What can I say about the quadcopter itself, in fact it is the same CX-30, and the indexes are simply added to it with options, somehow with a camera, with a camera and a monitor on the remote control or, in our case, a monitor in the form of a phone. The quadcopter is equipped with a camera that transmits a “picture” in real time via WiFi to a smartphone. Also, you don’t need to take the remote control for a walk, just one smartphone and an application from the Google market to control the quadcopter are enough. Also, do not rush to throw away the packaging, I thought for a long time where to put the charge! And it turned out inside the plastic box on the adhesive tape was a bag of dopami.

Screwdrivers put already two, different sizes. I understood one to disassemble the quadrocopter, the second is the control panel.

✔ CONTROL PANEL

The remote control is still more reliable than the Android or iOs application, and plus the quadcopter responds to commands without delay. There are quite a few buttons and adjustments on the remote control. Even in the center, they did not forget to make an ear for a neck strap like in adult remotes.

I have never seen so many trimming buttons. To be honest, I used only 30% of them, left and right, and that's all. I even initially thought that the buttons were fake, but upon parsing it turned out that this was not the case. There are corrugated inserts on the sides so that the hand, sweaty from flying in the stratosphere, does not drop the remote control). According to the buttons, in place of the manufacturer, I would have made them in a different color. merge with the body and you have to be distracted to find them. Perhaps later I will act from memory.

There are really a lot of buttons, I didn’t find a description on the store’s website, so I’ll leave a photo from the network here so as not to look for it in the future.

Attached to the top of the remote is a holder for your smartphone with two bolts. For convenience, even a rubber strip was left. On the “sponges” of the holder there are rubber pads for a more secure grip of the phone. The plastic is not brittle.

On the back of the remote control, under the bolt, there is a compartment for 4 AA batteries. For convenience, the manufacturer has made ergonomic pads, thanks to them it is very convenient to hold the remote control.

The dimensions of the remote control, without a holder for a smartphone, are 13 by 14 cm.

Phone with a diagonal of 5 inches sits in the holder very confidently. But I put my One + in the case into the holder without any problems. More diagonal already, probably, and will not fit (although if 5.7 and without a cover, then it will fit with a creak). Bolt clamps allow you to adjust the angle of inclination and the angle of rotation of the stand.

The screws are not bad, but I still recommend clamping the vertical tilt as close to the console as possible. Then the phone sits dead, even heavy, and in this position the display is perfectly visible.

✔ QUADROCOPTER


The weight of the quadcopter is only 48.5 grams. According to reviews, it is slightly heavier than the Yi zhan X4 or JXD 388. The distance between the axes of the motors is 83 mm.

A camera is attached at the bottom, and a transmitter is already attached to it. On each “leg” of the copter under glass, there is a small LED. Inside the board there is also an LED that signals a discharge or connection to the remote control.

Due to the already installed protection of the copter blades, its size increases to 15 centimeters.

Silicone caps are on the chassis, they do not add clearance, but the copter does not slip on a smooth surface.

The tilt angle of the camera is adjustable in the range of approximately 100-120 degrees.

The screws are simply mounted on the axis of the motors. The motor itself measures 8.5 by 20 millimeters. The protection cannot be removed, in fact the motor is held in it and in the leg, to replace it, you need to pull hard. The power of the motors is enough to withstand not a strong wind. The hurricane wind blows the copter, although not much, but the video shows how in the evening I could not overcome it.

The protection itself is quite thin, but not fragile. I also note that it has a slight memory effect - after a strong fall, the protection worked, but it bent a little to the screw and the screw made tsok-tsok-tsok, after falling, check it.

The camera reduces the clearance of the quadrocopter almost to zero.

To get to the battery, you have to remove the latch. It is fastened quite rigidly, so I took it off completely, although I had to open it as planned)) I recommend removing it altogether, since you are constantly tormented to open it. Without it, the battery does not fall out even when dropped.

But the antenna, on the contrary, when falling from a height, I jumped out of the grooves a couple of times and hung on the cable.

I'll tell you more about the nozzles on the chassis. BE SURE to remove them and drip 1 drop of glue, otherwise you risk being left without them. I lost 2 pieces at home, then I really found them, but they stay there simply due to the tightness of the silicone, and they easily fly off on impact.

The camera body is attached to the quadrocopter with two ears, with small latches. Control and power supply is carried out via a 3-wire wire.

The camera, as in many models, is on a cable, which allows you to adjust its tilt.

Having unscrewed 3 screws on the cover, we get inside the camera. Memory chip EtronTech EM63A 165TS (16Mega x 16 Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM)) - takes almost 1/3 of the board.

The payment is two-sided. I'm not strong in circuitry, so I'll leave it to your judgment.

I started to disassemble the quadcopter, but then, when I got to a bunch of latches, I was just afraid to break off my leg or break the latches. Therefore, we decided to disassemble the remote control, the more it became interesting whether I was deceived, or whether all the buttons were still working. Buttons, an LED and a tweeter speaker are neatly located on the board.

On the back, in order to maintain secrecy, all designations were washed away from the microcircuit.

✔ SOFTWARE AND CONTROLS

To get started in the market for both iPhone and Android, download an application called cx_wifiufo

After installation, open the program and get into a rather interesting interface. I don't know what the designer was accepting, but I smiled. After pressing the Play button, the smartphone connects to the quadrocopter, also against the backdrop of the seas))) But do not forget to first disconnect from your home WiFi network. The software is stable, the flight was only 1 time - immediately after a strong fall of the quadcopter, communication with it was interrupted, and the application also made an unacceptable error.

Let's go to the WiFi settings. As I understand it, each quadrocopter has its own number, so the connections will not overlap. For interest, I measured the signal strength. The first one stopped at 5 meters from the copter, the second at 70 meters and the signal almost disappeared, the copter no longer responded to commands, so they wrote the truth about 30 meters of flights.

Buttons can be disabled. Or, for example, in the second screen, use the smartphone's tilt sensor for control. The third screen (sorry got caught with a sound die) is manual control. You need to get used to managing from your smartphone - there is a delay in issuing commands, so only in calm weather and in open areas.

The picture is not automatically rotated, so if the phone is inserted on the wrong side into the holder, simply expand the image with the corresponding button. Traction control by 30% - 60% -100%

✔ HANDLING AND FLIGHT

This is not a sports quadcopter, it is a little sedate and not sharp. Forgiving newbie mistakes. If the weather is calm, then the commands from the remote control are perfectly obeyed, after a little practice at home, it flies even in a limited space. It does 3D flips like using a button on the remote control, and I managed to do medium gas, turn and sideways at the same time. The gyroscope keeps the quadcopter fairly stable. But those who are used to sharp quadcopters should not forget about the 30-meter limit - the video shows the results of my forgetfulness). The flight lasts approximately five and a half minutes at 100% thrust.

Well, now the cons
- CAMERA, on the smartphone you can see what it shoots and how it flies. It's cool to watch, BUT it's worth looking at the monitor, it's a pity that they didn't put 1.3;
- No recording on the card inside the quadcopter;
- small flight range;
- not very playful;
- weak LED inside the quadcopter (in bright light it is not visible whether it is green or red); - it is not clear whether the gyroscope is calibrated or not;
- flips sag;
- plugs fly off on the chassis;

Another package came from BangGood, and in it is an FPV quadcopter CX-30S with an FPV system.

I must say, recently I have been very pleased with small quadcopters with the ability to fly around the camera - they are small in size, you can practically carry them in your pocket, and a 2-megapixel camera allows you to shoot quite decent video.

But let's start in order.

For starters, a video review of the Cheerson CX-30S quadrocopter.

The review was filmed in field conditions, since the weather allowed.

CX-30S Quadcopter FPV System

The first thing you should pay attention to is channel switching! You can run 8 quadcopters at the same time and not interfere with each other to fly FPV!!!

The video transmitter is small, its weight is only 11 grams. In theory, the camera should deviate downward, but it moves only 3-4 degrees - a short cable from the camera to the board interferes.

For a longer flight range, the instructions recommend unhooking the antenna from the mount and lowering it vertically down.

There are 4 wires going to the video transmitter, two (red and black) power, 2 more (yellow and white) control wires. Control (changing the channel and turning on the recording) is done through the CX-30S quadrocopter itself.
The fact that you can turn on the recording in flight is a definite plus! But, the choice of channel is a minus! Otherwise, it would be possible to put this mini-camera on other aircraft models.

I have not dealt with it yet, it is quite possible that the switching is carried out by closing the control wire to minus. Ready to listen and discuss thoughts on this matter :)

The video receiver with the screen is mounted on the control panel, the mount is movable, you can change the angle vertically and horizontally (see video review).

There are 2 buttons on the FPV receiver - channel change and power on. The screen does not fade in the sun and it is quite normal to control the quadcopter simply by standing with your back to the light source and placing it in your shadow.

The big disadvantage is the "built-in antenna", to increase the range of video flights it is better to bring it to the connector and use a directional one.

I didn’t disassemble it, I found a photo of a similar model on the net (I just don’t have a soldered card reader).

CX-30S FPV Flight Range

Flying miles away on a CX-30S quadrocopter will not work, count on 50 meters from the control panel. And if the video reception range can still be improved by installing a directional antenna, then beyond 50 meters the quadric itself is already losing control.

The recording quality is good, the downside is vibrations and jelly on the video, balancing such small screws is somehow problematic, I will mount the camera through a foam pad - to dampen the jitter.

CX-30 Quadcopter Overview

The quadcopter itself has a very good design. strong body - fell during testing often, as it allowed everyone to fly, 2 screws were broken, but everything remained alive and flying.

The motors are 8.5x20mm, exactly the same as the larger quadcopters (- has exactly the same, although the size is 2 times larger).

Quadcopter antenna - a hard wire 3 cm long, laid next to the board, I think to drill a hole in the upper part of the quadric and leave it upright - the radio control range should increase.

The board has 2 unused connectors, there may be modifications of the CX-30 with various additional bells and whistles :)

Rubber feet were lost in the first couple of hours of flight, you can see it in the photo. If you want to keep them - install on the glue! :)

The control panel is small and quite convenient, the left buttons at the top are responsible for switching channels and turning on / off video recording, the right ones - performing flips and 3 “speeds” of the quadcopter (more precisely, the maximum angle of inclination to the horizon).

In flight, the Cheerson CX-30 behaves well, self-stabilization after rolls is excellent.

Watch the video - I combined flights and recording from the onboard camera, and also performed such an exercise as "quadcopter tumbling up throw" - after turning on the gas, the quadric itself aligns horizontally.

Summing up.

The Cheerson CX-30 is a great FPV quadcopter for backyard or park flying. On calm days, it can also be used to record videos of interesting places.

However, we must not forget that this is still an inexpensive radio-controlled toy and you should not expect it to have a long range or self-stabilization in the wind.

The CX-30S is a great gift for someone you want to get FPV flying or a kid for a holiday. In the latter case, you can jointly shoot small story films or home sketches, and then process them in a video editor into full-fledged films :)

The low price and low injury risk of this quadcopter make it possible to entrust the very process of shooting from the sky to a child.

The possibility of simultaneous FPV flights allows you to organize competitions like Drone Racing for children, everything will be like in adults - FPV, quadrocopters, a track (true to a reduced size), obstacles ... Sometime in 2014, I had a dream - a radio-controlled helicopter. The question was not about money, but about the features of the aircraft, because it was not really clear what to look for when choosing it. Then there was talk that this was an unnecessary toy and there was little use for it, so I abandoned this idea. Recently, along with electronic cigarettes, quadrocopters have also become fashionable. Well, why am I worse? I twisted the third phantom in my hands, and firmly decided that I needed a mini-drone. But not Dji, but something cheaper up to 50 bucks. Of course, I wanted to shoot and fly, but the quality from budget cameras left much to be desired, in other words, it sucked. I thought (and correctly thought) that for the first time it would be better to take it without a camera in order to learn how to fly.

The choice fell on ... I didn’t really choose, this Eachine hung on the main page, there were no reviews on it yet, and I thought that it was a quite suitable model and, moreover, I could buy an additional set of batteries.
The parcel arrived pretty quickly - 17 days by the post of the Netherlands, but when I saw a protruding pip in the mail, the left stick of the control panel became a little ill

There is a Headless Mode switch button - a terrible thing, it is better not to turn it on, it does not work adequately.

The battery of the quadcopter is 550 mAh, it lasts for 6-9 minutes of flight.

This quadra is very well suited for training due to its size, that is, it is easy for a beginner to determine where in front. It is better to learn to fly at home first, then go outside. The first day I could not even take off, I rolled stupidly on the floor. On the second day, he already tried to take off, but his attempts were in vain, he hit the walls and fell. I accidentally turned on the headless mode and he generally lost control so that he was always drawn in one direction. Then I suspected something was wrong and decided to read the instructions all the same. It was written there about what role which trimmer performs. I read on the Internet how to do it and set it up. It flies around the room normally, I’ll go outside, where there is more space, the most fun began here, it flew up to a height of 40-50 meters and fell down. I couldn't do anything because the wind was too strong and my mistake was to let it fly so high. But fortunately, he miraculously landed on his "legs" and the hull was not injured at all. After such an incident, he nevertheless decided that it was better to first learn to fly around the house.
