Simple master classes for everyone

From Christmas tree toys

And now a short instruction, a master class with step-by-step photos on how to make a beautiful Christmas wreath.

Wrap the base ring tightly with yarn or braid of any color. Attach multi-colored balls of all colors in random order to the base (with pins, brackets, paper clips).

Dried fruit wreath

A necklace made of rings of dried oranges and tangerines without a center, strung on thick wire, is well complemented with a real Christmas bow made of dyed burlap. How to do this can be clearly seen in the photographs.

Brushwood and balls

Weave the base from thin branches of willow and birch for strength, tying the project together with twine. On a dark background of tree bark there are touching snowflakes made of foam plastic, sparkling tinsel, a translucent nylon bow.

Symbol of the hearth - textiles

A needlewoman's wreath is balls of multi-colored yarn, knitted with fragments of knitted fabric. Furry pom-poms will also work.

How to make pompoms: cut out two identical rings from cardboard, wrap them loosely with multi-colored fluffy yarn, cut the layer along the outer edge and, threading the wire between the layers of cardboard, pull the middle of the pompom together (see photo). The long ends of the wire will serve as fastening between the pompoms. Their number depends on the possibility and desire of the author, as does the final decor.

If you don’t have the skills to work with threads, knitting needles, or a needle, just wrap the ring in a knitted sweater - the texture of the knitwear creates a wonderful image of soft home warmth. One or two bright bows, a cardboard figurine of an angel, a deer, will remind you of the New Year holiday, Christmas.

No matter what the Christmas wreath is made of, it always symbolizes joy, anticipation, and invites everyone to get together to celebrate the most solemn and significant day of the year, to wish each other peace and happiness.

Before guests arrive, everyone cleans up the house and hangs decorations. And among all the garlands, candles and gifts, of course, the Christmas wreath occupies a special place. It can be hung on a door or wall, or placed in the center of the dining table.

In stores on the eve of the holidays you can see a large selection of wreaths of various designs: with ribbons, balls, candles. But to make it truly special and unique, and also cost much less, make it yourself. How to make a Christmas wreath with your own hands? Very simple!

Here you will find 5 step-by-step master classes on making a Christmas wreath. Choose which one you like best: from balls, spruce, pine, pine cones or even mesh.

First, let's look at how to make a traditional Christmas wreath from spruce, which can then be mounted on the front or interior door.

Tools:

  • straw wreath mold (optional size),
  • balls (must match the size of the wreath: as the base of the wreath increases, the size of the toys also increases),
  • decorations in the form of branches with red and zloty beads, a red ribbon for a bow, pine cones (large and small),
  • spruce branches (thin so that they are easy to bend),
  • several other branches (for example, pine),
  • scissors, floral wire (preferably green),
  • red and gold decorative flowers (three pieces each).

Lay everything out on the table and get to work.

TIP: You can make this form yourself from dry grass and cling film. Additionally wrapped with tape.

Step-by-step production

STEP 1: Making a base from branches

  1. First, make a base of pine branches. Lay them out in the same direction, e.g. counterclock-wise, let the ends of the branches be on the right, and lay the soft tops of the branches to the left side. Attach them to a straw wreath, tie around with floral wire, tie down to the base.
  2. Continue adding more branches around the shape.
  3. Look, are there any empty seats left?, fill in all the gaps with smaller branches.
  4. So far he looks a little disheveled and sloppy. Wrap a little more wire around to tie down any large branches that are sticking out. The wire should be hidden behind the branches. Now you have a uniform, lush wreath - the foundation for further work.

Step 2: Decorate the wreath

  1. Now add a few other branches (in the same direction as the pine ones), distributing them evenly throughout the wreath.
  2. Attach a red bow. You can do without it, then the look will be more festive.
  3. You can add small pine cones if there were none on the branches themselves.
  4. The distribution of colors should be symmetrical(so that it doesn’t turn out that all the red decorations are in one place, otherwise it will look like a red spot). Divide the wreath into 4 parts, one of them has a bow, and the other three add a branch with red beads.

In principle, it already looks good and you can leave it like that, you can finish it.

IDEA: Or hang the wreath in this form first, and after a week add decorations, this way you definitely won’t get tired of the wreath during the holidays

Step 3: Add More Decorations

  1. For contrast, attach several branches with gold beads.
  2. Attach the pine cones: wrap the floral wire around the pine cone close to its base and attach it to the wreath, securing it well in place. Make sure the wire is visible, as less as possible. You can also stop at this point, or continue adding balls.
  3. Attach three balls, taking into account the same conventional division of the wreath into four parts
  4. Add three red and three gold decorative flowers.

You did it! The result is a wonderful Christmas wreath, all that remains is to attach it to the door to delight yourself and your neighbors!

How to make an Advent Wreath

Following the workflow just described, you can also create an Advent Wreath.

According to tradition, there are four candles on it: the first one was lit 4 weeks before Christmas, each subsequent Sunday one more was lit, so it was visible how the holiday was approaching.

Now a wreath of this type can be made with for traditional reasons and for decorative purposes. In any case, it will help create a festive atmosphere.

So, let's get to work:

  1. We create the base of the wreath from the branches, add small pine cones, as in the previous case.
  2. Fasten with hot glue gun candle holders(preferably with sharp pins at the bottom to insert into the wreath between the branches, but ordinary ones will do too), insert candles into them.
  3. We decorate the wreath with large cones and decorative flowers (two each in red and gold).

ATTENTION! Do not leave such a wreath unattended with lit candles!

Master class No. 2: Balloon wreath

To make such a wreath, you most likely won’t even have to go to the store for materials. After all iron clothes hanger and Christmas balls Almost everyone has it. So choose a time to work and get going!

You will need:

  • 1 wire hanger, red Christmas balls (the number depends on the size of the balls you have at home),
  • pliers, wire cutters (optional),
  • bow ribbon,
  • pine or Christmas tree branches (or garland),
  • wire or strong thread (preferably green).

Step by step execution:

Step 1:

  • Use pliers to give the hanger a round look. Don't worry if it's not perfectly level, the balls will cover all the unevenness.
  • Unscrew the hanger, that is, disconnect it at the attachment point under the hook.

Step 2:

  • Place the balls on the wire. If the end is too sharp or uneven, cut it with pliers. Once all the balls have been strung, bend the hook with pliers to secure the circle.
  • There is no need to hang the balls on top near the hook, since there will be ribbon and pine branches in this place.

Step 3:

  • Attach branches to the top of the wreath on both sides of the hook (tie them with wire or thread).
  • Make a ribbon bow and attach it under the hook.
  • All is ready! There’s even a hook right away, all you have to do is hang it!

Master class No. 3: Pine cone wreath

A Christmas wreath made of pine cones is very simple to make, but its main advantage is that it is stored for a long time and does not fall off, unlike a spruce wreath. It can be sent for storage until next New Year.

Materials:

  • Dry cones from 30 or more pieces, depending on the diameter of the wreath
  • The base for the wreath (if you don’t have one ready like the photo, cut out a torus from thick cardboard)
  • Glue gun.
  • Decor at your discretion.

Work order:

Stage 1: Laying the first circle

  1. Using a glue gun, we attach the cones to the inside of the Torus or circle.
  2. Inside is best attach smaller cones.
  3. The distance between the cones is 1-2 cm. They should not be attached closer. Maybe even 3-4 cm.

Stage 2:

We do the same thing, but on the outside of the circle with larger cones. Distances between them - 3-4 cm. They should lie freely - not overlap each other.

Stage 3:

  • And now fill the middle row- he seems to should be on top internal and external row. You can attach the cones not vertically upward, but slightly pointing them in different directions, filling the voids.
  • We decorate with sprigs of berries or live spruce.

TIP: If you add a garland on top, it will be even more spectacular!

Master class No. 4: From pine branches

“Simple and tasteful” is the most suitable phrase for this method of production. Christmas greenery and minimal decorations. but nevertheless, when you look at the door with such a wreath, it immediately becomes clear that there is a truly festive atmosphere here!

Materials:

  • wreath mold made of thick wire,
  • greenery (real or artificial pine branches, other conifers are also suitable),
  • cones, wire (for tying branches),
  • glue gun,
  • small bells,
  • ribbon for bow.

ATTENTION! When choosing the length of the wire form, keep in mind that after attaching the branches, the wreath will increase several times in size.

Manufacturing stages:

  1. Take a few pine branches and Attach them to the form using wire. First fix the ends of the branches, then wrap them around the wire several times, wrap them with wire. Wrap the entire base in this manner.
  2. Make another ball of twigs on top of the previous one, in the same way. You should get a uniform coniferous wreath.
  3. Attach some pine cones.
  4. Add 3-4 bells golden or silver to create a festive mood. Attach with a glue gun.
  5. Make a ribbon bow and attach it to the wreath.

Every time you open the door, you will hear the quiet ringing of bells and understand that the holiday is in the air around you!

Master class No. 5: Wreath made of decorative mesh

You will definitely surprise all your neighbors with this wreath! This colored hemisphere will not leave anyone indifferent; just looking at it will make you smile and have a sweet anticipation of the holiday!

Materials:

  • round wire wreath base,
  • decorative mesh in rolls about 50 cm wide (several colors, compatible with each other),
  • fluffy decorative wire.

TIP: If you don’t have such a base for a wreath, then you can cut it out of thick cardboard with a torus thickness of -10-15 cm. Then attaching the mesh can be done using a needle and thread or a glue gun.

Manufacturing stages:

Step 1:

  1. Cut off approximately 25-30 cm mesh and roll it into a roll. Squeeze in the center with your fingers. To make it more convenient, you can take someone as an assistant to hold the packages.
  2. You will need a lot of these rolls, they don't have to be exactly the same length.

Step 2:

  1. Group rolls together 4 each, connecting the centers and tying them in this place with fluffy wire. Leave the ends of the wire for attachment to the base.
  2. Tie each such part to the base of the wreath(the remaining ends of the wire). They should be close to each other, leaving no free space.
  3. Continue until the entire space is filled.

Ready! It turned out very colorful and festive! If desired, you can hang a toy on the wreath so that it is in the center. But be careful not to overdo it, so that it doesn’t turn out to be “too much”, because everywhere you need to know when to stop.

Wreath ideas

Finally, I would like to point out that here are some ideas for making wreaths. And, in fact, there are a lot of them! After all, it’s worth replacing a small part, making your own amendment, and you’ll get a new unique copy! Turn on your imagination and create! Involve the whole family in this process to make the process even more interesting and enjoyable!

Merry Christmas!!!

Designer wreaths 2019

In 2019, vertical wreaths are coming into fashion; they are mounted not on the wall, but on the ceiling, like a pendant. The principle of assembling the wreath is the same as described above. BUT

  • Before the holidays begin, everyone strives to decorate their home and create an atmosphere of fabulous beauty. Of course, the main character these days is the Christmas tree, but don’t forget about the decor of the walls, festive table, and doors. A DIY Christmas wreath is something that every home should definitely have.

Let's take a step-by-step look at several options for Christmas wreaths made by handmade masters to make it easier to come up with and create your own masterpiece.

Wreath in soft lilac and pink tones with silver

Let's consider the process of creating a very beautiful and stylish New Year's wreath, which can be attached to the door or placed in the center of the festive table.

This wreath is made using decorative elements of a special range. Primary colors: soft lilac, light pink and silver. You can choose the same shades for your wreath, or you can choose your own range.

The main thing to remember is a simple rule - there should be no more than three active colors in the composition.

So, let's try to make this incredibly beautiful DIY Christmas wreath. First, let's prepare everything that will be needed in the work:

    • Base for a wreath. You can make it yourself from paper and cardboard, or you can buy a foam base at a craft store.
    • Fir artificial branches.
    • Tinsel. The sample shows white and matte, but you can choose any other shade. It is better to take tinsel on a thin wire; it will hold its shape better and it is convenient to attach subsequent elements to it.
    • Two sets of balls and decorations in the specified colors. For work, you can purchase such sets, they are sorted by color and contain balls, stars, bells and mini gifts made of wrapping paper. Or choose small balls yourself and add a few more decorative elements to them.
    • Tape will come in handy. You can take it from the set, or you can choose any satin or nylon ribbon by color.
    • Decorative snowballs on a fishing line. You can take beads on a fishing line. Buy these things at a craft store or make them yourself. You can select the desired beads and string them onto a fishing line, securing them with glue.
    • Spray with glitter or fake snow.
    • Hot glue in a gun.

When everything is prepared, we begin to create a Christmas wreath with our own hands step by step:

    1. First you need to wrap the base in a spiral with tinsel. To do this, we attach the edge of the tinsel on the back side of the base with glue and begin to evenly wind it in a spiral over the entire base. We will also attach the tip to the glue on the back side where the first edge is.
    2. After this, you need to tediously attach a ribbon to the base, from which the wreath will be hung. To do this, we make a loop of tape around the base and glue the ends of the tape with glue for reliability.
    3. Now it’s the turn of the spruce branches. We push them under the tinsel and randomly distribute them throughout the wreath. Naturally we fix it with glue. Before this, some spruce branches can be sprinkled with glitter or artificial snow.
    4. Then we wrap the composition with fishing line with fluff or beads. We attach individual elements with glue in the spaces between the branches and tinsel. Important! All of the above elements need to be placed quite close to each other in order to completely cover the base.
    5. And now the main part of the process is completed, the most enjoyable part remains - the decoration. In order to decorate the wreath with decorative elements, it is better to remove the fastening parts from the balls and stars.
    6. We start attaching the balls with the largest ones. In the sample these are silver balls and there are only 3 of them. We place them on different sides of the wreath.
    7. Now we fill the space with balls, gifts and stars. We place them randomly and evenly. Afterwards, you can attach small nylon bows in some places.
    8. There are some bells left. They need to be glued in such a way that they are directed downwards, if we consider the position when the wreath is hanging on the wall.

    ECO – grapevine wreath

A wreath made of branches, decorated with natural material, will look very fashionable and stylish. It can be beautifully decorated and it will turn into a real work of art. Let's look at how to make this stylish DIY Christmas wreath step by step.

Before starting the exciting creative process, you need to prepare all the materials:

    • ready-made grape vine wreath.
    • natural decorative elements: stars from twigs, acorns, cones.
    • paper balls: crush toilet paper, soak in PVA glue and water and roll into balls, let dry.
    • thin tinsel.
    • white paint, any.
    • blue threads (wool or acrylic).
    • satin blue ribbon and nylon white ribbon.
    • glue gun.
    • salt dough: flour and salt in equal parts, water as needed. The dough should have the consistency of soft plasticine and not stick to your hands.

You need to prepare everything before starting the process and after starting:

    1. Let's prepare the base: the wreath of branches needs to be painted over with white paint on one side using regular strokes. It’s better to take a wide brush for this and lightly coat the top of the wreath with it. Leave to dry.
    2. We wrap the wreath in a spiral with tinsel. To do this, we attach the edge of the tinsel on the back side of the base with glue and begin to evenly wind it in a spiral over the entire base. We will also attach the tip to the glue on the back side where the first edge is.
    3. Now we attach the largest decorative elements - stars. Take three of them. Finished stars from twigs need to be randomly wrapped with blue thread, the edges of the thread carefully secured with glue on the back side of the star. We place the stars on the base in random places and attach them with glue.
    4. Next, we will prepare the remaining decorative elements. Cones, paper balls, acorns, everything you have needs to be painted with white paint and allowed to dry. After this, we attach all the elements to the wreath randomly and evenly. But you need to leave some space unfilled for the bow.
    5. Now we make stars from salt dough. To do this, roll out a small pancake, 3–5 ml thick. Cut out a star from it. Make 6-7 of these stars. They need to be dried in the oven at 160 degrees for 20 minutes.
    6. We glue the stars onto the base in random order.
    7. All that remains is to tie a beautiful blue and white bow from two ribbons and attach it to the wreath in the designated place.

Cozy New Year's wreath made of felt

Felt is a material that is soft and pleasant to the touch. Decorations and decor made from it give a special coziness to the room, and on New Year's and Christmas days this is the most desirable feeling. Let's make a DIY felt Christmas wreath together. The following is a description and photo of a very beautiful and homely wreath.

To create this beauty we will need:

    • foam base or homemade base from newspapers and paper tape.
    • acrylic gold paint and sponge.
    • lace or thick jute rope.
    • decorative braid of golden color and red-green.
    • felt in red, burgundy, green and white colors.
    • acrylic outline on fabric in a golden or bronze shade.
    • scissors.
    • blanks - patterns for petals of felt Poinsettia flowers.
    • glue – gun and transparent glue – Moment gel.
    • bells, beads for decoration.
    • thread.
    • decorative red berries.

When everything is ready, let's start creating:

    • First of all, we shade the base for the wreath with golden acrylic paint using a sponge, just blot it.

    • We leave the base to dry, and at this time we apply the pattern of petals and leaves to the felt, carefully cut out all the details, coat the edges of all the details with a golden outline. This is necessary not only for beauty, but so that the parts keep their shape and do not fray around the edges. We string all the parts onto a thread and a needle, interspersing them with beads, and send them to dry.
    • Now we wrap the base with rope and secure the edges with glue on the back of the wreath. We lay the rope in a spiral and make the layers as close to each other as possible.
    • Afterwards, we draw the outline of the veins on all the details of the leaves, leave them to dry, and when they are dry, we collect them with a needle and thread into inflorescences, decorating some in the middle with prepared beads or bells.

    • Now you need to estimate and mark where the flowers will be on the wreath, and where we will place the berries. We separate 2-3 berries and attach them to a wire under the rope, and wrap another layer of rope on top in a random order.

    • Now we wind the decorative ribbons in a spiral.
    • At the very end we glue the felt flowers into place.

The felt wreath is ready! It turned out beautiful, stylish and cozy, in the Christmas spirit.
